Bear Lake Veterinary Clinic is a rare vet-owned and operated clinic, unlike so many that have sold out. What this means is good old-fashioned care at reasonable prices. I always appreciated their care. The way they treated me on the final day of my fur baby's life is something I will never forget. I had been in a month before assessing my (almost) 19-year-old Maltese, and while my mother, sister, and mother-in-law were all vocal that "it's time", my husband and I wanted to do her end-of-life care at home. On the final day, I called the vet's office and asked for a different cough medicine because it wasn't working anymore. Jessica was super kind, and I felt like she almost felt sorry for me because it was clear to everyone that we were holding on way past time. She kindly said she would get with the vet and call me back. I called her again with another follow-up piece of information about the cough's increasing intensity. And finally, when my husband and I faced the fact that she was likely in heart failure or in some other way at risk of a painful death (TMI to list all symptoms here) - I called a 3rd time and could barely utter the words "hi, it's Nellie's mom again. It's time". That was all I could get out. She didn't ask questions; she only facilitated a time that was best for me. We brought Nellie in, and the veterinary assistant and the vet could not have been any more compassionate and reassuring. I've had two other dogs, one euthanized over 10 years ago, and another one died in the OR, and no other vet and team was this compassionate. The kicker, I just received a handwritten card from their doctor and staff. I really don't have time to be writing a novel today as I prepare for a trip and on Super Bowl Sunday before company comes, but for those who are fed up with the corporate-run, money-first, pet-last, pushy clinics, this is the place to go. read more

We will Not be returning after being treated terribly during our loved dogs passing. We were made to wait while you had our dog in the back stock room eating cookies and all of the staff were there feeding her and laughing. I was brought in to the back room and with NO warning nor privacy the vet gave her an injection and our sweet dog was gone. It was heartbreaking and terrible your entire staff showed NO compassion nor kindness of any kind. It was awful!! read more

We have been seeing Dr, Campbell for over ten years now...we have so much faith in her.She is knowledgeable and very compassionate to both humans and pets alike. We trust her completely with our pets and I would never go to anyone else. We are so thankful to have found her and her staff is great too! Our Greyhound Trixie loves Dr. Campbell read more

We have been going to this vet for nearly a year now and unlike previous vet's we had that were always trying to upsell or were not nice, this vet clinic is amazing! Everyone is so friendly and takes the time to answer all my questions and concerns. From Jessica in the front desk, to Dr. Campbell and Dr. Baker! We recently had to get our dog Teddy's teeth cleaned and we were nervous of him going under anesthesia and because he has a small, abnormal trachea, they were so gentle with him. I also emailed the clinic with my concerns and they were quick to address each one. Teddy, our rescue, had to unfortunately have 4 teeth extracted but otherwise he did well and was taken care of. They are also upfront about their costs and I ask them to give me estimates so I can budget for expenses accordingly. I recommend this clinic and it sits right in the border of Apopka and Altamonte Springs so it's convenient! read more

Our Bruno had his first visit here yesterday and I brought my toddler along for the ride. They were SO friendly, accomodating and kind. The gave me estimates before doing anything and didnt give me a hard time AT ALL about not doing everything suggested.. even had a tech help me out to my car with Bruno. SO FRIENDLY. Everyone had a smile on their face, the office was clean and organized. We are excited to have a vet so close to home that seems to love our Bruno as much as we do! read more

this place is absolutely nuts with their prices! i have an elderly cat that will need to be put to sleep...they want $70 for the vet just to look at the cat, another $290 for the euthanasia, notwithstanding the return of her ashed which would be another 100+ these people don't care about a suffering animal...they only care about money!! how disgraceful!@ read more

I love this clinic! As a first-time puppy owner, I had a lot of questions, and every team member took all the time I needed to feel comfortable and have all my questions answered. The compassionate care that they extend not only to my new puppy, but to me as well, is absolutely outstanding. I highly recommend the team at Bear Lake Veterinary Clinic! Oh, and I am also impressed with their appointment availability and reasonable pricing! read more

I used Dr. Campbell when she was at another clinic in Longwood. I am so glad to hear that she has her own clinic and I will look forward to taking my furry friends to her again. I am disappointed that you are not open on Sat.or so the website says. I need to make an appointment for my senior kitty ASAP but will try again. read more

Bear Lake Veterinary Clinic took such good care of my baby girl. I have a small Papillon who is very fearful of strangers but they took their time and were very gentle. They took the time to listen to all my concerns and questions. They ran test, caught her up on all her shots and gave me a great deal for stocking up on all her meds. The office was clean and the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. You can really tell the staff here really love what they do and care for your fur babies just as much as you do. Located in a small plaza parking is always convenient and available. read more

We have had degrading service with the ongoing reaction to the pandemic. It seems like the priority is more to mandate restricting guidelines on the clients than to treat the pets. The last time I was in I was treated like a disease myself and honestly I am not sure I will ever be back. It is super convenient as far as proximity to my home but when you can't build a relationship with your vet due to their restrictions on clients rooted in fear it is not exactly conducive to a healthy working relationship or even trust. read more

