Do not take your dogs to this kennel if you truly care about your dogs!!! The rescue I volunteer with learned the hard way. There is no way to know the level of care the dogs receive while here. Vicki is an older woman who has one staff member who helps in the mornings. This is the second kennel we have dealt with who have the funds and don't hire staff, which can only point to greed. That means Vicki herself is taking caring of her human partner in the home and their 8 animals, as well as the countless dogs being boarded there. Vicki is so up and down mood wise. She's terrible to "work with". She has been over 30 minutes late numerous times when dogs are being picked up or dropped off by rescue volunteers. She made everything difficult for the rescue I volunteer with, almost causing countless volunteers to quit. She makes up rules and regulations as she pleases. She has 3 dogs who were abandoned at the kennel who she won't even allow to find homes, instead they rot in those kennels. She has a Pitbull, shepherd, and senior Chihuahah who were dumped there and live there to this day. She had a rescue at her finger tips who has helped placed other abandoned dogs and yet she would rather these poor dogs suffer in a cage for the rest of their lives. This is not someone who cares about animals. This is someone who cares about money and that's it. The kennels are in bad shape and instead of repairing them, she doesn't. She has her own partner's dog and 2 cats inside the home. She has 2 of her own dogs in the home who live solely on the porch and 1 more who lives in the indoor kennels. These animals are not getting the attention and care when there are at least 20 kennels who often have animals in them. That is around 27 animals being fed by 1 person at night and 27 being fed in the morning by 2 people. Take your dogs to a kennel who truly cares about their dogs, who allow you to see the kennels with your own eyes and who have STAFF. This place needs to be shut down and it's only a matter of time until it happens. read more

Poor Customer Service and Poor Communication! I expressed my disappointment with how I was handled and now I MUST PAY CASH to get my Dog when previously I have swiped!!!!!!!!!!!! I dropped off my dog on the 25th of June 2024, Tuesday at 7 pm! Originally I asked if I could drop the dog off on Wednesday at 7 am due to my tight work schedule and the early flight. I was told no and was asked if could I come up with a better time. I asked if I could change it to Tuesday at 9 pm and was told that it was a better time! I did not stick to that time and was able to get my dog over earlier at 7 pm on Tuesday. I dropped off the dog with no problem, I was met outside and asked when I would be back. I said on Sunday I would be back to pick up Ivy. At that time I was not told that Sunday there are limited hours for pick up 5 pm to 7 pm. Fast forward to Sunday! I texted at 11 am in between connecting flights to inform Beech Hill I would be there at about 1 pm. When I landed at PHL I texted again I was on my way. I did not receive a response to either text. I figured maybe they were busy. I called when I arrived, there was no answer ....I texted that I was there and a woman came out walked passed me and asked if was I being helped. I explained I texted and called. I then received a long text about how the hours are 5 pm to 7 pm and have been for 40 years. I asked can you please make an exception because I was traveling for 12 hours. I was told no and was told how I have been giving exceptions in the past. I asked what acceptions. I was then told that I don't seem to accept that Beech flexibility has been done as a courtesy! My question is what exceptions have been made in the past? I was told the Kennel is full it is a Holiday weekend that the dogs are sleeping that Beech Hill will not stir that kennel up and that accepting it would be additional work. I was told that she was the only one there. This was not true there was another woman there that passed by me and asked was I being helped. I said this was the last time Beech Hill would receive my $$$$. I was then told that I must pay cash and they were not accepting cards, I never paid CASH and I asked if it was just me that you are not accepting cards or if is this for everyone. After that it was crickets! If you have limited hours why not tell the person as they drop their dog off (Sunday)? I feel disrespected and not valued as a customer. Why not let me know when I texted earlier on Sunday that I must come between the hours of 5pm to 7pm. Customer service is about the relationship between the customer and the business! The lack of communication disappointments me and how I am being handled! I have never paid cash and I do not walk around with hundreds of dollars! I have in the past swiped and my question is why now? I would love to post the text between us and I know that is not the proper way of handling this! I wish they would be cage free. A lot of boarding places are doing it these days. I think my dogs had a horrible and painful experience there. I feel so guilty for taking my pets there instead of finding a sitter to stop by or something other than boarding. read more

My dog was suppose to stay here for about 17 days since I was moving to new place and didn't want her to be nervous. My plan changed and I needed to pick her up after the 5th day. I called and they told me that I can pick her up early and get refund, but they haven't refunded me yet. They do not answer my call or voice mails. They charged me $540 extra for the service that I did not receive. read more

