July 2026, we went to mattress firm because my husband and I were literally in pain everyday from…read moreour current mattress. In 2023, we bought a model home, and we kept all the furniture in the house. I loved the primary bedroom bed and slept so well, but 3 years later it was time for a new one. I expected to pay $800-1200 dollars for a mattress that may have been like a Sleep Number since my husband kept insisting we needed customized comfort levels. I met salesman Kevin. Keven reminded me of someone that would be a surviving character on THE WALKING DEAD. He was friendly and had knowledge of all quality mattresses, yet if zombies were to take over the world, I'd like to join forces with Kevin's camp. He'd probably have all these weapon's, booby traps, and pebble and moss soup that you'd find flavorful because only he would have invaded an abandoned Walmart and went straight to the seasoning isle. Anyway, for some reason my husband loved the most expensive bed there. Sighhhhhh, THE TEMPUR-Active Breeze mattress. WTF?!?! Who spends that much on a damn mattress? We obviously did! (SMH) I tried to get my husband to look at others, but he was insistent that this was the best long-term mattress for these reasons.
1. We'd each have our own individual (split) mattress with our own remote. The bed isolates movement so if him or I move around we aren't disturbed by the motion.
2. Dual-Zone Climate Control: If he's hot he can push a button and cool just his side, and because I'm always cold, I can heat up my side only.
Active Bed-Warming: A built-in heating feature allows us to gently warm the mattress for up to 60 minutes at bedtime or upon waking.
Three Cooling Levels: I can select from Low, Medium, or High active cooling modes, which can run consistently for up to 10 hours using ambient room air.
3. He can finally stop sleeping with additional pillows around him trying to get comfortable. Now he can raise the top or the bottom of the mattress however high or low he wants.
While in the store he kept lying on the bed, smiling like he was sleeping on a cloud, when I just felt like I was sleeping on monthly payments! Anyone that knows me, knows that If I were to win the lottery today, I'd still shop at Walmart and use coupons! I'd have 365 million, and no one would ever know as I drive around in my Kia Seltos. (I don't have a Kia Seltos, but I like them!) I allowed him to talk me into this bed, and it was delivered to our house within two days. Kevin even threw in some complimentary sheets.
After a few days I slept so well! I was looking forward to going to bed! Not for the reasons my husband listed but for these additional perks!

* Adjustable Lumbar Support: Offers dedicated ergonomic lower-back support that can be electronically raised up to 6 inches.
* Ergonomic Presets: Features standard adjustable base modes, including head and foot lifts, TV-watching angles, and a weightless Zero Gravity preset.

Now, October 2026 the bed is paid off, my husband hates this bed! He wanted this bed so badly and now that I am in love with it, every feature annoys him. If I put on the frequency massage feature that helps me fall asleep so quickly, he says he can feel the vibration and it keeps him awake. Sigh. I've been using the cooling levels for FOUR months now, and now he says it's too loud and sounds like a garbage truck! NO IT DOES NOT! I'm not only angry that he hates this bed now, but for the price we paid I can't even enjoy it, which is no fault to Mattress Firm. I didn't originally want this bed, and I wouldn't buy it again because of the price, but I have nothing bad to say about it either. I guess for me it's like buying a Mercedes Benz that's just sitting in the garage, when you would have been just fine driving a Toyota 4runner. I don't get to enjoy this bed the way that I want to because everything about it annoys my husband. I sleep with a white noise machine, so I don't know how he hears a "garbage truck" while I'm cooling my side of the mattress. Overall, this bed is NOT hard to enjoy if you do decide to purchase it. If you do decide to go with the split mattress option, split fitted sheets come in so many colors and can be purchased for $40 on Amazon.
