Bell's Meat & Poultry - Maple sausage.. yum! - Meat Shops Near Me - Kane, Pennsylvania

Whoa! This is a must place to stop! It's the real thing; a country butcher shop and store, totally real, totally authentic and not just some modern day duplication attempt at being one. I fell in love with this place years ago, being totally impressed with their meats, particularly their sausages of which their korv offering is the best korv I've ever had. They also have all kinds of pickled and what I might best describe as "country treats" not commonly found elsewhere. The taxidermy wildlife mounts are real, game taken by the owner himself, and are some of the most impressive I've ever had the pleasure to come across. read more

My husband and I stopped here when driving through Kane. The place was very similar to what I expected based on the pictures I saw online. There were hot sauces, spices, pasta sauces, bbq sauces, and canned goods lining the shelves, all homemade by this shop. In the back they had a fresh meat counter - over 40 varieties of homemade sausages, various cuts of raw meat, take and bake stuffed mushroom caps, chicken breasts, and stuffed peppers. The list goes one! Along another wall, they had a refrigerator/freezer section with another delectable selection of homemade products - smoked cheeses, beef sticks, ring bolognas, dips, and frozen sausages/meats. We left the first time with cheese curds and a leek log. I was pleasantly surprised with the flavor that the log had. Amped up ring bologna with pieces of cheese and leeks all throughout. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the cheese curds - creamy yet with a hint of chive mixed in. When we stopped in again on our way home, we picked up some more items - vodka sauce, fresh sausages to grill that evening (hot leek, greek, and kick ass), jalapeno and cheese beef sticks, and some frozen sausages for later (pepperoni, the hottest one, and another that I can't remember). Let me tell you - the fresh ones we had that night were amazing! The greek was by far my favorite (also their best seller) but the other two did not disappoint. I will keep this place on my radar if we are ever in the area again. As long as I have a cooler along, I will be filling it! read more

What an amazing place! Bells has it all for meat lovers. They also have tons of locally grown produce and flowers, but for me, it's all about the meats! The place itself is small, but it's great. My wife was amazed at all of the Scandinavian goodies in stock. Being that she is from Norway this made her quite happy. Lots of treats were purchased. The sausages are huge and they have a ton to choose from. We bought the Boudin, Andouille, Apple ( filled with apples and applesauce!), Sweet Italian, and something called Kick Ass. They were so good! I really liked the kick ass since anything spicy hot is what I usually go for. We also picked up some beef sticks, a pair of pepperoni sticks, and a handful of peppers. This place rocks and their meats are so good! They are known for their "griller " which is a gam with cheese, bacon, sausage, and chicken, rubbed with spices! We didn't buy one and now I'm searching online for a way to get one delivered. Anyways, if you are heading up towards the Allegheny National Forest, make it a point to hit up Bells, you won't be disappointed! read more

Bell's Meat & Poultry - Amazing Bells sausages and peppers being cooked in our Dutch oven - Meat Shops Near Me - Kane, Pennsylvania

I try to stop in to Bell's every time I go through Kane during normal business hours, this last trip with my son, we picked up some pickled Brussel sprouts, a full Leek log, some spices, and a pair of ribeye steaks form the counter, my normal steak treatment, and 5 hours later, I was very happy with mine, but my son, who can be a bit picky, stopped chewing halfway through the second bite with his eyes closed, and just hummed "Mmmm" in complete satisfaction, as always, when I'm back in Kane, I will make a stop at Bell's. We have also had the Korv, very good, done right, pickled asparagus, pickled chicken hearts, pickled cauliflower, and a few other items here and there over the years. My Danish lineage is satisfied with Jack's offerings! read more

Holy cow (see what I did there?) what an awesome place. A real gem. Incredible selection of products-- everything from spices to meat sticks and even something called a bacon bomb...I'll be back often. read more