We left our two dogs here for two weeks and were worried about them because we have never left them before and we were not sure how they would react. After our two week vacation we immediately went and picked our dogs. Our oldest dog who is very nervous about most things looked very happy and calm walking on the leash with one of the employees. Our second dog who is very hyper also looked very happy and calm, for her. The employee told us everything about our dogs two weeks. My wife and I were so relieved that our dogs did well. We are going to use beech hill kennel again when we take our next family vacation. read more

I paid additional for my dogs to stay in the office and not kennel. My dogs are not kennel trained which is why I paid extra. My dogs were obviously placed in kennels because when one of my dogs was returned to me, her declaws had been ripped out. I know this was from her scratching at a kennel. Also, my other dog died recently. I have been praying and meditating a lot about him. And I have the strong sensation that my dog is telling me that this was a really bad place for him. read more

I had called at the end of June for an appointment at the dog park. After the receptionist gave me a date and time, I arrived on that given day. As I arrived it was drizzling- as she opened the office door she was surprised as to why I was there. When I informed her of my dog park time, she the responded that when it rains the dog park is closed. She mentioned that she had tried to call me I had asked which number, her response was she didn't have my number to call me. I figured I would give it another shot so I booked an appointment for today. I showed up at the given time and the receptionist again asked why I was there. I stated I had an appointment for the dog park. She had a young boy come meet me at the office and walk me back to the park. As I was walking through, the dog yards seemed very run down and unsafe. When we arrived to the "dog park", the boy shut the gates-which didn't close and had a wide enough gap that I could slip through. I said this won't work, not to mention the large chicken coop right next to the park. As we walked back to the office I took noticed of the run down yards, broken fences that were taken down by trees, and worn picket fencing. There was no sight of any dogs playing, as they were all in pens. I got my money back and the owner couldn't even come outside and apologize for the nonsense I went through twice. She sent the young boy out to do so who seemed so embarrassed of the situation he was placed in. I will never again consider taking my dog there, especially for boarding or day care. I felt bad for the dogs that were all penned up and showed no sign of given attention or active play. Maybe in the past they were seen good enough to be rated best of bucks.....at this point it's a run down yard that makes money off false advertising, she's unorganized with records, appointments and has no recollection of previous meetings. Let me start off with this... I did read some of the reviews for this "kennel/ dog day care" prior to going on our "tour".. my mind was 95% made up that I would not be sending my dog there for anything- but curiosity got me and we went for the tour anyway, just incase I was wrong... well, I was not and neither were the other reviews.. we walked in for our tour to be greeted by Kim- a dog sitter there, also the only employee we seen... She asked about the age of our dog and was very nice. She then took us out back and opened a gate to a large grassy area lined with fenced in, concreted areas. When we asked how often the dogs - who cannot socialize with each other except through these fences- are let out she told us not at all!!! I said what do you mean not at all??? She said that to get let out of the cages there is an extra fee for play time and walks with a human...I am sorry- most dog parents send there dogs to doggy day care to get their energy out and get better socialization skills!!! Then... I asked if they are kept outside all day- she said nope, they can go through the little flap door into a small secluded room and "rest" - of course I asked her if we could see the rooms and she said no, the floors were being ripped up!! are you kidding me! I cannot see the room and the floors are being ripped up?? and you want me to send my dog there? I cannot believe anyone sends their animal here for a day, let alone for boarding! My family and I just recently went on vacation and decided to bring our dog to this kennel for the week. After two days of being there, we get a call from the lady that they lost our dog. Hearing that our dog was lost while we were miles away was obviously terrifying in and of itself but more so with them being located on a busy street such as Street Rd. They did nothing to search for our dog. We ended up having family search for her while we were away and they were the ones to report a missing dog to the shelters, not Beech Hill Kennels. They acted like it was not a big deal. Ultimately, a couple ended up stopping after seeing our dog Roxy on a busy intersection about to get hit and they were the ones to bring it to the shelter after family reported our dog missing to them. The people at Beech hill Kennel had the nerve to ask us to bring the dog back there for the week which we obviously declined. When we got back from vacation we went to talk to the owner about the situation. She only refunded us half the money. She claimed that our dog bite her after she tried picking her up and then Roxy escaped under the fence and ran away. The first thing the lady said is "you're lucky i didn't report the bite." Mind you we don't even know where the bite was from since many dogs are there. We were already paying extra because she was considered an "aggressive dog" (shes a miniature pinscher) and paid extra to have her walked. None of which even mattered. You would think she would of taken the appropriate measures if already knowing she is an aggressive dog. Roxy has never run away or bit anyone for the 11 yrs that we have had her. We then asked to search the back and see the fence where she was "walked" and any small dog would be able to escape. She tried convincing us that our 10lb dog pushed through this fence to make it that way and got away. She also claimed this has never happened before which i find hard to believe. Clearly she was just let out and not being supervised. I am writing this post to inform everyone about this situation and to warn people considering to take their animal to this kennel. It is not safe, well kept or well run. They deleted all of our reviews on their Facebook page and even deleted the option to review altogether so i want to make this known. If you are thinking about taking your animal to this kennel, don't. I am so grateful my dog is alive and safe but with no thanks to them. Then for the place to not even be sympathetic and continue to try to justify losing our dog is absurd. So i give them a big thumbs down. read more

