This salon may be hard to find but is worth the hunt!…read more Lets start with the logistics: it is on 130 south south in a small strip mall. For those of you familiar with the area it is just passed the football field where Burlington city highschool plays games ( or did in my youth). They have flexible hours and will even come in on a Sunday or Monday! This is nearly unheard of in hair care circles. The salon is spacious and clean. They have about 4 sinks, 4 dryers and a tanning bed. They also have relaxing touches like a coffee machine, cold water, a couch, movies, and magazines. It has a vibe that says, "stay a while." In regard to the styling experience they use high quality products: I got Paul Mitchell shampoo and conditioner and jane carter styling products. They also had a bunch of shea moisture products and some kinky curly products. While i was there they were also experimenting with some of my favorite products including heena, dabur vatika coconut oil, and rose water. My hair loves natural things so this was a treat for me! In addition to the nice products they also had respect for people's time. While it is (of course) best to make an appointment they also take walk-ins. For those with an appointment you don't linger endlessly while they work on multiple people. Instead you get asked questions such as " how do you wear your hair," "how do you maintain your hair" etc. You get enough individual attention to feel heard. As a rollerset girl for life, I decided to branch out and get a twist out done. Sadly I remembered why I rollerset: TWIST TAKE FOREVER TO DRY. I can only do short stints under the dryer. But my stylist was kind enough to pin the twist into a style and invite me back the next day to have my hair styled. I was able to go out and enjoy my day and let my hair air dry. The next day I returned and was shown different options and allowed to pick how I wanted my hair styled. Overall I was very pleased with my experience. While i will always be a DIY girl it is nice to go to a salon where the stylist listen and make a genuine effort to hear your concerns.

There was another beautician there doing hair And she was also nice and very friendly. I relocated to this area from North Jersey (Bergen county) and have been looking for a salon for 5 years and have been dissatisfied after too many appointments. I have shoulder length natural hair for about 10 yrs now...I can braid and wash and blow and iron my own hair but sometimes you want someone else to do it Doris is very knowledgeable about African American hair and gives well needed advice which I appreciate. It came out awesome, I have natural 4c-4b hair texture, I say 4b due to many coloring to cover those grey hairs (yikes!!) I am going to trust her with highlighting my hair even though I am nervous about it due to my natural hair. Promise to post those pics after and update this review. The sad part was the stylist that did it was I think the owner of the salon and should definitely have known better. Even my mom said it looked just okay, something I could've done myself. Also they say you can't bring your kids if they're not getting their hair done yet the stylist let their kids (think 3 year olds) run around the salon. And she quoted me one price, let's say $65 and then when I got my receipt she charged me $67. I know some places charge a processing fee if you pay with card but they should tell you that. The only reason I'm giving them a 2 is because they were nice and my hair did revert back when I washed it and they didn't damage it.
