This shop always has so much affordable costume jewelry, that I can't walk by without going in. They carry items from the Butler Wilson line and offer great sales several times a year. The staff is wonderful about ordering items from London and will even phone and speak to the designer while you're there, to make sure that you're happy with the request. This is the place I go when I need a gift for a teenage girl or woman.

This store is mid-sized with a bright, slightly clinical feel. It is generally quite tidy and well laid out with menswear at one side, ladieswear at the other and childrens wear at the front left as you enter the doors. Although the prices are discounted, I wouldn't go so far as to say they are cheap - although there is usually a sales rack in the middle of the shop that do have a few items that are cut to half price or less (although it is often easy to see why this is the case!) Being Gap - they do have a good range of jeans and casual tops but their childrenswear has the best appeal. Casual and cute, they sometimes have good discounts and can be well worth the price.

You dont get points or rewards although it does come in handy if you have lost a receipt and they can look back at the records. The clothes are cheap but not as cheap or indeed the same quality as Primark. The houseware dept however sells good quality bedding and towels and crockery and for this reason I would shop in Matalan, good quality and good prices. Its just a shame that it is out of the way.

Mendip fireplaces are located on the outskirts of Shepton Mallet on a industrial estate which can make it difficult to find. Once you have found the right place there is plenty of parking the building doesn't have wheelchair access and is entered by doing up a flight of stone stairs. The shop is warm but a little dark due to the lack of natural light. Mendip Fireplaces will deliver large items such as fireplaces and ray burns. This can be arranged at a time that suit's the purchaser. I have been into Mendip Fireplaces after buying a fire to return a damaged accessory and get it replaced. The man who I saw was very helpful and dealt with the problem swiftly by replacing it.
