So it was not surprise to me and my buddy when. Discovering the nashville scene for public art that we came across a few murals of the music starlet. Of the pieces we came across featuring Dolly this was the best looking one. Very vibrant and colorful and just well done by the artist. Overall cool piece and not much to dislike. I mean who can dislike Dolly Parton? It's pretty much impossible to not respect the person she is even if someone isn't a fan of the music.

The mural itself features red white and blue colors the song title and a small silhouette of Dolly herself. Overall a very fun and innovative mural that sticks out as memorable on our trek through nashville to find public art.

In the early 1900s, this is where the printing and publishing industry for Nashville was located. Since then, it's been reinvented as a destination spot (as mentioned above). Great nightlife area.

We had already learned some of the history here from our Joyride tour, which added nicely to our exposure.

It's 20 feet tall, black-and-white and features intricate Nashville-centric designs including guitars and cowboy hats. It's free and it's fun, and during mid-day/mid-week, we got right in there for our pictures.

Alice Aycock is the sculptor and gave it its name because the sculpture appears to change as you move around it and suggests a certain kind of movement, something akin to a dance, so she thought it as a ghost ballet. So, in case you were wondering, now you know about the name. This piece of art has received a lot of national attention since it was built in 2007. In fact, in 2007, it was selected as one of the top public art pieces in Art in America's Annual Guide. Nashville, Tennessee is an amazing city and art like this happens to help define what makes Nashville such an amazing city. I definitely recommend checking this out.
