It was weird to see Washington D.C. just before flying home there.

In my younger days of backpacking around the United Kingdom, I definitely would have stayed here in the hostel upstairs and thoroughly enjoyed the scene here when I woke up in the morning before going out on the town. Somehow I couldn't avoid getting older though (you know the alternative), so while I can't speak to the evening vibe here, I found the afternoon vibe a bit grungy (do people still use that word or am I showing my age?) and backpackeresque. I'm guessing that most of the people here, judging by the laptops they had out on the tables and in the booths, were travelers who were actually using the place for food and lodging. Myself, I was just looking for a quick bite to eat before heading out to the airport for my flight home. And while I enjoyed their inexpensive cider as a way to celebrate my last waning moments in London, the service let me down. Not that it wasn't a tasty treat of chips (of the British kind) and meatless nachos piled high with every kind of carbohydrate filled bit of goodness under the sun, but while my lady and I had planned on enjoying a leisurely lunch while watching the football (at least that was my plan), we ended up needing to have everything boxed up so we did not risk missing our flight. And for the surprisingly high price we paid for simple food, I was pretty disappointed by how incredibly long the food took to serve. I am not usually one to complain about slow service but with the amount of people they had tending the bar, I was amazed that it took 45 minutes to make bar food. They did go out of their way to box up our order, something they are not usually equipped for, and we did end up with a good tasting, but messy, meal on the train. But it should really not have come to this and it did not leave a very positive last impression of London on my brain for this trip. Come on, guy, get it together on the meals and I might book a room in the hostel next time I'm backpacking in the United Kingdom!

I visited Belushi's to watch the football with my friends. While I was not that interested in the game that was on, I love a good match and what better to go with it than a good burger? Or so I thought. After one of my friends had to return his burger because it had cheese while he had explicitly asked for no cheese and my other friend received the wrong salad and the wrong drink (apparently being a girl instantly means you will be given the berry cider instead of the original one even if you just said that you want a cider), I eventually got my burger too. I decided to go for the Bourbon BBQ Melt Burger which boasts mounds of melted cheddar, dripping Jack Daniels sauce smoky bacon, giant onion rings and a generous helping of fries. The burger itself was undercooked and too small of the bun it was served inside. The bacon was more along the lines of burnt to a crisp than smoky and the the onion rings were not only giant but one fit inside the other and were even smaller than the already small patty. As for the cheese, if I hadn't opened the burger up to find what the burnt thing was (the bacon as I said before) I would not have thought there was any in there. The JD sauce was just dumped on top of everything, I assume to achieve the dripping effect, and just felt sloppy. From someone who uses that sauce in her cooking, that is totally a waste of good sauce. Finally the generous helping of fries, that was probably less than a McDonalds portion and the fries were cold on the inside, leading me to think it was made some time in the past and were kept warm in the kitchen. I was left thinking that the general mentality is that as long as there is football on they can get away with bad food. Needless to say there is no way I will ever order food here again and I think you should stay away too.

The best thing about this bar is its' location - right at Hammersmith junction, and not to mention the insane drink specialson a Friday night it's 2 for 1 Coronas until 9pm. With any Belushi's bar, you know what to expect, and that is, walls covered with posters, lots of booze, live music and very drunk people at the end of the night. The band Juicebox that plays some Friday nights are an excellent cover band and worth going to see. Don't come here for a 'quiet night' on lemonade. You want to be numbed to the behaviour of the lads and ladettes by the evening's end!

We had a long layover between flights and decided to leave the airport and get lunch! Belishi's was fantastic!!! We had local beer, nachos and a burgers! The bartender was great and the service all around was perfect! A Great place for good food and drinks and just to relax a little before a long flight!!

cocktails expensive but limited. Food was terrible even for pub standard. Food greasy, tables unwashed, flies everywhere.

This is a very Irish bar - so if that is your thing then it may be for you. To be fair the food is…read morenot worth mentioning apart from saying that it is typical pub grub and is cheap. Reasons to go here are basically as follows. You like a real local pub feel that has an Irish feel, you like watching horse racing, football, rugby or sports events but keep in mind a lot of these will be Irish based or you like live music. For me it was o.k. but the locals were a bit frosty. It has a smoking area front and back and a pool table if you fancy a game. They also have a Golf side, pool team and a fantasy football competition so if these appeal then it might be for you. Don't forget St Patrick's day once a year which I am sure would be a blast (as it is everywhere) - Typical Irish pub, worth a visit if you haven't been to one before or enjoy the craic. It has a very loyal local patronage, so somewhere you might find some new friends if they warm to you.

The food is not great, it very heap at £2 for a sandwich I can only imagine why it is so cheap. I suppose being Irish would help to make any of the above more appealing, but when my husband just had to go there to watch a game, me and my friends had a friendly pool game instead. Even so, I did not feel at ease, simply because of all the blokes, screaming and being very loud and obnoxious. Also some bartenders have a very harsh accent so you must pay close attention, which is hard with all the background noise. The outside area stinks too much of cigarettes as it a heated area and therefore attracts many smokers. Definitely not for me, or anyone who appreciates talking and listening.
