(Mimi also happens to be exceptionally kind, but that's almost beside the point because her cuts are so good.) I tried a lot of pricier salons before finding that I could get a better cut from Mimi. She also cuts the hair of one of my guy friends, so I know she's great with men's hair too. I appreciate the chill, non-pretentious vibe here. Not like most wigs I've seen where it's like, "Hi, I'm a wig and I am eating your head" Newp, these were awesome and they had them in a ton of really natural looking styles and colors and as soon as I spotted a dark brown one, bam, it had me at, um, well, it was coming with me. They also have a ton of awesome colored extensions here and they do professional extensions as well. I really got a great vibe from the owner and he was super helpful and gave us really honest opinions about the zany stuff we were pulling out. Joico is also the sister company of ISO who are both owned by the Shiseido company. The last few visits, I had my hair shampoo, condition and blow dried. All I was asked to do was to give them my opinions on how I felt the product performed on my hair. They sectioned two sides of my hair and wanted to know if the left or right side of my hair is more tangled, smooth, frizzy etc. That's it! They even offered me tea. I felt pampered and relaxed. For compensation, they will give you two full-sized products of whatever hair care you want from their company. They have the latest hair care line available too! Out of the three times I have been here, it didn't take longer than 45 minutes to finish. Unless, you do highlights or some other time-consuming treatment like that. They have two rinsing stations and two blow-drying stations; so the place is fairly small. They're looking for people of all ages, male or female, and any kinds of hair. The staff that works there is very amiable and makes you feel at ease. They are located on the 3rd floor of the building and only open on weekdays from 8am-5pm. However, what really makes this place truly special the owner, Sofia, who genuinely cares about her customers and making sure you know about the products and how to use them. Prior to visiting her store, I would never put on eyelashes, I just didn't know how to do it and I gave up on it. It took me some convincing from Sofia but she made sure I knew about the correct application of eyelashes, which tools I needed and the after care of the lashes. To me as a consumer, that makes all the difference, a store that doesn't just sell products but provides opportunities to learn to to better use them, mostly in our community, it's priceless.