Just saw Dr. Baker and I'm so glad we chose this clinic. The whole staff was amazing. They all collaborated to make sure our visit went well. They took the time to ask questions and answer them too. There was no forcing my dog to do what he didn't want to do. Huge difference from our other vet. Thank you to Bear Lake Vets!!! read more

I brought my kitty in after making an appointment the same morning. I was greeted the second I walked in, and told the Veterinarian had an emergency come in so I would need to wait a few minutes. Not 15 minutes later I was taken into a room and met the veterinarian. She was so pleasant, and caring. Ran tests on my kitty, and came back with options for her care. I was never kept waiting long, and I got the sense that she really cares about the animals. I'll be bringing both kitties in to see her again. read more

Dr. Campbell is the best! She cares for my furry family as if they were her own. She is so knowledgeable and always does what is best for the care of her patients. I am so glad she has her own practice and if you are looking for a good vet she is the one you should go see. read more

Best veterinarian ever!!!! We're so glad we found you Dr. Campbell! You did such an amazing job with our dog Ginger. She was up and going the day after surgery and Jessica was so companionate and helpful. We can't wait for you to meet the rest of our four legged family! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!!!!! read more

Dr. Campbell and the staff are amazing. I bring my Roxy in all the time and the staff along with Dr. Campbell are so loving and compassionate. The facility is so clean and the rooms are cleaned after every patient. Truly amazing staff that are very knowledgeable. I would recommend this facility to anyone. read more

As a local employee, I've known about this establishment for a while and even before visiting for our 2 cats I had met some of the amazing staff. Since my husband and I only have Saturdays off together (and we wanted to take care of our 'gatos' together) it was wonderful to be able to get a Saturday appointment. They showed us to a room quickly and we were well taken care of during our visit. Our questions were answered and everyone is healthy and happy. Thank you so much for being a part of our community. We will certainly be back and will certainly recommend you to others! read more

I'm sorry it's taken me so long to write a review for Bear Lake Veterinary Clinic, but I don't want to pass up the opportunity to give Dr. Campbell and her staff another great review. I rarely give 5 stars, but there is nothing else I could possibly give to this wonderful clinic. Dr. Campbell and her staff are amazing, and they take such good care of my kitties, like they're members of the family. And they always remember each one and their special differences and personalities, and always give them the best care. One kitty had been having an on and off skin irritation for several years, and now with Dr. Campbell's careful attention to the symptoms, along with medication and a new diet she is completely better! And this clinic won't try to manipulate you into getting tests and services your babies don't need. I brought one kitty thinking he needed a dental cleaning, and Dr. Campbell said his teeth were fine and could wait until his annual checkup. So refreshing, when many other vets seem to thrive on add-ons. Dr. Campbell is a wonderful vet, AND she's USDA certified. Go here for the best care for your fur babies! read more

I wouldn't take my fur babies anywhere else! Dr. Campbell is as loving, compassionate and educated as they come. Honestly, we've seen Dr. Campbell for many years at different clinics in her career. I'm thrilled that she has her own practice and my pets will see her for all their needs. Our greyhound loved his visit. Next up, the doxie. read more

If I could add more stars, I definitely would, Dr Campbell and Elizabeth, Stephanie and Melissa are awesome, when it comes to taking care of "my three dogs". especially snickers, my brown and white cocker spaniel. Dr. Campbell has treated my dogs now for almost two years and she is amazing, experienced, knowledgable, caring and loving veterinarian, I would never take my pets to anyone else. We work with Dr Shelley Campbell and send her clients from Soapy's Dog Wash, nearby. We highly recommend her and her staff for all your pets needs. read more

Dr. Campbell has been my dog's vet since 2003. She is gentle and caring with the dogs and they don't mind coming to the vet's office!

I have been fortunate enough to have had Shellie Campbell as my furry babies' vet for 15 or more years now. I would follow her anywhere she goes. She is an excellent diagnostician and surgeon and has the biggest heart for my pets that I could ever hope for. She has operated on my guinea pig and gave him extra years of life and my beloved basset hounds. I only wish she would treat people too and I would sign up as her patient! Stephanie and Elizabeth are AWESOME and are so skilled and compassionate . You are in the best hands possible when Dr. Campbell and Elizabeth and Stephanie are providing care for your furry family members. read more

If you live in the Bear Lake area and are searching for a fantastic vet, Dr. Campbell and her staff are an added gem to our community! They've taken excellent care of my rescued Rottie, without my having to take out a second mortgage to pay for it. Everyone is always friendly, ready to answer any question, and appointments generally start at their allotted time. read more

Dr. Campbell and staff are wonderful. This is a vet office that is caring, thoughtful, and thorough in their examinations. Dr. Campbell has helped us with healthy pets as well as when one of our dogs was struggling with health issues. I would trust no other vet with our dogs. read more

The best veterinary care around! Dr. Campbell and her associates will take top notch care of your furry family members!

