This patient hasn't had medical care in years, has moderate cognitive and substantial short term memory issues, and didn't know how to navigate support systems. Dr. Morgan has been helping us identify specialists to deal with his laundry list of medical needs. One of the most important aspects of care, especially with vulnerable individuals, is to treat the patient with dignity and respect. Dr. McKoy addressed our patient directly and has crafted a plan to deal with his issues. He has a care team to support our preparation for surgery and to help our family member and us through the process. I feel like we're in really good hands. One final note. Dr. McKoy is a person of faith, and asked if he could pray in advance of surgery and right then. He paused and offered a prayer in the moment. Why is this important? Haven't we all been seen by a medical practitioner who was arrogant and less than supportive at some point? No matter how brilliant they might be, their demeanor is painful. Frankly, I believe it's critical to have skilled providers who are able to engage with their patients on a human level. Dr. McKoy is an excellent example of such a practitioner.

He performed surgery, and my pain has been gone for years. In the past year, Dr. McKoy has replaced both of my hip joints. He is personable, caring, and a wonderful surgeon and I would trust him to do any necessary operations. He is also a great doctor for accidents to the skeleton that do not require surgery. He explains what has happened to your body in an easily understandable way. Unlike many medical practices I have found the billing office is also competent and easy to work with. Dr. McKoy's medical assistant, Jason, is easily accessible and takes time to explain and assist you as a patient, too.

Have had a lot of failure since surgery and the g cyst has never gone away ..We had discussed prior to surgery the removal of this because of my cancer history however he did not remove it . Since the surgery have gone to post op many times and even requested one. Only to be never seen by the doctor only PA she has tried stuff for infection ..and now this last time again still not seeing the doctor. She wanted to get a mri because did not get one before surgery and some cream . For a minute I agreed but then thought about it because the amount of Tylenol to control pain is bad for me and not being able to see the doctor decided to find some new help . Wanted to update and edit since I went back and visited the summary which was a complete untruthful statement..Have had throat cancer with no voice box so I record everything for my wife to hear just easier that way and it sure doesn't match our recording nor did she not put the mri and prescription order in like we discussed they have been calling and texting After looking at reviews ran across a review not even 13 days ago of the same Dr. guess I'm not the only one recently with problems seems to be a trend

I had a severe case of BII at the time related to my silicone implants and was having a plethora of health issues. All of which she just blew off. The last two years I have been healing and my health has drastically improved. I wonder how many other people she has told that removing their implants would not better their health. Quite negligent if you ask me. I had a plethora of cysts in my breasts and in my armpits which are all gone now after two years of healing. I found it quite ironic that she told me to not remove foreign objects from my body, but she does mastectomies on transgender people. I know we are limited here on good care in this area, but I would recommend you go somewhere else with more integrity. Thank God, I did not listen to her advice and keep those implants in my body.

I do miss Dr. Fiorini deeply, but I have received great care since she left the practice from Dr. Beatty and the NP's. I trust them with my care being that I have to go for early prevention. They are great about getting back with you if they are needed outside of an appointment through the fairly new portal they have started using. I have recommended this practice numerous times when people ask where to go to for issues or even if they just need a mammogram. Breast health is so very important! Be pro active!

His staff is friendly, compassionate, and will go the extra mile to assist you with all of your needs and concerns. After my visit to the emergency room, I made an appointment to see Dr. Johanesmeyer. He saw my X-Rays and we discussed his plan of action has including Ankle repair surgery, fitting me with splints, boots, and physical therapy. I have been prescribed pain medication to hold me over until the surgery. He did advice that due to my multiple broken bones, i will experience arthritis. 3/29 @ 6am I underwent Open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF) is a type of surgery used to stabilize and heal a broken bones. In my case, I had 6 plus broken bones. 2 weeks later I had my post-op appointment. X-rays were taken and I waited for the doctor. Upon removal of my cast and bandages We discovered extensive swelling along with monstrous looking fracture blisters. I was in total shock. Dr. Johanesmeyer Explained to me what fracture blisters were and how to treat them. He also Explained the Titanium hardware in my foot ( I nearly fainted). He went over the process of the surgery along with the incisions he made around the fracture blisters and why. My stitches are neat, and the incisions were all in straight lines. I must say he did a wonderful job. Dr.Johanesmeyer advised me to return in a week to see if the swelling goes down enough to remove the stitches and fit me for a stabilizing boot. He also provided me with pain medication and Gabapentin for my burning, tingling, ice picks, and cold nerve pain. 1.) Office Staff : 5 2.) Location: 5 3.) Since I am post-op the office visit fees are waived for 3 months. This is a plus because I had to meet my deductible in order to get the surgery. I am looking forward to recovering from this injury and getting on with the rest of my life through Dr.Johanesmeyer treatment plan. I recommend highly recommend Lowcountry Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine.

Before scheduling, I was told my records needed to be reviewed first, which I understood and sent over. I initially misspelled the email address but corrected it shortly after. During my follow-up phone call with Stacey, I was trying to better understand why I was being referred elsewhere instead of scheduling directly for imaging. Unfortunately, the conversation became unnecessarily tense and dismissive. I felt spoken to in a passive-aggressive and condescending manner while asking questions about the process. I understand medical offices are busy and stressful environments, but professionalism and patience matter, especially when patients are already confused or dealing with health concerns. People make mistakes, ask questions, and need clarification. The way staff communicate can greatly impact someone's experience. I hope the practice takes patient communication seriously moving forward, because no patient should leave a call feeling belittled for trying to understand their care process.

Five years ago, I saw Dr. Eric Angermeier to have a cyst drained on the first joint (near the nail) on my left thumb. Unfortunately, as Dr. Angermeier predicted, 'something' came back with a vengeance. I learned that Dr. Angermeier left MUSC and with a partner, Kyle Kokko, MD, Ph.D, opened the Hand Institute of Charleston. With its main office in Summerville, Dr. Angermeier, fortunately for me, sees patients, alternating Tuesdays and Wednesdays in Mount Pleasant in a office located in the Mullis Building, where the practitioners are affiliated with East Cooper Medical Center. He was not surprised to see me again and remarked, "Oh, my." The X-ray revealed that there was no cartilage left in the joint and many bone spurs. My only option was to undergo a painful procedure which would remove the joint, clean out the arthritis, remove the bone spurs and insert pins to straighten out and hold the bones in my finger together. Ugh. Though this sounded really nasty, I made an appointment for the procedure two weeks later. I slept through the surgery waking up to find my thumb and half my left arm in a hard cast and heavy bandaging. It's done! Now, for the recovery. No cooking, no cleaning, no lifting, no driving, arm elevated, keep it dry. I can do this. I go back to the Hand Institute 11 days following the procedure to get the stitches removed (ouch) and begin occupational therapy. Oh my. Dr. Eric Angermeier is the best. He's kind, proficient and professional. Not yet convinced? His whole team left MUSC to join hm in his new practice. What a tribute. Need an orthopedic hand and wrist surgeon? You need not look further than the Hand Institute of Charleston.
