This is the second time we went here. Having tried before and were disappointed, we thought... why…read morenot, let's give it another try. Where to begin....once we were seated we waited while the 6 or 7 servers spun around the room. After some time, I could not even understand what each was doing. They all seemed to have every job and no job. Finally, we asked the chief server to take our aperitif order. We had a chance to review the menu and while it is a nice menu, the prices were 30% higher than what should be. We have never had the specials explained and had to ask two times for our aperitif. We finally ordered our food and were nervous because the prices just seemed too high for what we were seeing. We went ahead and while we waited our wine came. The wine was served as a cider- no explanation, no pause and even after requesting to have the bottle and ice bath left at our table it was put in the center of the room.... too far for us to serve ourselves...which is exactly what we had to do while we waited for the food.... some 20 min. Now, that could be ok, if the entree arrived or if there was a little something served, but it was all just so terribly timed. All of a sudden, everything came and our plates were served and taken quickly.... it was just a strange experience and felt like a non-professional service. Having lived in France for 8 years, in my experience, this is not normal for what this place aims to be. After we were rushed through our dinner, pretty much all the staff disappeared! We had no idea what was happening... some 10-5 min later we realized that the whole staff was eating in the next room. We knew that because they kept calling to the single server left to clear their plates.... through the open door! Now, everyone needs to eat, but we hadn't finished and ... well, it felt rude and sloppy and not professional. When we finally were able to get anyone's attention, we were treated like we had interrupted them. sorry/not sorry Overall, this was just a terrible experience. The prices were too high, the service was horrific and the overall food experience was sub-par.

It has only a dozen or so tables, a 4 top in the outside courtyard, an 8 top round inside and the others 3-4 but anything can expand a little. It is quite comfortable and simply but prettily decorated. The menu (carte) is small too but interesting, as is the wine list (hand picked with only 3 in each of a half dozen categories), but there is a new, well priced "menu" (complete meal) each day. The chef's name is Paul Lacheray, foodies should remember in case he ever moves away from what he's created. We ordered 2 "menus". The entrée was green asparagus and carrots, roasted with a light sauce of olive oil, balsamic vinegar, cumin and chives with shavings of a cheese that most resembled an orange cheddar. Absolutely delightful and different. The " plat" was a seared duck breast, a steak if you will, perfectly cooked "rosé" and tender, with fava beans and roast potatoes in a light sauce of olive oil, capers, mustard seed, chives and secret stuff. Fabulous. Desert was a thick chocolate mousse, with chocolate shavings and "crunchies". Terrific. His cuisine is one of light sauces both in consistency and flavor, and worked perfectly with his dishes. Go here! We actually went back that night for a couple of appetizer to test their regular menu. After ordering we were given an amuse bouche of little slice of squid lightly roasted with a little soy. I had, no surprise, 6 oysters titled "4 + 2 surprises". I eat oysters with nothing added, no lemon, no mignonettes, no nothing, but I wanted to see what he did. Well one came with a little of a very light mignonette and the other with a little faux caviar. Two very interesting and light changes, but when you have very fresh oysters, they are hard to improve on. Nice try though. Just had an appetizer of lightly sautéed in olive oil with some steamed broccoli and potatoes. I have never eaten such tender squid, simply a delicious dish. So I asked if I could get a half dozen of the amuse Bosch squid to finish the meal, and they were nice enough to do that for me. Added data for my go-here-al-all-costs recommendation, although their prices are very modest, even cheap for that quality.
