This is a review I left somewhere else, but it covers everything I need to say about this store.
This is an extremely terrible store. The people who work there, over half of them are rude, and would much rather stand around and talk with everyone instead of doing their job. The managers do nothing but walk back and forth all day and the Store Manager is hardly there and always takes days off.
The carpets are filthy and have feces stains from where some customers are too lazy to go to the bathroom. I'm not making this up. I've seen it and it's disgusting. One incident I saw was up there on the second floor near the clearance section. There is still a stain there. Same with dressing rooms. They smell and I'm certain the stains on the carpet are not from a drink being spilled. The dressing rooms with carpets smell so bad, I feel like I walk into a gym locker room. There is no air vents in a good portion of the dressing rooms.
The scheduling is by far, the worst I have ever seen in retail. Call outs left and right. They hardly have anyone there to cover departments. When there is supposed to be two people, they have one. Or, one person runs an entire department while three are somewhere else, talking up a storm. The only reason you might see more people now is simply because they had like, 20 spots open and scrambled to fill them before the Holiday season.
The management treats the employees terrible. They gossip, take sides and aim to get certain employees fired because one of the workers they like doesn't like them, or they just want to fire people just to bring in people they know. They also hardly help out on the floor. When they see a line of people, they much rather call someone else from across the store to help with a line instead of doing it themselves.
There is a group of girls who are best friends with the management team. They pitch fits to get a position or want someone moved because the person they don't like gets better sales. It is by far, the worst Belk store I have ever seen.
Only a handful of employees go out of their way to help customers. The rest? Not so much.
I would not recommend this store to work in, or shop at. I have many more horror stories to tell about this store, but this will just have to do.
Customer services is terrible, the store itself is terrible, I would not be shopping there anymore. I'll be paying my Belk Rewards card off and shutting it down.
PS: The bathrooms are so bad, the seats slide off. They had a customer there that slid off the toilet because the seat is so loose, no one fixed it. The managers blew it off like nothing. read more
