Not a caring or professional person! A crime was reported to her and she falsified report.

I am deeply disappointed with our experience with Julia Appleby. What was meant to be a safe and…read morebalanced therapeutic space became increasingly one-sided and invalidating, particularly toward me. Throughout our sessions, she consistently failed to validate my husband and my feelings or experiences, even when I was describing repeated verbal attacks I endured from my son's fiancée and her mother Rather than acknowledging the emotional pain I was carrying, she focused heavily on assigning blame and pressuring me to apologize--without recognizing the context or emotional buildup that led to my reaction. This culminated in her using the phrase "playing the victim," a phrase she knew would trigger deep hurt, and which I feel was used more to shut me down than to facilitate growth. When i pushed back on her calling me a "victim" she asked what I called it....I stated disrespected however it's actually called setting boundries, something she failed to recognize. Her alignment with my son during these sessions felt blatant, and it made us feel alienated and unheard. Therapy should be a place where every person in the room feels seen and supported--not cornered or judged. Ultimately, we had to walk out of a session because the environment was no longer emotionally safe. It felt very manipulative and gaslighting. That decision wasn't made lightly since we were trying to reconnect with our Son. I share this review to encourage others to listen to their instincts. If you're seeking a therapist who will respect all voices in the room and practice compassion alongside accountability, I recommend looking elsewhere. This therapist did more harm than good. When we walked out she kept my son behind and continued to counsel him.
