Do not hire! My husband and I met with the owner and discussed the needs of our project. We hired…read morethe contractor to stain our porches and deck. We were told that we would be provided with a choice of stains but we had to remind the contractor weeks after our meeting that he hadn't provided any information on the subject. We were informed that the areas would need to be pressure washed before being stained and that the cost would be between $400 and $500. When we received the proposal it mentioned that the cleaning would be provided by a company that MP painting approved. It took several weeks and many contacts to get a date for the job to be done. The pressure washing was done really well. No complaints there. The evening after we informed MP that the cleaning was completed we received a text informing us that the staining would start at 8am the next day. So less than 12 hours notice and therefore all plans for the next day had to be canceled. One worker arrived and began staining with a can of stain we provided. Shortly after 9 the owner arrived with 2 cans of an incorrect color and tried to convince my husband that the color was correct. After going back to the store to get the proper color and without anyone approving they started the deck staining by hacking away the landscaping behind the deck. We were never informed of the need to remove any of the greenery around the deck. The crew didn't realize that I was watching them on a security camera. After I discovered that they were cutting away an heirloom grapevine I rushed to a window and tried to stop them. I kept yelling no at them through the window. The crewman barked do you want the staining done? I told them to stop cutting and he barked out "it will grow back". (I have to admit that after that disrespectful response I lost it and cursed them out). Their response wasn't what a client should hear after a major portion of my grape harvest had been destroyed. At 11am we received an invoice from the pressure washer company and were informed that it wasn't going to paid for through the proposal total. The owner after weeks of being contacted by both of us by text began invoicing the cell number he mistakenly thought was my husbands number moments after the job was "finished". It was actually my phone. After being hounded by text for 3.5 hours I replied that we would inspect the job and get back to him. At that point he began texting the person that he thought was my husband about how all his trouble getting his money was "your wife's" fault. I texted back and informed him of his mistake and that he would be paid after we were able to get onto the deck to check the work. MP freaked out. He must have really needed the cash. The next morning I awoke to a threat of a mechanics lean. I've paid both bills one, the pressure washer, because their work was great and one because we were threatened. I have dozens of pictures of areas that were never stained. It will take hours for us as a couple of senior citizens to complete the process that MP was hired for. Most of the areas are under the deck railings. Maybe MP should buy a mirror to see where they should stain and don't. Maybe they didn't do the job correctly out of just laziness but they definitely showed a lack of respect for our property and wishes right from the start.

The low pressure wash did a phenomenal job. When the team came to do the outdoor painting I was amazed at the attention to detail. They re-sealed my wood stairs and all the posts and verticals. I dealt with cleaning paint off my tile floors, granite vanity tops, replacing blinds with paint all over them, cleaning paint off my door knobs, sink fixtures, driveway, windows and frames, touching up door frames that were not painted and repainting 3 cabinet doors. My outside water spigot was broken in the wall requiring plumbing and drywall work for repair. Not to mention they will drink your beverages from your fridge and leave food in your microwave until you find it due to the smell.
