Belyzium is kind of a quiet, unassuming little chocolate shop, but my friends and I had a great experience here. We first passed by it on the way to a grocery store, but it was closed so we made a mental note to come back. Glad we did. We returned on a Tuesday afternoon, and no one else was there. The (handsome) young man working was knowledgable and friendly. He answered our questions about the kinds of chocolate they sell, and it was interesting to learn about the normal vs. cold chocolates. He let us try some of the different percentages and experience the different melting/consistency of the cold chocolates. Then we ordered a couple hot chocolates to drink and bought a couple bars. Since he used chocolate tea as part of the preparation for our hot chocolates, he let us sample that too, and we ended up buying a couple bags because it was uncommon. Oh, and we even sampled the raw beans. We might have spent a whole hour in the shop, just chatting and learning and enjoying the different forms of chocolate. He also told us about a free workshop that they offer, but unfortunately we were leaving Berlin the next day and could not attend. read more
