Started looking for restaurants and Capolinea was just 7 meters away. A warm welcome from the hostess/waitress (owner?). The atmosphere is warm and inviting. Somewhat rustic. Azienda Agricola Brangero Langhe, €30. The perfect wine for our lunch. There is no wine list, just a large selection of wines on displa that you can peruse to your heart's content. Tagliatelle Bolognese with an osso buco ragù. The flavor was rich. A perfect comfort food dish. Rabbit with potatoes. Lots of meat. The boiled potatoes were coated with unctuous fat. Millefogli for dessert. About average. Grappa, coffee. + Lighting, 2700K + Music - very low volume + Flatware - Pierfranco Grali, hefty + toilet - you must visit it. Clean, toilet seat, and an old 1920s forno. 0 napkins - paper, better than average €94 for lunch for 2

We were the only Americans in the joint, which to us was pretty cool - seems like a local spot. We ordered simply, a salad, pizza, soda, coffee - pretty good! One of the better places we ate in Italy, sad to say. Service friendly, good coffee.

Our Italian friends we were visiting were not happy to hear about our experience here and…read moreencouraged us to write reviews. We had lunch here one day while sightseeing. The location is convenient and there are nice views, but that's pretty much the best part. Food was "ok". Service was fine until the check came. The waiter hand wrote a line for tip and explained that tip would have to be cash as he couldn't add it to the credit card purchase. When we said we didn't have cash for a tip, the server told us about a bank just around the corner. This was very uncomfortable and our local friends explained that this is boarder line illegal. Tipping is very much optional in Italy and most of Europe. It's accepted but not expected. Servers should not and can not ask for tip so please beware. Tip for very good service, not because you feel that you should or feel pressured. After this experience we absolutely did not tip anyone who asked, we only tipped a couple servers who were working hard but still welcoming and friendly.

So we are in Milan on an excursion of the ship. We weren't given much time so we once again went…read morewith the first restaurant we saw. And once again, it did not disappoint. We sat down on the upper deck and had a great view of the entrance and got to see how this busy restaurant ran like a well oiled machine. We got some drinks and ordered our food. While we waited our waitress brought us olives, bread with olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette, and some chips. Everything tasted great and I loved the oil and vinaigrette. My GF got the penne chicken pasta and she loved how fresh and light it was. I got the tomatoes and cheese and that was amazing, but a bit more filling than I thought it would be. When my 4 cheese pizza came I was barely able to finish half. The chef brought the pizza up to explain that they lightly burnt the crust and wanted to know if I wanted them to bake a new one. The pizza looked great to me and again we were on a short timeline, thus we have some road pizza for the trip back to the ship.
