There is a clear sense coming here that one is not in London, but someplace in the Middle East. Tables are packed to a point where you are closer to other diners than you are to the person sitting across the table. But, that is part of the charm. The overall vibe is fairly casual, with a pleasant outdoor seating area directly in the sidewalk. Lamb is incredibly fresh and is prepared extremely well. Served with a side of green peppers, it's simply a perfect plate and is certain to be a memorable meal.

It was my sister's 30th birthday and as a treat my mum and I took her out to lunch here. This place is a five star veggie dream in summer. The dining area is right along the river front without any road between you and the water you can sit there watching the swans and boats bob up and down. However, we came in February which made this a 3.5 star place. I'll give them 4 as the service was so good. The menu is extensive. We could have sat here for a good 45 min just making our choices, and after seeing the specials board, another half hour! This is a must for all veggies, it's a great place with a good vibe. The tables are all crammed into the small space, making it feel cosy and homely. Not to everyone's taste, but I thought it was lovely.

I returned a few days later, and he delivered on his personalized offer and even held my child to free my hands and allow me to get a bite. What warm service! You can only get take-away from here which is made within a very short time. There's a small seating area with magazines on a table and a tv on the wall if you want to occupy yourself while waiting. A young man was at the counter when I came to order food. He was on the phone and being quite rude by ignoring me. An old lady, who was probably the manager, kept on nudging him to finish the call (it was not a customer on the other end of the line) to take my order and when he did he typed something completely different into his computer. I told him to correct the order and be more customer-friendly. He also gave me wrong change, so I reminded him to correct that as well. Apart from that (and I have no problem dealing with such people), the food was well-done and tasted great. The portions were big enough to feel full afterwards and the veggies and meat tasted very good. If you want some fast food and are hungry for Chinese, this place is very nice if you can deal with the person behind the desk. ;)

As my mother is a vegetarian, we opted for a vegetarian mezze. We got a plain houmous, falafel, some flat bread, vegetarian moussaka and a mixed salad. The food was delicious and the falafel was piping hot and crispy when it arrived. I know falafel has the danger of being dry however this really wasn't and it complimented the houmous and salad perfectly. All of the food tasted really fresh and flavoursome. The service was also really good! We couldn't finish all of the food so we asked for it to be packed up in a take away container which the staff were more than happy to do. Furthermore the price was very reasonable however we did only have water so I guess that might have kept the price down as well. Overall, this is a great little place to visit should you want to grab a quick, reasonable and tasty lunch and happen to be in the area.

If you're standing in front of Faanoos then you have a choice of two other Persian restaurants within walking distance: There's Chella down the road (near the GBK end of Chiswick), which has a more Western atmosphere, and service, and excellent food. Then there's Rice, which is literally across the road from Faanoos. Even though the service is very good at Rice, I prefer the food at Chela and Faanoos. Things that are most popular at Persian restaurants are the Makhsoos, and the Chicken grill. All starters are worth a try. If you're not a grill fan then there are other dishes you can choose from. If you're walking past between 12-6pm then you can stop and have their Chicken or Lamb sandwich for £3.80, wrapped in their freshly made bread. And no, I don't work for them!! If the weather's good then I usually sit outside and have a Persian tea, or a Persian ice cream while I'm waiting for my sandwich! Enjoy!

Every item was well prepared but really just missed by a smidgen the deep authentic flavors of the food I grew up with and still enjoy in other London Lebanese restaurants. I enjoyed the food well enough but couldn't believe they did not have Lebanese coffee on the menu. I'd trot on just a little bit further to Edgware Rd and indulge yourself in the real thing.

When we got seated the table was dirty and sticky, so we kindly asked the waitress to clean our table. She came with a dirty, wet blue cloth and wiped the table. The dirt just became worse and smudgy, but she left like it's ok. Went in to ask again if it was possible to spray a cleaning liquid or something on it as it was still sticky. The guy said they don't use anything or have any chemicals to clean the table ( odd, especially during Covid times).OK. The lady cam back with our drink order ( wrong drinks!) we didn't even say anything, it's fine. The table was so wobbly that the drinks were sliding off the table... then we had to wait about 40 mins for the starter( we didn't even order a main) customers coming after us were served faster ‍ Anyway long story short, the service was awful, unkind and robotic, very bad English of the staff! I don't agree with the service charge as the service is incredibly bad! ( I always tip even if the service is average, but it was way below!) I wouldn't recommend it at all!
