First time in though I've driven by many times. I had an iced latte with oat milk, and I liked it. I'd stop by again for coffee. The baked goods were mid as was the food menu, but I wasn't expecting a chefy coffee place as much as I was hoping for one. I do want to check out their children's books with my kid. read more

For Shawano, it's decent. Not a fan of the coffee, it tastes like a poor quality roast with an over abundance of sugar syrups. Expect to have to listen to an exceptionally LOUD group of local know-it-all's every weekday morning until about lunch. No idea why they think every one needs to hear their religious/political/racist ideas, but there it is. Food is okay, they are trying some new options. The pastries need a refresh as well though. Lots of half-hearted options. This place was better under last ownership - local artists and bands appeared - the new owner has Christian signs, books and flyers all over the wall - NOT what ever pick for good coffee house culture. You can trade in old books for credit - but only on used books, not new ones - and there isn't a great selection of current lit, especially in kids section. Employees can be heard talking and on the phone, even when you're in line, so not the fastest service either. It's decent, but definitely not "eager to please." Place is clean, prices are okay and overall, a decent place to meet. Does okay, could do a LOT better. read more

Stopped in for a macchiato and some coffees to go for breakfast. Added the bagel sausage egg and cheese breakfast sandwich. Both the drink and the sandwich were great! The bagel was actually real food! And they threw in a little cup of grapes to go with it. They were busy but friendly, and they didn't mind me adding the sandwich on late in the order. Overall a great experience in a local business that is doing a great job. Inside is neat and clean with good seating. Needed a hot beverage on a cold day. Stopped in the early afternoon. I was rather happy to see all of the chai options most places are limited but they had a ton of variety. I selected the hot vanilla chai. It was creamy and the perfect temperature to drink right away. Light in spice it hit the spot. I also shared a muffin with my husband. We got the peach cobbler. While the flavor was good it was a mess to eat very flakey. Atmosphere in here is really relaxing and the bathrooms were spotless. I would stop in again. read more

Decent little coffee shop with some baked goods and snacks. They also have some used books for sale. I haven't looked closely at the books but it seems to be more popular, best-seller type books in paperback. I came to drink coffee and use the internet while I am up visiting the family lake house and, unfortunately, the internet is pretty pokey. That's not that surprising considering this is a pretty rural area, but a 3Mbit connection is barely fast enough to stream video at home so when you get several people trying to use it at once it can become a little frustrating - even for simple web-browsing. Also, the first time I came here there was a very noisy group of retirees who had decided to meet there for coffee and, frankly, they should've switched to decaf. Not sure whether this is a common occurrence here or not. read more

I've been going to Beans and Books for about four years and it's definitely my favorite place. When I first started going, I had a lot of questions about coffee and coffee drinks and they explained everything to me very patiently when I asked. The staff is very friendly and welcoming, and the decor inside makes you feel comfortable and it's the perfect place for a rainy day. The free wifi is a big plus and I could actually spend all day here. My favorite is the Chocolate Peanut Butter frappe made with iced coffee. The blueberry scones are also to die for along with chai tea. The prices are very reasonable. I think they've got a little something for everyone with their huge selection of drinks and a good choice of breakfast and lunch foods. Today is the first time I ate here, besides getting a cup of soup, and the Southwestern Turkey wrap is delicious. It's absolutely perfect for a light lunch while I'm doing some college prep work. read more

It is a quite place. Used books on the book shelf. The coffee is cheaper than Starbucks but not quite the same. I settled for it since the nearest Starbucks are both an hour away from each other. They had coffee expresso beans! Yum! Yum! Highly recommend them! I had the White Mocha. Not really tasty but settled. Everyone was nice! I highly recommend this place! Stopped in on a Saturday afternoon with family that lives near town. The two ladies were very welcoming and made some great recommendations on latte flavor combinations! I'd give the place a good rating, but service varies wildly. Sometimes it's perfect, sometimes it's awful. For example, today the girl here gave me flavored coffee when I didn't ask for it and didn't want it (hate the stuff), then she insisted that it wasn't flavored-- and gave me flavored coffee for my replacement drink. It was really tacky flavoring, too -- obvious chemical taste. The shop is a small space and you can hear everything that's going on all the time. And so if a kid comes in and starts smacking his mouth on a cookie loudly, which is happening right now, you have to listen to it like it's a free concert of bad table manners. The only reason I'm giving the shop more than one star is because their Wifi works and it's one of the few places you can get it around Shawano, other than some of the casinos. read more

Great coffee and latte's! Friendly service and great scones! The menu has delicious sandwiches and wraps that go great with a cup of coffee and a book. I always love coming there for their Latte's and scones. It's also a big plus that they have a drive-thru window. read more

A nice little coffee shop that also sells used books. I as there for the beverages so i paid little attention to the literary selections. The coffees and other beverages were all reasonably priced and the chai tea I had was great. They also have wireless internet service so you can surf while chatting it up in the sit-down area. read more
