In my early 20's I discovered Mike MacNutt & physiotherapy and was grateful that I did. Too many people don't realize that physio can actually make them feel better, and often very quickly! I have been seeing him for years for issues from a major ankle sprain to teen texting tendonitis (yep.. i had it!) and he always has a plan for healing, rather than just going in endlessly for appointments. He also always provides home exercises that will help and he opened me up to the joys of acupuncture. He and his business partner are both dedicated to health and wellness and specialize in sports injuries. I have also seen Andrew Caissie (massage) and Andrew White (physio) at various times. As long as I keep hurting myself, I will keep going back to Parkwest.

I've been going there off and on for the past 3 years and I highly recommend the clinic and Mike MacNutt as a physiotherapist. Mike truly cares about people as a whole. I highly recommend Mike and the rest of the ParkWest Physio team to anyone in Clayton Park or Bedford looking for treatment.

Somehow looking through the Yellow Pages is too...too...well...random. So I turn to the people I know and if they're happy with someone, I'll give him/her a try. Problem for me...none of my local friends or family have been. But Helen, my favorite checkout lady at Sobey's, in a few of our chats over the last couple of years has mentioned Dr Katherine MacAdam and told me she was a miracle worker. And she is! Just a few sessions with this very professional, very bubbly chiropractor and I'm a new woman. Plus she has a couple of amazing massage therapists in her office too...but that's another Yelp story.

He adjusted my lower back and neck and I sleep sooooo much better now!! I wake up in the morning to very little pain compared to a good deal of pain and stiffness He explained in detail what I should expect and what he can and cannot do for me. He recommended stretches and exercises that would help in my mobility and range of motion. I see him today for my first follow up and I cannot wait. Both receptionists are very professional and personable. They made great first impressions. If you have extended healthcare benefits please take advantage of them. My plan covered 90% of the cost and it was beyond worth it. What other medical care can you receive and just after one treatment feel like a much younger person. I am 50 year old man and now I feel like 30 again. Thanks times 100 Stephen Godin!!!.

Tucked away off Cole Harbour Road, this little place houses a chiropractor's office and a massage therapy room. The small waiting room at the front provides ergonomically supported chairs and plenty of information on bone and spinal health. Your bones are your infrastructure! But for as simple as the place it, it has just what you need. Chiropractic medicine is not for everyone. You have to be comfortable having your bones pushed and prodded and cracked back into place. The registered chiropractor there is very gentle, and does a great job of answering all of your questions and alleviating any concerns you might have about lying down on a table that's going to slide around and pop your spine into place. Plus, she's going to encourage exercises and stretches you can do to help keep your core strong and straighten your back. She can plan a regimen that will help maximize your mobility and minimize your pain. If you're like me and your problem is beyond skeletal and encompasses your musculature, you might need some muscle manipulation to work out the kinks. Luckily, the massage therapy room in the back is there to welcome you to your next phase of healing. A comfortable massage table, soothing music, and capable hands are going to work your muscles into submission. Their prices are comparable to other spots, and they can do direct billing if your insurance is set up that way. A move and a depleted insurance made me stop going there a couple of years ago. However, now that I'm back in the neighbourhood, I'll likely be going back for a helpful crack now and again.

I would get better service at a walk in clinic than at my previous family doctors office. Nova Scotia needs private family doctor health care options. WoW - 121!!! I have…read morebeen going to 121 since the Spring. With the promise of health and fitness in 15 minutes a week, how could a long time marathoner like me not be skeptical - I mean interested. The program is based on some sound science research and seems to enjoy sticking it to the classic anecdotal approaches to fitness - especially the existing dogma of cardio. Whether you ever drag your butt into 121, you should read the book: http://www.bodybyscience.net/home.html/?page_id=18. (FYI - the illustrator for the book is a good friend who lives a couple of doors down in Dartmouth) So, back to 121, the facilities are clean, modern and efficient. The mix of fitness sessions, physio and massage makes it feel more like a doctors office than a fitness centre. The program is based on one person, one trainer alone in the training room for 4-5 exercises for 15 minutes a week - now this is personalized! Having a trainer focus on every second of your training is a proven training technique for success - and the 121 trainers are excellent. They coach, cajole, cheer, encourage and do whatever is necessary to ensure that your muscles are max out - each time, every time, every second of the workout. Until you experience the exhaustion of 2 minutes of controlled max out effort, it is hard to appreciate this approach. But it works and 121 do it best! They use some administrative touches like variable automatic payment plans and e-mail reminders of appointments. Overall 121 has given me a crazy, almost unbelievable, experience that now has my muscles in the best shape in decades. Their professionalism, facilities and instructors helped me get through my skepticism - great thanks!
