I called them and asked if they had pasture raised eggs and they did. This farm stand is so cute and right off of US-33. As soon as you walk in, abundant buckets of colorful fruit and vegetables greet you. Staff was very helpful and answered all my questions. They even have some misfit produce available at a discounted rate. A lady there took a whole bucket of plump peaches home for really cheap. Everything is grown or produced locally which I found fascinating. The blackberries and cherries I got from here were absolutely divine and the non-GMO eggs I got from here also tasted amazing. They had tons of varieties of heirloom tomatoes and had fridges full of locally produced cheeses, desserts and other milk products. As well as meats and baked goods. If you are looking for organic, locally grown and produced food - look no further than this beautiful farm stand.

On Saturday we were having burgers so I decided to slice one of my ($4.00) tomatoes. This tomato was so mushy and so grainy that the entire thing was unusable. It had clearly been refrigerated. People who sell produce fir a living know better. Then on Sunday I was going to eat a peach. This was two days after purchase. Four of my six peaches were moldy and had to be thrown away. I spend a lot of money there every summer but I do believe that is over. The bad produce along with the rudeness of one of the workers I dont think I will ever go back.

The whole place was quiet, shaded and easy to enjoy, and the free level one chargers tucked along the edge made it even better. You can see how lively this space must get when the market is running, but even off-hours it's a comfortable spot to park, wander, and take in a well-kept community area. I didn't have any particular item that I was looking for, but boy did I get some goodies. This will take you a few hrs to walk thru, so plan accordingly. I bought popcorn on the way in, and it was indeed good. Very clean, and alot of shops to wander around in. I went straight into the quilt shop and bought some beautiful material. I plan on making some pillows in the near future. Wow the quilting shop was one for the books, I could have stayed in there for hrs. So many crafting ideas and nice material. They ladies do offer classes, or can tell you who does in the area. They have antique shops, puzzle store, cook ware, toy store, decor and food for purchase. Im sure I missed a few things. This is a must stop if your in the area. All the shops seemed amazing and reasonable priced. Lots of parking, and everyone was welcoming. I met a few fellow antique collectors along the way.

Upon my maiden voyage to Harrisonburg though, I arrived without a map. I knew lodging was within a block of downtown so I decided to "wing it." One of the first spots to show up via Yelp was the downtown Market. I discovered it by proxy when I walked into Broad Porch Coffee that first morning. It was a "oh, it's inside Agora" moment. It was akin to going on a first date and learning they love dogs as much as you do. I ordered my pour over and began exploring, from the front door forward. Lineage had my attention immediately, as they carry Upstate Stock beanies and National Park items. Graphic tees, candles, and a plethora of items I won't bog you down with (just go see for yourself). Then a toy section, local artist, antique space, and more. Honestly, everything you need for holiday shopping or just treat yourself shopping. All under one roof and completely free flowing between shops and with Broad Porch. So yes, you can sip your latte and shop. I love makerspaces overall, but more so when they use what would be an unutilized downtown building. I can't wait to return each and every time I am in Harrisonburg.

My husband and I were visiting…read moreMassanutten Resort in late August, 2023, and we were looking for a local farm with "Pick-your-own" produce. We found that this farm fit the bill, with different pick-your-own options depending on season. Apple season had just started, so we headed on over. We first went into the small shop, where we were greeted by a very friendly and helpful young man. He explained how to determine which fruit was ready for picking, and sent us off with our bags to fill. The rows are well-marked, and I was thrilled to see that my favorite apple -- honey crisps -- were ripe and ready for picking. The farm has a large variety of apples -- golden delicious, gala, sweet surprise, ambrosia, etc. -- though not all were yet ripe. The trees were producing a lot of fruit, all of which was easy to reach, so our bags were filled in no time. We returned to the market, where we purchased quite a lot of additional fruits (peaches) and vegetables (okra, giant Marconi peppers, sweet banana peppers, green onions, and eggplant). They also sell other farm-fresh produce and eggs. There are also handmade wooden ornaments for sale. We didn't taste our haul until returning home -- both the peaches and apples taste amazing. Crisp and sweet. Fresh off the tree DOES make a difference! We haven't tasted the vegetables yet. -5-stars for food quality. -5 stars for staff. The gentleman in the store was very engaging, patiently answering a ton of our questions about the farm and its products. -5 stars for value. The prices are competitive with local grocery stores, but you're getting fresher products. -1 star for location. LOL. The farm is two hours away from our home! I wish it were closer to us. We would definitely be regulars there if it were! Seriously though, the location is easy to find, and convenient from Harrisonburg or Massanutten.