Before I got my new puppy. I went out to interview 3 different veterinarians. My first stop was Bear Lake Veterinary. Stephanie and Savannah were so kind and engaged that I truly felt comfortable NOT interviewing the other 2 clinics. My first appointment Theo (my 8 week old puppy) was flawless. Dr. & Brooke took close interest in my questions. Gave me sound advice & guidance. They did a wonderful "Get to know puppy" visit. I have already told many friends about them. read more

Just so glad that Bear Lake Vet takes safety protocols so seriously. I'm sure the safety precautions they have implemented (like having us humans wait outside) have unquestionably minimized the chances of any infectious or transmittable contagions entering their office and that means they are not only protecting themselves, but also their clients both animal and human. As always, they continue to conduct their office with the utmost care and respect for all who keep coming to Bear Lake Vet... and that is why they have earned the trust and respect of all of their clients. Hands down, best vet doctors and techs anywhere. We love and appreciate every single employee of Bear Lake Vet and their kindness and love for animals is undeniable. This means so much to us (as it surely means to their other clients as well). They are extremely dedicated, knowledgeable, and professional, yet also very warm and kind and you can't help but to love them all. You won't find a better vet anywhere... they are absolutely the very best! read more

They were really nice and the vet was kind to my dog. The only thing I felt was crazy was the waiting... if you didn't have an appointment and you just walk in with your pet, you will be waiting for hours...but it was worth the wait! Love the feel of the office as well read more

Dr. Campbell and Brooke are amazing. I've been going there over a year now, and sent my best friend there when her cat was dying, and we've consistently seen effective as well as compassionate care. They spend unhurried time with you and your pet, and they literally 'meet the animal where they're at' (for example they don't insist my dog get on the exam table if it's not necessary). The other thing I really appreciate is it's not about the money here and it was at the last two vet practices I was at. The happiness and welfare of you AND your pet are the clear priority. Not that it's inexpensive, but if you don't want to do something you're not going to get a sales push from Dr. Campbell. For the dying 18 yo kitty, another vet had recommended invasive and expensive procedures and my distraught friend just wanted to make him comfortable (and also knew he periodically had these episodes). Dr. Campbell partnered with her on his care and he recovered just fine. She recently recommended an effective solution for his unhappiness with other cats in the house which my friend didn't even specifically ask about (it came up in a general exam conversation). To me that's the highest praise I can give, that Dr. Campbell and her staff will partner with you on the care of your furry family member. read more

You will not find a more qualified, caring and conscientious vet. Dr. Campbell and her staff are wonderful!

I am so sad that I found Dr. Campbell shortly before I am moving. I have lived in Orlando for two and a half years and have bounced around to a couple of vets without ever being completely satisfied. My animals are my babies and Dr. Campbell and her staff treated my dog Indy with such care. My dog had a minor surgery and Dr. Campbell and her staff did an excellent job taking care of him. I highly recommend them. read more

I absolutely love this practice! Probably three out of every four times I visit their practice it's due to an unexpected issue and they have always found a way to make time for my pets. They are very fairly priced and don't push unnecessary tests or products on you. Everyone in this office really loves animals and it shows in every aspect. I wish I had started bringing my pets to them sooner! read more

I don't trust my puppies with anyone else except Dr. Campbell and her gang! Bruno loves coming to the vet and getting that hands on treatment...He loves all that attention from the ladies. Polly is a little more reluctant, but Dr. Campbell is great about making sure she gives that stubborn little Minpin a complete exam and a little love to boot. They've both developed health issues over the past year, and Dr. Campbell has been great about explaining options and how I should manage their problems (diabetes for Bruno and thyroid for Polly). Since she explains everything so clearly, I feel like I can take care of them better and I know what questions to ask on our visits. Thanks for making a stressful event less stressful, Bear Lake Vet! read more

I have 2 greyhounds that need special attention based on their breed. Dr. Campbell is absolutely the best in the area. The staff is always friendly and remembers you and your pets. I drive from Casselberry just because they are the best vets in town. read more

I recently took my big cat, Henri, to Dr. Campbell, as she had stopped eating, was drinking very little, and had become very lethargic. Dr. Campbell called me the next day with the lab results: Henri had acute renal failure. I took Henri back to Dr. Campbell the next morning, and she was hospitalized for 3 days with IV treatment. Her hospitalization was over the weekend, and Dr. Campbell went in personally to check on her multiple times over the weekend, and to give Henri some loving. Henri still wasn't eating, so Dr. Campbell suggested I take her home, to love her and see if she would be more active, and eat and drink. Unfortunately, Henri did not respond, so a week after finding this wonderful vet, I took Henri in to be euthanized. Dr. Campbell, the tech, and I were with Henri, talking to her and petting her to the end. Henri and I were so blessed to find this practice. The entire staff is marvelous and so devoted to their patients. read more
