After attempting again to get in to the store by ringing again and pulling the door but she walked to the back and never came back. I waited a few minutes and then left. I found it rude and am so disappointed. I have spent money at this store in the past because they have a nice selection. I did not expect to be treated as though I was not welcome. We made eye contact so it's not as though she didn't see me or hear the bell ring. I came here in lieu of going to my normal wholesaler because I felt it would be good to support a smaller business. There was a kid rollerblading in the shop, extremely anxiety-inducing and unprofessional. My second visit was more positive. A younger lady greeted me at the front mentioning to let her know if I needed any help and the kids were more tamed.

I thought it must no longer exist, luckily some man asked me what I was looking for and directed me inside the big mall entrance on the corner of 9th and Santee. Most of the shops inside this mall are unoccupied but they're in there ! If you enter from that corner, head allll the way down the hall and hang a left- otherwise there's a mall entrance closer to the shop on Maple just north of 9th street. Anyway once you find it, it's well worth it! I'm working on a beaded purse for a friend's birthday and needed a very specific type of bead in bulk. I tried all the other huge bead stores on Maple- they were cool but didn't have this very simple thing I needed- tons of 6mm or 8mm faceted lightweight beads. Then I came here - it's a beautiful little shop, a true experience when you walk in. There are these little drawers going all the way up the walls, with all the special vintage beads meticulously organized and displayed. Then in the center aisles, tons of big bags of bulk beads at affordable prices and some beautiful string beads hanging above. The guy even knew how many beads were in each bag which was very helpful, the people at the other places had no clue how much were in the smaller bunches even. I needed ~2000 beads and ended up getting ~3000 just to be safe for about $20 total. I was in a rush on my lunch break but can't wait to come back and pick out some special vintage beads - they have so many gorgeous unique ones that you'll never find anywhere else and again, very fair pricing. The couple who I'm guessing own it were so incredibly sweet and helpful. A palate cleanser after one of the big bead stores around the corner, the owner was so rude that I decided to take my business elsewhere- so glad I did because Anabelle's was next on my list. Truly a gem - one of those places that makes to stop and admire what soul it gives LA.
