The Beaten Track is handy for a meal or a drink with friends before catching a movie next door at Cineworld. The food is standard pub grub, and there is a 2 for £10 offer, just during the week I believe. I've eaten here a couple of times and it's totally acceptable family pub food, served quite promptly. Most of the staff are friendly and helpful! There is an area with a few sofas, perfect for meeting up with friends for a few drinks. Car park is shared with Cineworld, Nando's and Dragon King, so can be a bit bisy on occasions. read more

The Beaten Track pub is located on the outskirts of the town centre, and shares a small retail park with Dragon King, (Chinese restaurant), Cineworld Cinema and Nandos. The pub itself has recently been refiited, with a removal of the childrens play area, and an extention to the pub itself. Thed decor is a neutral pub style chain, the menu presently is the new winter meals, with a selection of food being 2 for £10, Monday to Friday, the meals are the usual pub meals, Steak, Gammon, Curry, as well as a kids meal. The beers are the usual run of the mill, nothing outstanding about the premises, but the staff are friendly, and is an ideal location for before or after a film. What can be said about the beaten track? Well it's your typical chain pub that serves ok food at an ok price. Nothing very special but clean, tidy and reasonably priced. Situated next to the cinema its an idea place to grab a bite first. One thing to be aware of is timing, they are not the quickest at getting your food out on time.
