If you are navigating the complexities of a divorce and feel lost and alone, please DO NOT call Attorney Thurner. I could not be more disappointed with my encounters with her. Five months of unanswered emails and phone calls left me with no information, resorting to Google for help with the process. After hearing from her one time between May and when I fired her in October, I learned she never actually filed the divorce with the court, but was happy to take all but $60 of my retainer. During such a stressful time in my life, it's sad to see an attorney such as Nicole provide such poor counsel. If you want to be left lost and confused and pay another retainer to another lawyer who will actually do the work, please use Nicole. Otherwise, please take my word for it and go with anyone but Nicole Thurner. Fortunately no children/custody/property were involved, and her lack of counsel would be detrimental to someone with a more complex case. I wish I would have known how terrible she is before engaging her and I would hate to see it happen to anyone else.

The latest invoice I recieved actual listed charges for them traveling to the courthouse to withdraw from my case !!!!! How low class is that? I just found out that time sensitive court documents were sent to Myers address because they were still listed with the case. AND, they didn't even have the ethical morals to at least forward them to me. Or at least a phone call telling me they were in possession. My soon be be ex-husband, with no help from her, wasn't even served for a month & many phone calls after they said he would be. Months went by and I still hadn't received a copy of my divorce settlement. After calling daily and also getting charged a monthly fee, even though no progress was made, Heather finally emailed me a copy of SOMEONE else's divorce settlement!!! Yes, not Mine!!! She is extremely unprofessional and downright terrible at her job. I got more info from my new attorney in a 10min phone call than I did from her in 10 months!!! Additionally, she was unprepared for our discussions, and 80% of my consultations were spent recapping the last meeting. A complete waste of my time and money! I terminated her representation at the beginning of April, and have spent the last 5 months attempting to 1) receive the remainder of my retainer back and 2) have her remove my divorce petition in the court system. Despite weekly follow-up calls OVER THE PAST 5 MONTHS, she has done neither, and I must now go downtown and file a motion to be seen by a judge to ask that she be removed from my divorce filing. What a completely disappointing experience! She is unethical and lacks any urgency and you would be better finding another firm to represent you!
