I didn't catch his name, but a black gentleman that seemed like the manager or team leader had good positive energy. As he said, "this is a no judgment zone!" When checking out other locations, it helps me learn about the community that frequent the one I'm visiting. As always, Planet Fitness has diverse age & fitness levels so everyone is welcomed. This location has a strong Latin community but of course you will see other people too. Gym members were courteous of each other. For some reason (buyout/takeover?) they are no longer associated with TheClubs.com, so a membership from one of the other Clubs is no longer honored here; a local daily pass or 6 month membership is required. The staff doesn't know why they are no longer affiliated. They just have a notice behind the desk telling them that none of the other Clubs' memberships are honored anymore. They did credit our daily pass fee toward a 6--month membership (4 visits gives you a full ROI). Curiously, their membership cards still use The Clubs logo and they still have TheClubs.com website on their homepage, even though they are no longer part of it. They are in need of some website cleanup.

I signed up for a full body workout class (HIIT) and arrived 20 minutes early so took advantage of a tour offered by the attendant at the front desk. She was a charming tour guide and made sure I got to see the full gym, which includes a classroom for group exercises, a pilates/yoga studio, two weight rooms, a half court basketball court (soon to be full court!) and more! Coach Zain taught my class - the first gym class I have ever taken. There were about 12 of us in the room, ranging in age from mid-20's to early 70's. The classes are marketed as suitable for all fitness levels and I quickly found that to be the case. I really felt that I was in a judgement-free zone and felt no embarrassment at any time. Coach Zain led us through 6 different stations with 2 or 3 of us at each station at a time. He had tremendous awareness of what everyone was doing, kept us focused on technique and pace, and was quick to offer advice to any of us who needed it. I learned a lot from him! I've already signed up for a class next Saturday. I hope that Xymogym will be my go to start to Saturdays for a long time to come!

I forgot my badge and they were still cool with me manually checking myself in. Also, I like how I don't have to pay like $20/ day gym fees when I do 1-day passes at other gyms, so I'm glad this place is a franchise. The manager at the time (didn't get his name, but he was there at 2PM on 2/6) was super helpful, and let me put my oversized luggage case in his office to keep it safe. I really appreciate the hospitality for a traveler, and the good facilities which my Libertyville gym doesn't have (free bananas, AstroTurf, heavy bags, and double end bags) Great experience for a business trip, and great way to end a business trip with a 2 hour workout. You guys rock, and deserve a 5 star review!!!!
