We are from the pinxos menu and our meal was great. The local beers and txacoli was even better. Wife loved the food she ordered, pulpo a la gallega, and later stated it was the best she had in Spain, and she tried that plate at like 4 different places. When in Bakio, go to Birjilanda.

I particularly like their Bacalao, one of the best I had. In front of the restaurant is a café bar with a line up of variety of Pintxos across the counter. All seemed to entice you to "pick me up". Superb selections. On the other side of the restaurant is a picnic ground which is so great during the summer months. There's a playground at the bottom and a small museum too.

Once in the area, you immediately see all the boats along the Plentzia River. This is a fishing community and their seafood screams freshness. Casa de Marinos is a small hotel that holds a restaurant and bar on the 1st floor called La Terraza Del Uribe. Can't speak much about the Hotel since I didn't stay there. However the restaurant serves delicious pinxtos and affordable wines by the glass. Loved the Pimientos Rellenos, and a Lobster wonton. Can't remember what it was actually called but it surely was unique in taste. Enjoyed this restaurant so much I visited it twice and plan to go back on my next visit to the Bilbao/Plentzia.
