We thought it would be a good place to take small children, but it's not very large. They do have put put golf and a small playground, but my youngest just wasn't that interested, and my other friend that brought her family didn't really care for it either. The gentlemen in "charge" of this establishment is very unprofessional and should not be in business with his amazing ethics. Hadn't even stepped foot into the place and I was already being called stupid and told if I didn't move my vehicle he'd toe me from across the parking lot. No reasoning no no parking l sign other than parking where he thought I shouldn't and making a huge unprofessional problem out of it. Parking on a gravel hill wasn't allowed but parking in a massive draining ditch was acceptable. Mind you the sign said parking for mining company only directly infront of the original spot. I wouldn't go to this place honestly he doesn't deserve the business there are plenty of other places in broken bow to spend your money and have fun. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere Edit: not only after trying to be cordial and speak to the gentlemen who called some stupid and when I asked him why a cone or something wasn't in place of it and that maybe being kind and approaching it in a different way he told me to F off and he was the owner and to get the f out of there. The bag had at least 1 of everything on the pamphlets they gave us with all the items you can find. Fun activity for kids!! Definitely recommend. Probably best for ages 5 to 10. Our son is very interested in rocks and stones so this was fun for him. You buy a bag of gravel and rocks (I suggest the 10 lb one--it's a good size and worth the money). The kids get to pour the gravel into a sifter, wash it in a stream of running water, and look for semi-precious stones in the sifted tray. The yield on our 10 lb bag was good. Plenty of stones to find, lots of variety. It was a nice vacation activity and the stones make a good souvenir. read more

I did not want to continue dealing with a rude bear. We were reimbursed with 2bags of gems not 3. And you won't get a refund no matter how rude they are. This was on a Saturday March 16th 2024. We did come from out of state to do this activity with the children and the Beavers Bend Mining Company was a chaotic mess. From the miniature golf, to the mining, to the wax hands, Folks are traveling and spending good money to have a good time with the kids but I feel they are taking advantage of with this motherload and mega strike gemstone bags basically being the same bags but $30 more for the other. Let's get the facts straight. This is a scam and I'll tell you why... They advertise a Motherlode/10 lb package for $34.99 which includes a large druzy amethyst. Then there's the Mega Strike/20 lb for $62.99 which includes a huge druzy amethyst and a large Crystal point. So you can pay $28 more for about 10lbs more which includes the huge amethyst & lg. Crystal. My pictures clearly show the difference between a $63 bag and a $35 bag. The $63 bag (left side) contained what I was told is a huge druzy amethyst (top left) and the large Crystal is in the bag with the other gems not of significant size compared to the other gems and stones. But as you can see the $35 bags (right) also have a pretty good size rock that does look like an amethyst and I would say it is large as advertised. Here's where the scam part comes in, $28 more is paid for what seems to be the same amount of gems and stones as a $35 bag but you are supposed to get a huge amethyst & large crystal as advertised. I received a large rock about the same size as the ones in the $35 bags but nothing close to huge. Over priced for a bag of rocks and dirt. The employees were nice, but we were underwhelmed with the total experience.

First off, if you can, go with the largest bag. Our son loved it! We did a little at a time as he played like he was a pirate and looked for treasure buried in the sand bag. It took us about 20-25 minutes to sift. We would've stayed longer but it looks like most of it was under construction at the time of our visit. I say if you or your child(ren) love rocks or to search for treasure or like sensory activities, this is a fun experience! read more

We bought the mother load bag $30 .. and honestly it was quite a disappointment: We only had about 2 bigger crystals (over 1" tall) and the rest were nickel size or way way way smaller. The amethyst druzy that we got was the worst quality amethyst I've ever seen. I can't believe they even put that in the bag. Many of the small "crystals" were absolute fakes. Maybe most people can't tell the difference, but I spotted them all immediately. There were plenty of those in the bag. I'll be back to update this with photos. read more

This is a fun and educational activity for kids. It's also not terribly expensive, which is nice. The staff member who helped us was friendly and informative. She helped each child pick out which bag they wanted to mine. The choices of smaller bags were fossils, arrowheads, or gemstones and crystals. There's also a really big bag that was more expensive that contained some of each. My kiddos, ages 5 to 12, really enjoyed sifting small amounts of the silt in the water and discovering what was hidden inside. I would recommend it for kids ages 5 and up. My 3-year-old was more interested in putting his hands in the water and playing with the rocks than actually doing the activity. read more

My kids, 6 and 3 both had a fun time mining for gemstones. My 6 year old even enjoyed sorting them out later to find out what stones she got. It is very tourist trappy, everything costs money, but for our part the gemstones were 10 bucks a bag which was worth it. The staff was friendly but I find it awkward that when they ring you up they ask if you want to leave a tip. For what? Checking me out and telling me to go outside? While you may consider this place as a tourist trap, the staff is amazing and was so helpful with my son. He loves rocks and one of the owners recognized that, she sat down with him and talked about all of the rocks he had recovered from his sluicing. Show me someone who says mining attractions are for kids, and I'll tell them phooey! We recently stopped here on a trip to Broken Bow and were pleasantly surprised. At first glance this appears like your standard issue roadside attraction, but it is anything but. The staff greeted us with a smile, even on a dreary fall day. At the time of our visit they were out of the gem stone pack, but I was ok with this since I was on the hunt for arrowheads or fossils after all. I purchased my bag of mining materials and helmet and was off to pan for a mystery prize. Upon choosing my sifter, that was surely to bring me all of the good items, I poured some of my sediment into it and slowly submerged it into the rushing water. As the water slowly washed away the debris I was left with one arrowhead - but don't fret for we are not done yet. Slowly with anticipation I poured the remainder into the sifter to see what the fates had in-store for me. With much apprehension I lowered the sifter into the rushing waters and discovered a true jackpot of 6 more arrowheads! If you too want to take part in a grand adventure such as this, please ensure you stop at the Mining Company. I will return in the spring after the winter freeze to see what new attractions that the Beavers Bend Mining Company has in store for me, hopefully not being thrown in jail this time! read more

Had a great time here! My husband and I purchased the 'motherload' package and really enjoyed the 'mining' and the rocks and gems we collected! Would stop by with kids, family, or just my husband again! :) Also the blacksmith station next to it looked really cool- the petting zoo is also in the same parking lot. read more
