Let me start this off by saying that the acupuncturists are fine - we saw Heather a couple of times…read morelast year while pregnant and she was very sweet. Also Rebecca was my go-to acupuncturist off and on the last year and a half, and her cupping was amazing but she was a little rough with needles. I've seen multiple acupuncturists all over the US so I'm not new to this. I have been receiving care from them for a myriad of health concerns the last nearly 2 years. The last few months, however, I switched from private pay to VA and I was constantly hearing how difficult it was to get them to pay, contact them for approvals, etc. The administrator, Sandy was who I spoke with today stated I was "ruining lunch" by trying to reschedule and then proceeded to tell me that it would be best for me to find another acupuncture clinic despite my years of regular patronage. Attempting to get any appointment is like pulling teeth and I've been rescheduled on multiple times by them but I've made it work. I've also booked out appointments until mid-August that are all being canceled now and need to be re-coordinated with the VA Choice program. The staff is rude, inconsiderate, and obviously not being paid in a timely fashion by the VA and punishing me because of it. I'm happy to be seeing another acupuncture clinic that has more flexible scheduling, but their treatment of me as a combat veteran was ridiculous. I suggest you go elsewhere if you're considering this place.

When I came to Dr. Womack I had been suffering from chronic insomnia for almost 3 years. Every…read morenight I was sleeping an average of 4.5 hours. I was always tired and irritable; I found it hard to focus; getting out of bed was always a chore; I was lagging behind in my grad school work. I had tried everything I could think of to cure the insomnia: sleeping medication, cognitive behavioral therapy, a rigorous exercise routine, eating healthier, etc. None of it worked. I felt hopeless. I figured I would live with it the rest of my life. I was hesitant to try acupuncture. Like many people, I figured it was a sham at worst, and a placebo at best. When I walked in for my first treatment, Dr. Womack seemed to know what the issue was even before I had told him (which, at the time, only added to my incredulity). However, the results were instantaneous. That very day I felt as if something had changed inside of me (for the better), and that night I slept more than I had in years. I've been seeing Dr. Womack for almost 2 years now. I sleep so well that I hardly even think about it. My girlfriend even jokes "you can sleep through anything!" Acupuncture has contributed more to my health and well being than anything I can think of. And of all the acupuncturists I've seen (about 4), Dr. Womack is without a doubt the best. All that being said, it is a bit pricey. And offering student discounts wouldn't be unreasonable.
