We eventually withdrew him from his local public school and found GFA. It worked out really well. He found a great group of friends and was academically challenged. The teachers really cared about him and despite its small size, there were enough extra curriculars and clubs to keep him engaged. I strongly recommend this school if the public school is not a good fit for your child or you are looking for them to be challenged. The Teachers go out of their way to create classes to meet the needs of the students, and the results and college acceptances prove that.

The staff are knowledgable, kind and helpful and are focused on the education of children. We have been pleasantly surprised with how well GFA is run and how well our daughter is learning and growing. The school is top notch and we would recommend it to anyone in the area as a first class education program for all school aged children.

I also appreciate the security this school provides and the religious teachings as well as the service hours 8th graders are required to make. The education is very well rounded. The faculty and staff really care about the students. We've made many lifelong friends from our time as parents at this school and so have our children. We've loved our time with this school. I highly recommend touring and checking it out for yourself.

Pontiac Jr High School is located in Fairview Heights, IL. It's an extension to William Holiday…read moremiddle school (K-5th grade). Pontiac teaches grades 6th-8th. Most children that attend can walk, ride their bikes, are picked up by a school bus or parents drop off. The environment gets the students ready for High School allowing them to have lockers, switch classes and start having responsibilities they didn't have in grade school. The teachers that I have encountered shows care and concern for their students. Sincerely, wanting to see them all succeed and prepare them for their next grade. They also have sports like any other school. Students are not able to participate if they do not maintain a certain grade average and attendance. If your child is absent, don't worry, you will get a call to find out why. You also have access to call or email your child teachers for any concerns. My son has moved on to High School but he visits on a regular to support the Volleyball team. At the end of the day... I don't have any children to attend Pontiac but I would recommend it for others.
