Shower was plastic and sank a little when I stood in it. Toiletries - made in China which seems to be the trend unfortunately these days at US hotels. The quality though of the Chinese made product was better than what is usually stocked at US hotels. Great towels though! Check-in is down a narrow rock covered drive. Stay 2: I got a different room and the bathroom was much better than the other room. Bed again was super comfortable. I had people above me but they were quiet types so no problem there. For both stays, I was able to park close to the rooms. This B&B is set back from the Main road and both times I stayed I was in a building in back on a quiet residential road. Nice quiet stay and nice little outdoor areas on both sides of the building. They had a hummingbird feeder set up. I enjoyed walking a bit on this quiet road. Almost five star stay.

I wrote another review about that place. Luckily we found this one and were very happy here. There was no one on site but I telephone number on the door which we called and paid for a room over the phone and we're giving a code to use the keyless entry to our room. I found this extremely convenient for late arrival. The room was cute the shower was awesome and overall it was very clean and very well stocked. Cabinets held pots pans dishes and utensils for the heating plate that was there in addition to a toaster oven and refrigerator. The price was exceedingly reasonable. We really enjoyed our stay here, it was clean and quiet and so well appointed. We definitely recommend it.

Not the quietest place but I've had worse. The weird part - for the cheaper rooms there's a shared bathroom. Fine, it's an old house. But the other person didn't lock the door. Didn't notice the "VACANT" when you walked in, eh? Well you sure noticed me! I hightailed it back, heard that person rush back to their room, and the bathroom was all set for my shower. Unforgettable is a positive thing, right? Can't really speak to the hotel staff as they were never present - just had my key at the front desk and name/room number. Anyone could walk in there and take a key and a room - until the person whose room it was supposed to be walks in and doesn't have a key. Not great, but at least the room locks! Oh, and my room had a reclining rocking-couch. I kid you not. I wanted to sit down and I had to jam a fireplace log under it so I could sit without it rocking all over the place. (I wanted to try to sit down with wifi. That wasn't happening.) Verdict: If you need to stay in Lincoln, I don't want to be too harsh with my star rating. All the foliage was a blaze with colors of autumn. Each morning and sunset was just a scene out of a photo! The Lodge owner Linda was most gracious and very personable. Her husband Dennis was an amazing cook. I didn't get to meet him but we had dinner at the Lodge each night and it was magnificent. Gordon Ramsey would have sat back in awe to the attention to detail, presentation and favors! Our room was an oasis away from home. We stayed in the Allagash suit for our anniversary and the room had a stunning view of the lake and the room was impeccable in its appointments. The decor was beautiful there was much natural birch trees used in the room and throughout the in. Chloe, the resident French Bulldog, was precious. I wanted to take her home with me. I can't wait for my next trip! Thank you so much for all of your fantastic hospitality!

My great-grandfather, grandfather, and father all lived in Greenville in the late 1800's-early…read more1900's. They worked the railroads. I wish they would have had the opportunity to stay at this lodge. Beautiful grounds, huge room with deck overlooking the grounds and the lake. The room showed an attention to detail that I've not seen before and we have travelled. Bathroom was large and new and stocked with high end products. Staff were outstanding. The general manager greeted us, showed us around, and made sure we we felt at home. Breakfast was included and it didn't disappoint. Would encourage the inclusion of Paso Robles wines on their wine list (they are Nor Cal centric). Other than that, wouldn't change a thing. While in town, be sure to drop by the historic railroad depot. It's a great piece of American/Canadian history. We will be back!

The Inn itself is quaint and historic and the perfect location for an event or a group getaway. It is right next to the water and just beautiful. There are canoes to use as well as games and books inside. They are also just great restaurant and bar as well, with amazing specialty drinks and an eclectic collection of local beer and IPAs on tap. I highly recommend this place for your summer or fall getaway. I know we'll be back.

For a hotel complimentary premade breakfast, theirs was excellent and one of the best we'd ever had. Lots of bacon. They had a very cool touchless pancake maker. Cons: The décor is very dated - we stayed on the 3rd floor that was decorated with a long row of first lady photos along both sides of the corridor hall - honestly it felt like something out of the Shining. There were odd sinks in the hallway near the elevator. The ice machine on the 1st floor was great but the ice machine on the 3rd floor didn't work and on the 2nd floor did not produce a lot of ice. The spa is tiny and no children allowed and the swimming pool is not connected to the hotel but in the parking lot. We wish they'd start the breakfast at 6am on weekends - we had an adventure planned so we had to leave at 7am when the breakfast just opened so we missed that morning. Keep perspective - this is not a posh modern hotel. Once you get used to its oddness, the hotel is a good, more affordable place for a good night's rest. We needed a hotel in Bangor ME for Labor Day Weekend - we checked the major chain hotels and the prices were all super expensive as it looks like they doubled their prices for the holiday weekend. Best Western White House Inn was the most affordable of what we could find. We noticed when we google mapped the hotel location, it was listed in Hampden ME as they are closer to Hampden but the Bangor address must be more desirable.
