You can visit different guilds and learn about the history. Come with little things to barter and an adventurous spirit. Parking can be rough and sometimes there is a line and some disorganization getting into the event but despite that, we will be back.

We came early so there was plenty of parking still, but it can be hard navigating with all of the people trying to get in and out. Next time I think I will park in the church and take the shuttle bus and see if that is better. I like that this Renaissance Fair is big but not too big. Sometimes too big can get overwhelming, and you don't get to see everything. This one is a really good size and there are a lot of things to see and do, and tons of vendors. I will say a lot of the booths were very expensive for their Wares. However I don't have much to compare it to, so this may be standard for Renaissance Fair merchants and goods. I will say I have seen some very beautiful items, some of which definitely look like they have put a lot of work into. There were several places inside for food, and surprisingly the prices weren't extremely terrible, and the food was pretty good. I had Carnitas fries, and fried zucchini, both of which were pretty good. I loved seeing everyone dressed up, and putting so much effort into these elaborate costumes. There are activities and entertainment as well. The actors really get into character, and we got to see the procession with the queen in tow. Since it was my first time I didn't do a lot of the activities, but they did have some games, archery, Etc. We did stop inside the Beer Garden, which had some entertainment that was very funny. It definitely was more adult-oriented in there, which makes sense. They had people singing funny songs, and they held two contests while we were there, one for the men and one for the women. We were there for several hours, and if you do a lot of the activities I could see you easily spending the whole day here. It's a lot of walking so we're comfortable shoes. I enjoyed myself, and think I would do this again, as be participate in more of the activities.

Right off the bat, here's what I loved about this day: Big parking lot Dog friendly Live music A small‑business market Food We came on a weekend in October, so definitely check their website to see what events are happening when you go. Admission is free, but you do pay for parking. You can easily spend a whole day here, so I recommend bringing comfortable shoes, a hat, sunscreen, water, and even a blanket or chair. We arrived during a live band set, but seating was limited -- still such a fun vibe. You can also go in and out if you need to grab something from your car. They were grilling up backyard‑style burgers with sides, and it honestly felt like being at a neighborhood BBQ -- grab your drink from the cooler, pick your chips, add your toppings, and enjoy. I loved it. The pumpkin patch is huge and has every type of pumpkin you can imagine. I'd never seen white or black gourds before, but they had them here. There's a lot to walk around and explore, and make sure to stop by the farm shop for packaged nuts, seasonings, honey, and other goodies to take home. There were tons of vendors under tents and storefront businesses to check out. As we walked down the street there were different entertainers. Different businesses were handing out free items for the kids such as ballons, dental items, and trinkets. My kids had fun playing with the Robotic team's creations. We admired the artist's work at the "Art Garden." There were several vendors selling dog items. My biggest find of the day is Dolce Monachelli's. It's a family-owned business that makes bunt cakes. They were handing out samples of their most popular bunt cake the Italian Butter Rum. My kids all loved the sample so I decided to get the Sampler Box and the regular-sized unicorn bundt cake. The man helping me was so friendly and informative. They currently don't have a brick and motor store. They sell at Farmer's Markets, special events, and offer pick up. Overall, we enjoyed the event and plan to come back again.

A minimum of 40 booths, probably more, live music, food, drinks, vendors selling hand-made items as well as other things, and just an overall cool experience. Constructive criticism: I do wish they had more seating all throughout the event instead of just seating on one end of it, right in front of the live music that is blasting super loudly. I also wish they had more porta-potties throughout the entire event. Animals: pets are allowed here but there are tons of dogs and people, no dog food/water bowls, not much shade, hot pavement on their paws, and loud live music, so maybe not the best place for pets. Booths: they have almost everything! Toys for kids, clothes and hats for your dogs and cats, handmade soaps, a booth to register to vote, clothes for humans, Mexican food, popcorn, jewelry, bakery food, dentistry booths, veterinarian booths, people selling their hand-blown or painted glass art, and more! Very cool experience, and it's all right on Grand so all the normal shops here are open and ready for business! I absolutely love that they chose to have this on Grand Avenue. I try to come every year.

Had a really nice time at the festival and had some great food, and saw some good entertainment…read more First, this isn't a huge festival but if your nearby and love tamales and other good food it was a nice way to spend party of your day. I tried some of the best tamales I've ever had here. They were so fluffy and flavorful. There were a lot of other trucks that had desserts and other foods as well, so there was something for everyone. There were several vendors with booths set up selling various items. One booth had some of the freshest flowers I've seen at a great price! I bought a very nice bouquet of sunflowers for a friend of mine. They had a stage with various entertainment such as dancers. There was also a beer garden, but you could barely call it that it was so small. I went early so want drinking so I didn't care. Overall we enjoyed it and will attend next year.

