This has been a North Balwyn institution since I was a little girl and it shows no signs of closing down anytime soon. You can smell the delicious chickens from a mile away and as soon as you step inside you are overcome with the sight of crispy meals, a huge array of salads and some pretty tasty chips. This is the perfect destination if you can't be bothered with cooking. You can either opt for the unhealthy options: chicken and chips, or try something lighter: chicken and salads. The service is quick and efficient and the staff seem nice enough. You can either eat in, or take away. The setting isn't very intimate or comfortable so I generally opt for the latter.

The staff are very friendly as well and will occasionally put an extra potato cake or small piece of fish in for free if you are a regular. I have taken international visitors from Europe and the US here to get lunch and they are all amazed. One french visitor demanded to be taken back there on his return trip to us. Warning -Flat out on Friday nights as you would expect and don't expect hipster sushi or deep fried kale.
