Plenty of other food options around. Highly recommend the Mexican restaurant next door. Rooms were large, we had the single king room and you could have fit another king in the room. All in all would definitely recommend staying here.

The interior and exterior of the hotel were very well kept and decor was modern and not outdated. Our room was a handicap room (we knew this when we booked) due to a full hotel and this was the only non-smoking room with double beds left available. We thought our room had a slight odor, but it wasn't bad enough for us not to be able to stay there, besides we knew there weren't any more rooms available. That was the Only thing that kept us from leaving a 5 star rating...we would give a 4.5 if it were possible. The indoor pool area was small but clean and well kept. And of course my children loved it. The bathrooms near the pool were exceptionally clean. A continental breakfast was provided and offered a good variety. We were pleasantly surprised with the breakfast and selection. There were the traditional pastries, cereal, yogurt, waffles, and breads along with sausage, gravy, biscuits, folded eggs, and egg and cheese omelets. Everything was tasteful and the staff servicing the breakfast was friendly, positive, and outgoing. There was a 24 hour coffee bar (regular and decaf) available in the main lobby. It was well stocked with multiple types and flavors of creamer, and various sugars and sweeteners. The coffee was very good and the bar well used by my family. There was also juice available all day and night. Our room included the following amenities: ironing board, iron, hair dryer, refrigerator, flat panel TV, free reliable WiFi (a speed test showed our room giving 1.6 Mbps), telephone, small table w/2 chairs, the tub included a handicap seat that could be folded up when not needed, also there was an adjustable shower head that could be raised and lowered and removed to be handheld if necessary. The air conditioner in our room worked great and kept the room very comfortable. The beds and pillows smelled fresh and were very comfortable...my whole family slept well. Overall the noise level of the whole hotel was pretty quiet. There was a short period of time in the morning when it was noisier, we assume because we were fairly close to the breakfast area and front lobby. There were several restaurants close by and some within walking distance of the hotel. We were very pleased with this hotel and would recommend it to anyone needing a good, clean place to stay in Central City.

My family & I checked in after a straight drive from Texas. The gentleman allowed me to check in at…read more6am. He was very polite. Great experience the 1st time around, so I decided to check in here weeks later. His hospitality was very appreciated. The A/C didn't work all night, but i didn't want to bother him & he told me in the morning that any time i need something or if something isn't working, to contact him at the front desk. I very much liked him. 2nd experience & 3rd experience, the woman was very rude & stand off-ish, my stay wasn't as pleasant or accommodating. She scoffed at me when i walked in bringing my son's items into the room like she was inconvenienced by my presence. Funny how the only review here was from six years ago and the toilets STILL don't work. I said something about it the 2nd time and it wasn't until my 3rd stay here (the next day) did she send her daughter with a plunger. Did not help they need to get their plumbing fixed because my 1st stay here with my family, my brothers joined rooms toilet didn't work. I decided to stay here 1 last time in hopes for the best, but that was my last straw because there was an infestation of ants that ruined all the food i had. The ants got into my son's sealed formula container. My mom stayed with my son & i and told me she was bit all night from the ants on her nightstand. She didn't eat so the older man in the front desk can't blame the food that was left out. I asked if i can be compensated with a room or refund & he said they don't do that. I thought the woman was rude, but this man tops her rudeness. The older man must be her husband. The bedding probably hasn't been washed in years i had rashes, however i enjoyed my initial stay here that i didn't let it bother me. My family & i will no longer be going back. Thank you for the stay but no thank you. I hope you treat your other customers nice, lady because you are not at all a welcoming presence. You should be more like your brother, he was very nice. Too bad i'll never get the chance to thank him for his kindness. It was honestly the best thing to 1st see when arriving to Kentucky. *EDIT TO ADD* i was advised to contact the Health Department to file a complaint. Which I now will be doing, considering between now and the past 5-6 years, the plumbing issue still has not been fixed. on top of the ants and roach and bed bugs infestation. Thank you.

I just came to town for a new job and my employer paid for me to stay here for 2 weeks!! This is…read moreabsolutely the "WORST" experience of my life! I've traveled a lot and have stayed in hotels & sometimes motels all over the country, some of the places I've stayed have been in large cities where you can expect to get a bad room sometimes because of the amount of people staying. But you would expect in a very small town that a hotel would have a decent room! Well that is not true! The rooms are so nasty that I won't sleep under the cover on the beds! I pulled the very outdated, nasty bed spread off the bed and went to Walmart and bought a throw to put over me! Then the bathroom is horrible! It's dirty, so again I have to go and buy cleaning supplies to clean the bathroom before I would take a shower! The phone in the room i guess is just for looks, because it's not even plugged in nor does it even have a cord to plug it in! On my 2nd morning I get up for work and go to the bathroom and the toilet won't flush! I take my clothes off to take my shower and the shower won't work!! I go to the front desk to see if I could go to another room to take a shower and nobody is anywhere to be found! So I have to go to work without a shower on my 2nd day of work! When I get home from work the lady at the front desk tells me that they will let me switch rooms because the shower and toilet is not going to be fixed in my room for a week! So I have to pack all of my things and move to another room! The lady at the front desk I find out owns the hotel and she didn't apologize or anything for the inconvenience! I checked in on Sunday and today is Wednesday and there has only been 1 other guest in the entire place since I checked in! And with all of this, the price isn't cheap! They gave me the bill when I checked in and for 2 weeks my employer paid $874.00 and that is with a discount!! So please if you are in town for any reason and need a place to stay go somewhere else!!

If I were going to give a down check, it would be the very pricey restaurant that is on the property. Very good, but very pricey. We usually opt to get a delivered pizza! Mary, the bartender for the managers reception and Damian, treat us very personably almost like family. We don't mind spending a couple extra dollars there due to that. And another thing, they have an automatic toaster at the breakfast area that toasts perfectly the first time and every time! I wish all the Embassy Suites would buy that particular electronic toaster! Keep up the great work!

Upon entering the lobby,…read morewe were impressed with the welcoming staff, cleanliness, and the fun decor features (green wall behind the front desk, water feature, fire place by sitting lounge & outdoor fountain/ fire pit). Throughout the hotel hallways, you'll find many artfully designed pictures of different corvettes, as this location isn't far from the Corvette Museum. Our room was spacious and clean with a view of the outdoor fountain. The room was insulated well enough to not hear our neighbors or people walking down the hall. Happy hour included a choice of beverage as well as different snacks - and if you have a non alcoholic preference (i.e. for kids) during happy hour, there is no charge for those. The pool was a welcome treat after a long, hot Kentucky day, clean and perfect for the entire family, with an outdoor seating area as well. The gym had various machines but we didn't get a chance to use them during our stay. Breakfast is better than your average continental breakfast, with omelets, eggs, pancakes and waffles made to order. Buffet options also available and coffee made with a push of a button. Overall, the experience here was great and I'd happily return here next time I'm in the area.
