Katie is the best! She is so caring about her clients and she does a really amazing job! I've been seeing her for years for my own hair (cuts, colors, etc). She also does my husband's and kid's hair. I had a nightmare experience with Ashley Kassbaum. She ruined my hair for my bridal shower. My biggest mistake was trusting it was an honest mistake on her part and giving her a chance to fix it because she sounded remorseful. I went back and she did it again. This time, though, she wasnt remorseful.. more like annoyed that I was calling her out on her negligence and started making bs excuses to seemingly rid herself of any responsibility and guilt for RUINING my hair right before my WEDDING too, which was 3 wks away!!! I was MORTIFIED and this is the only reason why I'm writing this review. I started coming to her in July of 2021, when it was still Hairitage; so about a yr and a half ago. I went from a brown to a lighter ash brown with subtle balayages/touch-ups over the course of a few sessions. Always tipped her really well and we became cool... so I thought. She was nice, we had a few things in common, shared some life stories, good chats, etc. I came in July of this yr, 2022, to start the process of prepping my hair for my wedding coming up in November. I believe by then her best friend had already bought the salon and it became Beauty Babes (this detail matters later.) I wanted blonde money pieces around my face without touching up the rest of my hair. She did it, I left. This day, she also agreed to style my hair, and 2 of my friends' for my wedding. Gave me my price, said she'd come to our hotel and I watched her pencil it in her calender. Everything was fine up until Sept, right before my bridal shower, when I came in for more blonde pieces in the front and this time I requested the rest jet black. She was on board. I was planning on doing a cool funky color in the front for the wedding but I wanted to leave them blonde until a couple weeks prior. This is when the problem started. At this point, I wasn't sure if she overbleached the front chunks or she simply did not know how to work with both colors simultaneously but either way, something caused the black to bleed into the blonde turning them into a grayish/purplish tone (she also used purple shampoo to wash.) I remember sitting there, her blow drying my hair, me thinking something wasnt right and her acting like nothing. What do I know about hair, right? I'm literally at her mercy. She said it's the purple shampoo that stuck and it'll wash off. It didn't. In fact, it got worse... More imperfections of her work came through (see pics) and I had to have my bridal shower like that!!! She apologized and offered to fix it but it was too late. I went the following week for her to "fix" it and she did the exact same thing again.. only this time I can tell she was panicking when she was checking my hair and still made the conscious decision to not say anything. She started blowdrying my hair AGAIN as if all was good. It literally looked the exact same, if not worse, as when I came in. I am PISSED at this point but still tried to remain cordial and respectful until I just couldn't anymore. I will leave the screenshots to tell the rest of the story. I've numbered them to help with following the time-line because Yelp likes to scramble pics. She never responded to my last text, didn't apologize, didnt even address or cancel the hairstyle booking for my wedding.. just ghost...left me high n dry - but quickly unfollowed me on her personal IG, her hairstylist IG, AND I also got unfollowed by the studios IG, which I assume is ran by her best friend/salon owner. I just cannot fathom how someone can do this to a client. Especially after servicing them for over a year. I was ALWAYS nice to her and was honestly blind-sided. Maybe she thinks she can do whatever she wants because it's her "best friends" business but I don't understand how someone can do this when they not only represent themselves but their friend's brand too, making the whole establishment look bad. She literally tried to say I should've paid her for fixing HER OWN screw up - the one where she screwed me up AGAIN. Lol wtf. The worst part of it all is that she ignored my outcry, and ran away from the problem like a coward. Instead of facing the problem, let's delete her off social media instead. Yea REAL mature. And REAL professional. It's been 3 weeks since my wedding. Not even a check in to see if I was able to figure something out. My hair was fried for my wedding and still is now. This is legit grounds for a lawsuit. read more

Ashley has been doing my hair for years...like 12+ years. Before going to Ashley I had some pretty bad experiences...to the point where I was terrified to let anyone near my hair with scissors. But Ashley was so understanding, I started going to her for color and she would ask me about trimming and it took a few times before I agreed to let her trim it. She was SO patient and even though I needed a decent amount trimmed, she would never go beyond what I was comfortable with. I now live out of state and will only allow Ashley to do my hair, I have so much trust in her that when I now go in, she asks about a trim and I fully trust her to trim or cut whatever is needed. I will show her a few photos of inspiration for color and allow her to do her magic and use her judgement and I always leave happy. When I can't see her and have to do maintenance myself, she's always helpful with products and suggestions. 100000/10 recommend. read more

I have had my hair done by Ashley .K for many many years . Over 5 years She was recommended by a coworker and also my aunt saw her as well . She has always been amazing . I have changed my hair several times for dark to light . I'd get my hair done About Every 3 months . I would show her a picture of what I had in mind . She never complained if anything she would compliment my idea . I would sometimes ask for her opinion on what to do hair color wise and she would always give me her honest feedback . She is such a sweet heart she usually would put in free tensil on my birthday ! She not only was / is a great hairstylist , but a great friend . I would sit in her chair and we could talk about life any where between relationships to what shows are you watching . She always made me feel comfortable and I enjoyed every experience I had . I never had a bad experience or her doing my hair over all the years seeing her , but I know if I didn't like something that she did I'm know she would do her best to fix it to my liking and not make me feel bad about it because that's not the type of person she is . Ashley Kassbaum is an absolutely amazing hair and color stylist who I have trusted with my hair for over 15 years! She can view a picture I show her and bring it to life. We have done highlights, weaves and amazing color transformations and each time it has been exactly as I've asked for. Not to mention the amazing scalp massage you get when she's shampooing your hair. She has suggested products to keep my hair color last longer and just always goes above and beyond your typical stylist. I have followed her a few times from shop to shop and will always do so. I am a former co-worker to the ladies at Beauty Babes. We all worked together for 5 years. I worked specifically with Ashley and owner Brittany. I had to leave the hair business due to family circumstances. I left all my clients to Ashley and Brittany knowing my clients would be completely happy and have their every hair need met. That being said, my old clients are still patrons. In fact, 9 years later and 50 miles away, I still drive to Simi Valley to get my hair done. Ashley does an amazing job on my hair! She has worked on my hair since 2017 and has brought it back to life! It used to have bleach in it from old highlights and would constantly be dry and brittle no matter what I did until Ashley helped me feel comfortable enough with cutting my hair off and starting fresh! My natural curls are back and better than ever and she even did my hair for my wedding and engagement photos! She also cut my husbands hair at one point! I definitely recommend Ashley and this salon! I've been going to Ashley Kassbaum for years now and she's the very best at my blonde highlights. My hair is so much healthier and longer now, too, after switching to her. She always make my highlights look so natural and pretty and they blend in so well! She also always found a way to fit me in for a wash and French braids after the recent surgeries I had to have, which helped me so much in recovery. One of my friends introduced me to Ashley 12+ years ago. She was the hairstylist for her entire family so I figured I'd take a chance. It was the best decision I've ever made! I traveled for school and work for 9 years out of the 12 and maybe got my hair cut twice by someone else. The hair cut was never the same. Ashley just understood my hair and I always made an appt to see her when I came home on vacation. I still drive 30+ mins to see her when I need anything done with my hair. Please ignore any negative reviews. Ashley has always taken the time to listen to what I wanted done and given me realistic expectations. If something wasn't exactly how I wanted it the first time, she would bring me back and fix it. Ashley is very kind, relatable, and a pleasure to chat with every time I get my hair done.
