I found souvenir items that were specifically made for Taal Vista and Tagaytay, which were obviously geared towards tourists. For a frequent visitor like me, I was particularly delighted by their selection of bags and pouches that had beautiful and funky graphic prints, resembling and inspired by traditional weave patterns of indigenous tribes form all over the Philippines. Despite having several pouches and coin purses that haven't been used in my cabinet, I couldn't resist getting one. It's a small, hard-to-find place about five minutes before you hit the rotunda where I've gotten all my lip balm (it's not a vanity thing, my lips have a tendency to get dry easily), some organic diet supplements, and a wide range of different-scented soap. In fact, it's where we got the stuff that we gave out to our bridesmaids and female secondary sponsors during our wedding. Their products look good in that "I'm organic and good for the local economy" kinda way, and they actually work. From bee pollen that you can use as a dietary supplement to the aforementioned soap and lip balm to throat spray for a cough you feel coming and even actual honey, Ilog Maria's got a range of products (some of which you don't you think you need until you get there). Best of all, because you see the actual beehives and get to interact with people who actually know what they're talking about, it feels as legit as it gets. I can't imagine doing without their stuff.
