I love this library, and it's a go-to place for my kids. This particular branch is especially impressive, with its spacious two-story layout. The interior design is stunning, featuring a wooden finish and high ceilings that create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Everything is incredibly well-organized, and the staff is always friendly and helpful. The library has extensive resources, from books to music CDs, DVDs/Blu-rays, and even video games. There are also large meeting rooms available, along with study rooms and a computer area upstairs. For children, the library offers a dedicated area with storytime rooms where staff read to the kids. The children's restroom is also well-maintained, which is a big plus. What really stands out are the numerous activities for kids, like "Messy Art" (which involves blow painting) and "Truck Day," where children can experience fire trucks and meet firefighters. Make sure to check their website or the events wall section for more details on these activities. The library also has plenty of self-help computer stations and a lot of open seating and desks on the second floor. The children's area is a lot of fun, with features like the Toddler's Treasure Chest. However, the Adult Restrooms on the first floor, especially those located outside, could definitely use some improvement--they tend to be dirty, and I've noticed that homeless people often come in and out.

Update: since they got a permanent storyteller, my rating has gone down. The new lady doesn't really like young children and has all kinds of "rules" like don't come within three feet of me (because I might bump/hit you by mistake), if the toddler is emotional, take them out till they calm down, don't let you toddler run around while I'm reading or leading group, we start after I am ready and end in 15-20 minutes (never said but always done), you can't wait in here for the next session, you have to go out and wait till I'm ready to start again. How do you expect 1-2 years olds to do this and enjoy this group? Bring the subs back! They loved the kids and made the story time fun! I feel like the permanent lady is just doing this for the paycheck!

I love this place. It's: safe, convenient, accessible, and clean! When I first moved to Portland, I was job-searching and needed somewhere to get out of my apartment and be around people; I found that place at this library. Since then, I've gone through a few phases of checking out new cookbooks from the library (this has been really fun and makes planning my meals a little extra exciting) and combing through some philosophy books. My boyfriend and I have had some fun library dates here and wow, the trees around the library are so beautiful when the leaves drop!

Lots of books and one castle.

This is a wonderful prototypical small-town library, with lots of books (unlike some of the branch libraries); sitting areas for reading, studying, and using computers; long racks of books, some audiobooks on CD, and bunches of things I haven't yet discovered. It's also next to the plaza where the Saturday morning Beaverton Farmers Market is held, so there's a two-for-one for you :-)

Our local library really does a great job of staying involved with our community. I will say that it is also probably one of the cleaner and kept up libraries that I have encountered down to the lawns and front entrances.

It is hard to beet a good library. This one is just that nice, It is laid out on two floors. So many books, movies, cos... What a great place. I came to drop off my ballot. That was easy the box was up front. Across the street in the park, farmers market was running. That was nice. then just looking around at all that they have to offer. While here I finally got around to signing up for a Washington County library card. Now I don't have to go to Portland every time I want to check something out! It was fast and easy. The clerk at the desk just walked me through it. Now to go online to see what they have there!

Beautiful library with a unique wooden structure inside. Will be coming more often since it's a perfect place to study!

    Top of the Beaverton library.

There's a section of Best Sellers that current popular books are available for check out. I've checked out some epic reads without having to wait. I like browsing the shelves and seeing staff picks placed on placards next to the book on the shelf. I've read many books that I wouldn't have read otherwise from the recommendations. I've recently started checking audio books and books on Kindle through the Libby app. I love it! I love that they do different events. I've taken my grandkids to family friendly events. Last week I had to check out the current artwork being displayed. I was mesmerized by the Warrior Women Portraits by Danyel Rogers. I received an email that there was an artist reception being put on for her. Many of the subjects of her photographs were in the audience. The reception was nicely done. I hope to make many future events!

So many others have mentioned the books, DVDs, library of things, Kanopy subscription, events and…read moreother elements that make it worthwhile to hold a library card here (the donuts aren't bad, either). But I can think of three reason off of the top of their catalog to keep going here: 1. Flamer by Mike Curato 2. Beyond Magenta: Transgender Teens Speak Out by Susan Kulkin 3. Heartstopper, by Alice Oseman You don't have to travel very far from Brookwood Parkway to find people who want these books taken out of kids' hands or incinerated just because they're unwilling to have conversation with their own children or unable to cope with what those conversations might mean. You don't have to pretend that it's only the burden of far-flung portions of the state to deal with those who'd prefer to ban books than discuss their context or meaning. In the library's backyard, there are folks with a friendly smile on their face and a cup of coffee to sell you who'd have each of these books removed expeditiously for specious reasons while outright slurring the people depicted within the pages. Granted, they call a lot of these same good folks neighbors, clergy, employees, family, and "friends" while taking their labor, payment, and tithes, but I guess letting people reach their own conclusions about their stories is the step they won't take. Well, many thanks to the Hillsboro Public Library for offering these books to anyone willing to read them. A library is often a first step along anyone's journey of self discovery (someone in the comments figured out they wanted to make horror movies, and started that walk here), and offering them the freedom to do so is a foundational portion of a public library's existence. Instead of closing that road, more of the library's neighbors should come along for the trip.

You can search for specific things to read, browse librarians' and others' recommendations, sign up for Zoom events, etc.. You can also request purchases to add things to their collection and if that's not an option they'll make an interlibrary transfer -- eg, from somewhere else in Oregon or Washington -- on your behalf and find whatever it is you'd like to read and have it sent to your preferred WA County branch for pickup. This library has many different spaces available in order to get your school work done; whether it be solo or with a group. There are six floors in the library, half of them are quiet study and the other half allow talking in order for group work to happen. There are quite a few private group study rooms that are available for rent to students (be sure to reserve these way in advance during mid-term and finals weeks). The library has a whole slew of computers as well as several print stations. The print stations are hooked up to web print so you can conveniently print from your own laptop. There is a reference desk located on the second floor. If you don't know where to get started in this large library. you should stop by the reference desk first. I've also had a bit of luck having them help me with my research. These librarians went to school to learn how to research things, go take advantage of their expertise! I also enjoy the various views I can get depending on which side of the library I decide to it on. If you sit on the east side of the building (the front) you have a nice view of the Park Blocks and a beautiful tree that grows right in front of the library. If you head to the west side you get a view of the football field. I have had much entertainment from watching everything from soccer and football practice to martial arts practice and cricket games.
