This is a spectacular little park above Genoa's Old Town offering great views of the city in all directions at all times of the day. You reach it by either the Zecca-Righi funiculare at Larga della Zecca, or the unique Art Deco/Nouveau elevator off Piazza del Portello. There are several restaurants, cafes, gelaterie, and a bus stop atop the Belvedere, so you can either take a break up there or jump on one of the buses for a ride around the surrounding neighborhoods, with their beautiful apartment houses and views, or for the "long way" back to LdZ down the hill. There's even a post office if the urge to write home strikes you! Families and kids come to relax here, and it'd be a great place for your own to meet and mingle with some Genovese over a gelato or a cool drink on a warm afternoon high above the noise and bustle of the city below. read more
