The best dental clinic in the South Sound area. The office is well located in Puyallup and is very easily accessible from the highways. There is ample on-site parking. The building is modern with clean exterior and more importantly an immaculate interior. You are greeted promptly by friendly helpful staff. The waiting room is comfortable though you won't be spending too much time there. The quality of service is another level up from most other dental practices in the area. The staff is well trained and seem very comfortable with the procedures. The assistants are well trained and know their duties. Hygienist Angela is extremely capable and it shows. Dr Nigam is highly knowledgeable and skilled. He has an incredibly easy way of explaining the oral health issues. Dr. Chen is also very good at his work. Unprofessional and disappointing. I schedule my appointments in advance and confirm the time at time of booking. But, if you don't respond to their text messages they'll give your appointment away. Today, I came for my 9:30 appointment just to be told it's a half hour wait because they gave my appointment to another person. Dr. Nigam and his dental assistant were amazing yesterday. I had to go for an emergency appointment due to pain. He was efficient, explained everything he was about do to, my pain is gone, and he performed a root canal through my crown and was able to keep the crown in tact-which is great since they're unable to make a new crown as of now due to this covid crisis. Dental services have always been fine but I recently paid $500 for Zoom whitening and am very unhappy with the results. Went back to discuss and they said the tech shouldn't have let me believe that the amazing initial results would be the final product as "the teeth will 'settle' to a shade closer to your original." I requested to do another round and was told no and that "your teeth ARE brighter" (they aren't). Not sure if I'll be returning for my regular care. read more

Had an excruciating toothache last night, called up 4 local dental offices around Puyallup. They all wanted some type of security deposit around $100, co-pay, etc. I then randomly stumbled upon Bella Smiles while searching Google, told them the same exact information over the phone as I did the other 4 offices. Bella Smiles took my insurance information instantly and set up an appointment within minutes. Filled out some paperwork in their office and the dental assistant called me. She finished my x-rays within minutes, told me Dr. Nigam will be with me soon. Dr. Nigam came in within 2 minutes and we chatted about my pain and he helped isolate my tooth (cold / pressure tests). His linguistic skills seemed far better than any of my college professors. A great communicator and explained everything concisely, nicely, and with no bs. Then the local anesthetic started for the root canal. No pain whatsoever from the injection, and that's without using topical! (As I requested) -- Took about 45 minutes for part 1, and will be back soon for part 2. I couldn't have asked for a better experience honestly. Great receptionist, great dental assistant, and great doctor. The only negative would be the entire crown thing. I've had root canals without a crown in my mouth for 6 years+ now without cracking, however, if it does... I'm screwed. I understand the crown's necessity, I'm just too frugal. In closing, I still have an array of issues (gap, amalgam black teeth, extra tissue in right cheek [non symmetrical smile], etc). I'm 24 and never been able to smile since I was 14 or so. I believe this office will truly help make my smile great again. I recommend them to anyone. read more

Upon entering the office you are immediately relaxed by the sound of running water. After you check in with the friendly front staff you can relax in the fine leather furniture. The hygiene crew takes care and does a thorough cleaning. I have never met a more informative doctor who takes his time with you to explain each procedure to you. I have been trying to find a dentist that I could trust and make my family dentist, but unfortunately did not happened this way. When I called BellaSmiles Dentistry to make an appointment, the front desk lady said that the x rays and examination was $95.00.. I arrived for my appointment, I filled out paper work, when I finished with my paper work, the front desk lady says to me that she needs to collect the $95.00 without me getting the service yet, and I asked her in a polite way why she is collecting my payment before receiving any type of service yet, she said to me in a RUDE tone of voice, this the rule in our office. First of all I have never encountered this type of situation in the past "asking payment before receiving service.. And here comes the WORST, the x rays were done, this doctor Nigmam comes to give me an examination of my teeth, he finished with examination, he sits in front of me telling me with a very ARROGANT attitude that I need to do this and I need to do that, and other procedures and that I have to pay more money for another examination and other x rays, which it was $490.00 more before he puts two simple crowns, he went on and on with different reasons, I was starting to get really uncomfortable, I just want it to get out of there as soon as possible, all he wanted was my money, I could sense the desperation of making profit out of me.. When you walk with God, the spirit of God reveals to you when there is greed of money in a person.. and this person Dr. Nigman got exposed to the light.. Awful, awful, awful! I have been a patient here for more than 10 years and had an appointment scheduled for myself and my daughter. I took the day off work, got my daughter out of school early and when I arrived a half hour early for the appointments as they requested I was told that our appointments were cancelled. Front desk said because I did not respond to a spam like text message sent to me a few days prior our appointments that our appointments had been cancelled per their policy. I could not believe it! I was never told I would receive a text and had to respond or the appointments would be cancelled! Also, there was no verification of my phone number to ensure the critical text went to the right number - and guess what - it didn't! Old number was texted! This is a very terrible approach to customer service and there was zero concern from anyone there of how this impacted myself and my daughter. I mean ZERO! Just a blank stare of "too bad for you". I guess they don't need customers that badly and it was proven by the fact the waiting room was EMPTY! Highly recommended. Beautiful facility, friendly and professional staff, and I can pretty much always get an appointment within a day or two. My whole family goes here, and I have to say that Dr. Fu is probably the most kid-friendly dentist I can imagine. My boys almost look forward to dentist visits. Dr. Nigam is competent and low-key and always explains your options. The whole environment, with the massaging chairs and classical music and all, is very... relaxing. I was hoping to make them my family dentist but unfortunately it didn't work out. The dentists were great, it was the their staff that was disappointing. The office is very nice, the dental chairs and stations are very contemporary and looks like it's all very expensive...clearly patients pay for this, BUT like I said...ONLY the dentists were great. The office staff, dental assistant, hygienists are AWFUL! Did I mention when I changed dentist, my new dentist could not do full x-rays on me because Bella used all my insurance coverage allowed for x-rays, two years worth! When I requested they send the full x-rays to my new dentist, they claimed I didn't have full x-rays done. Funny though, I checked with my insurance company and they were billed for it. I was so "over" dealing with their VERY RUDE receptionist, I just let it go. It was worth it, to not have to deal with them anymore! I started this review in 2013 but never finished it. I felt it was necessary, so I am posting it now. They did contact me about a year after I left asking why and I told them. Their office manger was very apologetic and explained that they have changed their staff but I explained I would still not return. She was understanding.
