5 Stars -- Outstanding Food, Service & Lakefront Atmosphere!…read more What started as a casual family afternoon exploring Lake Eufaula turned into an outstanding dinner at Captain John's! We arrived a little early to beat the Saturday dinner crowd, and we're glad we did. Our server, Lizzy, was fantastic! She enthusiastically recommended the Cajun jambalaya pasta, and the way she described it had me sold before it even reached the table. It absolutely delivered! Rich, creamy, loaded with flavor, and VERY spicy -- exactly how I like it! My wife ordered the red snapper with mashed potatoes and jalapeño cornbread, and it was outstanding. Our two kids went with burgers, and everyone left happy. The relaxed lakeside atmosphere was the perfect way to finish our afternoon, but the food and hospitality really made the experience memorable. Special shoutout to Lizzy! Her friendly service and spot-on recommendation made an already great meal even better. If you're visiting Lake Eufaula, Captain John's is absolutely worth a stop. We'd happily come back!

Service was welcoming and friendly. Food: salad bar, I am not about to turn down a wilted lettuce salad bar. I could just blame the humidity and heat outside. Salad bar needs some help and a little more tastier variety in veggies, which could be the humidity playing with the foodie emotions in me.. I am not really sure. We didn't do the buffet. New places for us, we will order off the menu firstly to see if the buffet in the future will be a go. There's another Gambinos in Gore, OK. So two places not far from us could be a hit/miss... -pizza hadn't arrived while typing this .. so I'll hold my thoughts for a moment.... I like the pizza sauce... it's tangy !! The pizza sauce doesn't have the usual zest to it, but this is good. I go off the pizza sauce. The toppings are a plus. So the toppings hit the mark. We ordered one pepperoni and one deluxe which is the "supreme"type. Both pizzas are the thin crust made to order. Not bad!! Not bad for our first step in and sit down. Y'all give it a try.