Distance from Monroeville to Bell's is about 120 miles. Bell's has now been declared an official Sunday motorcycle destination... It's really that impressive. Here's our haul for the day: Griller - a big loaf of Chicken, Bacon and Sausage trussed up so that you can put it on the grill for about two hours and taste heaven. Bangers, Andouille and Blueberry Maple sausage links. Made fresh. So many different flavors of sausage you will not know what to choose. We actually turned around and went back for the Blueberry. Seriously, didn't make it around the block and went right back. Bell's also has about 6 ft of spices. Picked up nice flavor. Potato candy. Never heard of it, but had to try it. Different and quite unique a sweet treat. Get yourself some Bell's - you'll be happy! The staff will assist! read more

I grew up in a Swedish household, in a Swedish church, in a Swedish neighborhood. My parents, my grandparents, and family friends all made Swedish food for Christmas. The korv (Christmas sausage) from Bells tastes exactly like the korv I grew up with: it is lean and finely ground. Because there isn't a lot of fat, it bakes up crisp. There is no taste of nitrates, which has been an issue with korv from other suppliers. Bells also makes excellent pickled herring. They make many other varieties of sausage, and carry a complete line of Swedish foods, as well as packaged spices. A clean, excellent store, I drive many miles off my direct route to visit there. read more

We went to Bells over the weekend while visiting our son. We bought strip steaks, ground chuck, ground pork, garlic Parmesan sausage and ham balls. The ham balls are great, they come pre-cooked so easy to prepare. The sauce on them is very tasty. We had the strip steaks tonight and I believe it was one of the best I have ever tasted. So flavorful and tender. They were reasonably priced as well..$10.99 per pound. Haven't tried the sausage yet but we plan to soon. Definitely a great place to shop-we'll visit again soon! read more

Travel about 2 hrs to get there, but well worth it !! There sausages are the best, many flavors to chose from, also try their beef sticks, very good also. read more

Very Good Meats,Cheese's and Awsome Sausage Please Stop In and Look for your self.

We visit Kane quite often to camp, and always make it a point to stop at Bell's for meat "best meat around"

This is a little gem for Kane as far as I am concerned. The store brings back childhood memories of going to the local meat market with my mother. My personal favorite is the Greek sausage & I love the Grillers! Sure wish Jack made a BBQ loaf like we use to get @ Austin's Meat Market in Coudersport when I was little. Make it a stop if your in Kane, PA -- you won't be disappointed! read more

Jack Bell is truely the secret gem in this town, the sausage is the best I've ever had, and he's always coming up with new recipes (Bigfoot & Swampfire & Gator sausage) so it's always like a mini adventure to stop in and find out what treasure you're going to find behind the meat counter. The quality of the meat is unparrelaled. Jack always makes you feel welcome, and always has something interesting to share with you. The Apple Sausage is my personal favorite. They also have supreme leek dip, their own smokehouse for beef stick snacks. Most importantly, Jack is jusy one of those guys who makes you feel like you've known him forever! Stop in, and if you don't uou've really lost out on meeting one of the worlds most Awesome guys (and some awesomely superior meats). read more

A friend who used to pass through the area for work was wanting a griller so I took a road trip 2 hours to buy a few. I like to do my own Bologna and sausages at home with venison and this place has the best selection of Con Yeager spices I have ever seen. I was very impressed with the fresh meat in the case as well as the canned goods pickled herring etc. My mom purchased a few stuffed pork chops and pinwheels. She says that the stuffed pork chops are very good and she is pretty picky on her stuffing. I will be cooking my griller soon and will re-post an update. Bell's is one of the nicest meat markets I have ever been in. You won't be disappointed. There's something for everyone's taste. So I cooked a half griller this afternoon. I did it in the oven with a digital thermometer probe in it. It was 160 degrees internal in 70 minutes. Tasted ok. Most of the cheese had oozed out and was on bottom of loaf pan. I probably won't go back for a griller anytime soon. I would stop in and try some other offerings though. read more