My favorite is Bad to the bone, the pulled pork is awesome and sausage was even better. The sample size was very generous, and I spent all my tokens trying Pulled pork and Sausage. I came with a friend to check out this BBQ event. I had never been up to Vista before, let alone…read morethe Antique Gas & Steam Engine Museum. The weather was beautiful as a relatively mild breeze kept the temperature in the low-80s. I was so afraid that it was going to be well into the 90s with a scorching sun. We ended up parking in a satellite parking lot down the road which cost $5 instead of $10 in the main parking area. They used a tractor to haul a platform wagon with benches to shuttle us over to the event grounds and back. I loved the fact that the setup was dog friendly so we had a leashed pup with us. After getting our poker-like chips/tokens at the ticket tent, we wandered around the property and checked out the antique exhibits in the barns and warehouses. There were lots of neat, old fashioned vehicles and machines from the early 20th century on display. We then passed by the Tin Roof stage where various competitions were being held (e.g. Miss Q country style beauty contest, watermelon eating, best denim butt contest, etc). Back we went to the row of tents where about 10 vendors were selling their food for 1-4 chips each. To my surprise, the area was not at all crowded, and the lines were quite reasonable. I was under the impression there would be more booths than this, but apparently many teams were present only for the BBQ judging competition and not for selling their meats to the public. :( Of the different items we tried, a few spots stood out... 1) Bacon wrapped meatballs and bacon lollipops from Butler's Barbecue: These were each sold at 2 for 1 token. I wished more vendors had deals like this. The small bites were perfect snacks to get the appetite going for the larger servings. 2) Pulled pork and sausage from Jolley's Bad to the Bone Barbeque: The portion sizes were very generous for just one chip each. The pork was pulled thicker than what I was accustomed to, but the meat was moist and seasoned well. The sausage came as two links that were spiced nicely. 3) Bread pudding from a tent that hung a U of GA flag (no name posted): This was a nice sweet treat to contrast all the salted meat we were ingesting. The crust had a nice caramelization to it. Thank goodness I had heeded Jen G's advice and brought a stash of Ziploc sandwich bags. We had more tokens left than what we could eat on-site so the two of us began redeeming chips and placing the food in the bags to take home as leftovers for a future meal. Initially, we were worried that we would go through our allotment quickly because many items cost more than one chip each. Bringing our own bottles of water along with a picnic blanket to sit under the shade helped us stay cool and relaxed during the afternoon. The lengthy drive to Vista was worth the unique experience. It's always great to meet up with fellow Elite Yelpers at such events. Last but not least, the dog ended up very well fed from the BBQ, probably even more so than the both of us. :)

The festival was moved to the Vista Antique Gas & Steam Engine museum and it has been a great venue for this two day event held late September. They have Viking games, lots of Mead and Cider vendors, Viking clothing, jewelry, and leather accessories and the music entertainment has been phenomenal. We'll definitely keep returning whenever possible.

And the amount of people that we know that go here is growing. We meet up with several who also attend this event annually. And recognize lots of other regulars. I literally cannot wait to get the Swedish meatball dinner! It comes with smashed potatoes and lingonberries. Seriously it's the best combo. To drink is to have a drink of the times a cider or particularly a Mead! So many great and local vendors for that! This visit I got to try a free Viking Berry Monster drink. I don't usually drink these but it was actually a pretty nice treat & I liked it. This time around we came prepared with enough cash and credit...and had given ourselves a budget in order to get the drinks, food and just enough to get merch items that we wanted. I finally created a combo oil blend that I had gotten at a Renaissance faire, in No Cali, way back in the 90's! The oil is put into a vile of your choosing. So I picked a small one that doubled as a necklace. Definitely created nostalgia in a mini bottle! So much going on this year! It's a two day event and some stay and attend the entire weekend. Or they just come back the next day. If you like this sort of outing you should go!!!

The line was super long, and only after they made it to the front where they informed they didn't even need to wait in line! Should have been patrolled better. It was advertised that there would be 40 breweries there. That was definitely not the case. I counted about 8 lines. Everyone was grouped together in the smallest part of the whole venue. The lines took up to 45 minutes to move through. I'd think twice about going to another one put on by this company. Wasn't worth it.

THE MINDFUL MOVEMENT…read more Run. Yoga. Meditate. Held at Liberty Park NTC Station. The energy at this event was very positive and uplifting. It started at 7:30am but the actual event starts at 8:45. Good to come early to set up your yoga may infront of the main stage. Vendors and booths surrounded the main stage. My friend forgot her yoga mat and was able to buy one at the Adidas tent. A lot of healthy food and drinks sold through the day. No need to buy the picnic lunch when registering, you can pay there or walk to Liberty market to eat. Imagine over a thousand yogies (predominately females) and active people coming together to share this space and energy under the sun. - morning stretch lead by Mac Yogi - 5k around liberty station NTC park with Niki Klasnic - dj spinning awesome tunes by Dj Drez - yoga by Mary Beth LaRue (main stage) - meditation by Noah Levine (main stage) I had a lot of fun! I set up my scheduled activities when I first registered. The smaller activities br als off after the main stage meditation. Fun day of workout activity, yoga, dance, yoga, mediate. It was like a Coachella for yogies. And I'm not a yoga person and that is okay, they do a very chill yoga routine. The energy had me on a mindful movement. Until next year...
