I'll start with the trite comment about giving zero stars if I could. My sister booked Bella Events and put down a deposit in Spring 2021 for her wedding in Nov. 2022. This week, Marsha sent my sister an email stating that she was cancelling my sister's reservation for another wedding of 350 guests. Apparently someone is being deployed, and my sister's date was the only one that worked. I'm sorry, WHAT? The entire point of putting a deposit down on a date is so that someone else cannot book it out from under you. Not only that, but the least she could have done was called my sister instead of leaving it up to email. What if it had gone to spam? Additionally, she should have called around to other caterers to see who was available on that date, and then referred my sister to them (instead of making my sister scramble to find someone else). If I'm being REALLY honest, Marsha should have referred this other party to another caterer, but this one was going to make her more money than my sister's, so screw the smaller wedding, right? Unless you like to play things fast and loose when it comes to wedding planning, book a different caterer. She's clearly only driven by bigger paydays and will leave you high and dry at the drop of the hat. read more

This catering company catered my husbands and my vow renewal and the food is to die for! Not only was everything well presented, my guests could not stop talking about how good the food was. They are so easy to work with, have plenty of options, and make substitutions for allergies. My youngest is lactose intolerant and she made dairy free Mac and cheese for him. She made potstickers, brisket, meatballs, and every bit was so full of flavor. Highly recommend her to anyone! Thank you again!! read more

I hired Bella Events to cater my wedding after seeing what a spectacular job they did at a couple of large annual fundraisers I went to. They developed a fantastic, allergy-friendly menu that accommodated vegans, vegetarians, celiacs, and those with the common top 9 allergens. Marsha was fantastic at communicating with me leading up to my event and Sadie, Tracy, and Heather, whom were all at my wedding, were fabulous. They got the food out to the buffet in a timely manner, made sure that me and my wife both got food and drinks without any hassle, and cleaned up the kitchen when they left. Additionally, the mimosas were spot on perfect, and they were just so much fun to have. I would definitely recommend working with them and hope to have the opportunity to do so again soon. read more

I first spoke with Martha about six weeks ago and booked her to cater my wedding. She was very sweet and accommodating, and was one of the few caterers who was willing to work with my budget. She seemed quite flexible and I believed she would do an excellent job. However, after I called her today and scheduled a meeting to discuss the wedding menu, she first verified the meeting and then texted me back, stating that her partner booked a bride about two weeks ago for my wedding date, and that they were unable to cater my wedding as a result. I replied that, as I had booked six weeks prior, it seemed logical to assume that my booking would be honored instead of the more recent client. She did not reply, and when I attempted to call her cell phone, she denied the call, leaving me unable to even leave a voicemail. While thankfully I was able to find another caterer, the likelihood of being able to do this at this date was not the greatest, and who knows when I would have been notified that my booking was cancelled in favor of another bride? In the interest of professionalism, as well, I would have appreciated a phone call and an explanation. Everybody makes mistakes, but refusing to explain in person, or explain at all, is very disappointing. read more

Bella is the absolute best caterer in the Roanoke area. They were kind, accommodating, and the food was delicious! Highly recommend!

The tasting and planning up until the day went great. Marsha was easy to reach. Then she told me her partner Tracy was handling my event and that I was in good hands. FALSE! Food was cold at the start of the evening. Menu items were NOT prepared to the agreed upon specifications. The "bartender" service we paid for was a woman Googling drink ingredients. The staff weren't even smiling or friendly while serving food. We paid almost $4,000 for cold food, some of which wasn't even edible. The pictures on this Facebook look great. The presentation given at tasting was great. Marsha's "pitch" was fantastic. But what I got on my actual wedding day did NOT live up to the expectations. read more

I am a wedding planner and let me tell you a little something about Bella Events. They are the dream catering company to work with. Marsha and her amazing staff are on top it. They were ready for cocktail hour before the ceremony ended and kept the guests happy during that time. You will not be disappointed with the food either. The food tastes amazing and their passion to ensure the presentation is just as amazing was refreshing to see. They were there early and left the space spotless when they left.
