We saw two different types of deer (the red deer were huge, majestic and beautiful!) The lake was pretty, with plenty of geese, swans, ducks and even herons to watch/ feed. It was pretty enough in early spring before the leaves all turned green, so I imagine this park would be even better in sunnier weather! Apparently there are five hundred acres of parkland, but as large sections are kept as a nature reserve, the walkways were not actually that long or strenuous. It's perfect for a sunday afternoon stroll. Ooor if you'd like to do something even less strenuous, on some Sundays they even run 'segway tours' around the grounds!! Beauuuuutiful.

There are deer there but used to be lots more animals - cows, horses, chickens, donkeys etc but they had to take them away. The industrial museum and Wollaton Hall are still both interesting places to visit. And there are many events held there such as the Splendour music festival, the Autokarna, and various craft fairs. They made the bizarre decision of building a big, out of place kids play park on the old football pitch, which looks horrendous but aside from that Wollaton Park is a great day out

Staff are on the whole older ladies and are wonderful, very friendly and patient with kids. Has several high chairs. In the winter the ice rink arrives, this is a must on a cold winters evening - open air skating - fantastic. The front of the Square faces on to the Council House building where the Little John bell is housed. The Old Market Square is supposedly where Robin Hood won the Silver Arrow in an archery compitition thrown by the Sheriff of Nottingham. At christmas time the Square plays host to the German Market where German vendors come to sell their goods. I recommend the German sausages with mustard. they are tasty.

The selection of shops on the square is pretty good and varied - from Debenhams to Burtons, the obligatory Starbucks and Wetherspoons, but also all the main banks, Littlewoods, pound shops, Nottm tourist office, and of course the council house itself - The iconic lions still prowl and look on Nottingham! The mansion is massive, with intricately decorated rooms, and the grounds are beautifully maintained. Don't miss the sheep--they're a delight to frolic with! Set aside 3-4 hours to explore fully. If you're attending a movie night, arrive early to grab a good spot. They only served drinks once the film started, so bring your own snacks. Ubers can take 15 minutes during the day and up to 45 minutes post-movie--plan ahead!
