They seem to be providing an important service to Inverkeithing, so I won't quibble that too much, just that if you're disabled, you might have a bit of a struggle to move about the place. The staff are very friendly and helpful, which is nice. This chemists seems to carry pretty much everything you'd expect, from perfume to vitamins to foot care to soaps to the actual medicines. Their prices are what you'd expect from a small town chemist (slightly more expensive than Edinburgh). One thing that did concern me a bit was that some of the things on the shelf were dusty and looked like they'd been there for some time. I wouldn't buy anything to wear from here, like a hat, and wear it without washing it first.

(Impressive as the checkout area was only small, given the size of the store and the fact there are no self-service checkouts) As a small store, the selection is limited but is decently stocked given their size. Due to the size of the store, the facilities are limited compared to what one would expect from Boots, and offers the bare minimum, while also shutting earlier than other nearby locations, at 6 pm. 3* - OK, good location but much better pharmacies nearby from Boots and rival brands.

They cover all the basic pharmacy items and, although not overwhelmingly friendly, we're courteous enough. Because of the Royal Mile location and because I would think they are an independent pharmacy, their prices were quite a bit higher than the Boots around the corner. Their package of 16 paracetamol was £0.55 here, whereas Boots' were only £0.16. That said, it is convenient and handy if you need to stop in here, and it didn't seem unsafe at all to me despite what the other reviewer said.

On a recent visit when I nipped in for a pack of chewing gum, the various foul smelling, painfully thin and toothless characters waiting at the counter told me what that dark secret was. Despite the pleasant exterior, the lather large amount of skagheads that visit this pharmacy for their weekly methodone hit makes it a virtual no-go area at certain times of the day. I've worked on The Royal Mile for about six or seven weeks now, and have already seen two rather sizeable, drink and drug fuelled brawls outside. It really is quite astounding that the powers that be send the junkies here, to the city's main tourist thoroughfare, for their pick-me-up. Given that heroin addicts aren't known for their early morning "rise and shine" attitudes, as long as you get here before 1pm you'll be alright, and will find a quite lovely little outlet for all your pharmaceutical needs.

They all look the same, and they're pretty soul-less and boring. But, they're also all in great locations slap bang in the city centre, and on days when it's raining and you know you fancy doing something in the evening, but aren't sure what, whether you like it or not these places generally tend to save the day. For starters, it's the closest big cinema to to the city centre, otherwise you'd have to trek out to Fountain Park or up to Ocean Terminal. And there's also no denying that Walkabout is about so cheap for drinks that it would almost be rude not to. Unless of course you've parked in the obligatory on-site multi-storey car park, that is. Just avoid it on weekend afternoons, when it's full of kids, or during the Fringe when it's full of tourists.

Marks and Spencer is a big and well known British retailer.  As we were walking around New Town, we…read moreputzed around in this store located in a prime stretch of Princes St and right across the street from the landmark Scott Monument.  It was a very busy store on a Saturday afternoon.  It was a good opportunity though for the wife to pick up some items like shortbreads, crackers, and cookies, and such as gift boxes and at reasonable prices.  Self check-out was popular and worked well here.