When I went to check the kennel out I should have listened to my gut. I asked if I could take a tour and was told no that the tours where provided on tuesday nights between certain hours. I was also told that I would receive a discount for either law enforcement or military so I went and made reservations for July 5th to the 9th was told I had to drop off on the 3rd and could pick up on the 9th and since I was doing it over the holiday I had to leave a hundred dollar non refundable deposit that if I had to cancel could be used for another service or another boarding. went in a couple days later to leave the deposit and the woman that was there on that date also confirmed that I would receive a discount for the boarding I informed her at that time my dog may be dog aggressive and that I just rescued him so I was not sure and was trying to set up an appointment to have him checked for aggression. After I provided the deposit information then I was given the policy information and the appointment was finalized with the contract being signed. At this time I saw that the kennel is not responsible for any loss of an animal for any reason to include fire, theft and if the dog escapes or runs off. When i questioned this I was told that was their policy and I could not receive a refund once the deposit was made. I am not in a position to loss a hundred dollars and did not have time to search for another kennel due to time restraints. When I dropped my dog off the young lady that received him seemed intimidated or scared of the dog ( a 96 lbs Germany Shepherd) when the bill was done I was asked if I wanted my dog walked or exercised and I informed them that I did I was then told that would be an extra thirty-five dollars since my dog had to be out by himself since there is a chance that he is dog aggressive. When I received the bill i noticed that there was no discount listed and inquired about this and was informed that since there was a chance of my dog being dog aggressive I would not receive the discount. When I inquired why i was told since y dog may be aggressive then I was not eligible for a discount I asked why I wasn't informed of this prior to making the reservation and was told I don't know. When I picked up my shepherd he didn't seem himself which I figured it was due to him being away but even after a couple of days he didn't return to himself and started to wheeze and cough. He was not the same animal that I dropped off to them. I would not recommend this kennel or use them again. read more

Despite what Michelle says, I believe she is 100% wrong about Beech Hill Kennels! I have been taking my dogs there for the past 5 years and have had no problems at all! My dogs always come home smelling fresh and clean. I noticed once in the five years of boarding my dogs there that my one dog had a small stain on her and the worker who brought her up to the front took her right back to the kennel and bathed her again all because of a little stain. They are friendly and make me feel comfortable leaving my dogs there. It is unfortunate that Michelle had a bad experience with Beech Hill because if they are truly as bad as she is saying they would not have been voted Best Of Bucks! I recommend Beech Hill Kennels to all of my family members and friends! read more

Beech Hill Kennels - Thumbs down..zero stars! I would NEVER recommend anyone board their pets in this kennel. My experience with this kennel was absolutely terrible! When we picked up our dogs, they were so filthy they needed to be bathed immediately. It's as if they laid in their urine ALL WEEK, which is so upsetting to think that my dogs had to endure a full week in those conditions! Then, after a few days home, I realized BOTH of my dogs were extremely sick, later to be diagnosed with kennel cough. Of course I called and spoke with the owner twice. First phone call was made the day I brought them home; second call, the day I took them to the vet. The owner of Beech Hill Kennels was not sympathetic what so ever. She offered me a free weekend of boarding...AS IF I WOULD EVER PUT MY DOGS THROUGH THAT AGAIN!! I should have known something was amiss when I requested to see what their living quarters were going to be for the next week and I was refused. It has been a week and I am STILL dealing with the aftermath of my dogs horrific stay at Beech Hill Kennels. read more
