It doesn't look to be that big when you are looking at it from the outside, but just like when you walk into the Tardis, you will come to find it's bigger on the inside! There are so many small treasures to find here and even if you walk in not looking for anything specific, I can guarantee you will find something for yourself or someone else. There are plenty of knick knacks to comb through and if you walk all the way into the back area, there is indeed a small grocery area that even has a fridge full of goodies to choose from. I hope this place starts to get some more recognition because it's truly an amazing little shop and I hope I am able to return here sometime in the future!

It's one of those shops that perfectly captures the spirit of the city while still feeling welcoming, creative, and genuinely community-focused. The location in Midtown is super convenient, with easy street parking nearby -- always a bonus in the city. And if you have time, definitely pop next door to Nest, which they also own. It has the same thoughtful vibe and is absolutely worth browsing plant-centric items. This is my go-to spot for gifts, although I'll admit some items mysteriously end up staying with me. The selection is fantastic: unique Detroit-themed T-shirts, beautiful jewelry, coasters, drinkware, cutting boards, locally made soaps, baby gifts, and so much more. Everything has a Michigan connection, and a lot of the pieces come from local artists and makers, which makes shopping here feel even more meaningful. What really sets this place apart, though, is the people behind it. The staff are genuinely kind, knowledgeable, and clearly invested in their community. You can tell they care about supporting local artists, small businesses, and the neighborhood as a whole -- and that makes supporting them feel good too. If you want authentic Detroit gifts, thoughtful local products, and a shopping experience that feels personal rather than corporate, this spot absolutely delivers. I always look forward to coming back.

It's every woodland fairy's dream, there are so many gorgeous nature inspired accessories, home goods, purses, and toys. The store is a perfect destination for high-quality one-of-a-kind gifts where you can buy a unique item, a card, some chocolate, quirky socks, and even fabric flowers. It's one of those spots that feels like a hidden gem. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted with that cozy, welcoming vibe that makes you want to stay and look around longer than you planned. I only planned to stop in for a few minutes but wandered forever. The shop is small but packed with personality. There were shelves full of quirky, thoughtful, and often hilarious gifts--everything from locally made candles and clever greeting cards to colorful mugs and Cleveland-themed merch. You can find beauty products, stickers, pins, home goods, puzzles, knit socks, like everything. It felt like every corner had something fun to discover, and I ended up grabbing a cute velvet makeup bag (great value, only $18). One of the coolest parts is that it also doubles as a shipping center in case you'll want to send something to your loved one. I chatted with the owner while checking out, and found her to be very friendly and genuine. It had that community feel--like a place people come to not just shop, but connect. Overall, Olie's is the kind of neighborhood shop I wish every community had: fun, useful, local, and full of heart. I'll definitely be back for greeting cards and gifts. Parking note: You can find street parking in the area or park in two nearby lots off Lee Road.

One of the things it's difficult to get at this time is obscure DVDs since Best Buy has scaled back their selection, and there really aren't DVD stores anymore, but they actually have a DVD section that has some fairly obscure stuff that is worth at least checking out if you're having a hard time finding stuff in town . Maybe they won't have anything that's really your thing, but I would say the store is definitely worth a browse

I found ring pop gummies here & my husband ate them in a day. Tons of toys & stuffed animals. One thing I will say is their prices were a bit high. But I imagine with cost of operation these days it makes sense and I am in a spot where I can support this small business (reasonably). It is a super fun store. Use caution bringing a small child into this store, as there will be several things within their reach and they will probably want to get their hands on everything. I honestly wouldn't bring a kid younger than 8 or 9 in this store. If you need gift inspiration, come to this cute store!
