But it suffices. There's a basketball court, playground area, fitness area and picnic tables. Inside (only open during the summer), there is a basketball court, and some table games. Haven't been inside for some time, so not sure what all is currently there. Not usually too busy or crowded, but there is almost always someone there, either at the basketball courts, the field, playground area, picnic tables, or fitness court. The "Fitness Court" is a national fitness program, and has a Google App that you can download to find other "courts" in other towns across the country, as well as see examples of how to do the exercises with the equipment, and keep track of your progress.

Small activity climbing playset with recentlyvredone safety sponge flooring. A few picnic tables in the shade and a large area for sports. The rec center here is the site of a well attended summer program and a couple of different sports practices like soccer. Lots of kids and lots of staff supervising. Have never had a problem with the kids at the park. Located a block from the East Mesa Pool. This is another plus. Also Nearby is the Sage Cafe Senior center which holds lots of activities like coffee get togethers, exercise, etc. Convenience store a block away as well as a Dominos Pizza. Generally a nice little park in an out of the way location.

The water was a little on the warmer side and there were three lifeguards on duty. This pool offers a huge rock climbing rock you can throw yourself off from and it had a basketball hoop.. It also has a toddler area and a regular swimming area. We decided to try the other pool out. This pool has three sections. One being the diving board area, where there are two small diving boards and one big one you can jump from. The middle section has lanes, and you can only be here if your going to actually be swimming the lanes. The last pool section, is the section that can be used to play around in and or if you have kids that just want to swim in an open area. This pool was COLD. Really cold.. Being a dependent I paid two dollars to get in. Kids 12 and younger pay $1 and 12 and older pay $2. Every Monday and Wednesday they close from 1 to 3:30 for soldiers use.

Every once in awhile I took my son to run around and buy an ice cream from one of the many ice cream trucks that park in the area. I've even had picnics with friends and family here. This is a pretty nice park to host a family reunion or party. It isn't as nice as Memorial Park or others but it's alright. There's lots of grass, baseball fields and a nearby recreation center (named after Gary Del Palacio, an El Paso businessman and community activist who was murdered in 2005). There's also walking trails and tennis courts here. Whenever we're in monsoon season (during the summer months usually), this park floods a lot. I've seen and heard a lot of tadpoles here. A huge pond forms all over the park. As gross as it may sound, I think people actually get into the pond/water. I would advise against it. There might be dog poop, who knows what else can be in the water? Overall, a pretty good park. Check it out at least once or twice. Pack a picnic lunch, chairs, blanket and visit. Don't bring beer or wine! Sorry!

You have ice cream trucks by the handful on weekends. It's funny that this park is under Album. It's actually called Eastwood Park. Since it is adjacent to Album people have got in the habit of calling it Album. Unless you're not from here, it's Eastwood Park. Tons of running tracks! Not a bad park and one of the best in EP!

Leaving Alamogordo, one leaves behind the desert Southwest and the scorching heat. Often times there's more than a 20 degrees temperature change once you've arrived in Cloudcroft at an altitude of 9000 ft. Leaving Alamogordo along route 82, one steadily climbs in altitude, with twisting and turning roads. The barren, rocky landscape changes to green foliage with huge pines. The views are spectacular as you enter in the Lincoln National Forest, and of note is this place - just before going through the mountain tunnel on your way up - it's a pullover site (capable of accommodating 10-12 vehicles and some motor homes). This is a "must stop" - not only for the views (one can see White Sands in the distance, about 50-60 miles away), but also for the interesting history of the surrounding rock formations, which is provided on the Lincoln National Forest sign. Make sure to stop here on your Hwy 82 journey between Alamogordo and Cloudcroft....and make it a "Kodak Moment".

From the…read morevalley of Alamogordo, these mountains look impassable, but this Highway 82 takes you up in a winding climb up into the clouds. When you reach the tunnel, there's this turnoff where you can admire the climb. We pulled over to take a gander- it's an amazing view. People are alleged to do cliff diving around here. There's a little hiking trail that takes you to get a better view of those drop offs. The tunnel is only a few hundred yards long, but long enough to honk while driving through for luck. It's a strenuous climb! I think this is some of the craziest driving I've ever done! It really does make a good place to pull over and make sure your vehicle is up to the task of driving from the valley floor to the clouds! I'm not sure why this is listed as Aspen, Alabama- it's outside of High Roll, NM, and even shows up on the Yelp search there.
