Such a great bookstore with always such good reads, watches and listens. Steve and Lori (owners) are always extremely helpful!

I am a native Bostonian. I live in western Massachusetts. It's not merely that I've lived in a…read moreregion with many great bookstores, it's that I live in a region where there are multiple bookstores with national reputations and Wikipedia articles. And in a blasted ruin of a downtown, with many buildings obviously boarded up for decades, I found the best used bookstore I've ever seen. We were in NF on vacation, and in planning the day's travel, I thought, eh, let's check out the local bookstores. So we planned on stopping here for a half hour before moving on to a couple of museums. I won't go into huge detail -- just read the reviews below for the friendliness of the owner, the sheer size of the place, and how it's organized -- or belabor bits like me wearing a sweatshirt my mother gave me 20+ years ago extolling books and cats, and the owner gleefully pointing out the T-shirt on display with the exact same logo HIS mother gave to HIM 20+ years ago. But the selection is gargantuan, and we only covered the first two floors. Just the new books and fiction sections cleaned out our discretionary budget for the trip, and we went well over it to boot. See, for one thing, the prices are staggering: used paperbacks go for a dollar or two apiece, prices I haven't seen for a couple decades at least. I got two almanacs for $5 apiece, one from 1959 and one from 1947. Picked out a new book for my wife for her upcoming birthday, and the owner giftwrapped it for me. So anyway: we wound up buying over $200 worth of books. Far, far too many for us to carry home on the train. No problem: the owner boxed them up for shipping, and we received them today, only three days after we bought them. He said he does a lot of business online, and is willing to look for books on his shelves and ship them. We likely won't get back to the area for a couple years, and will absolutely take advantage of this. I could not recommend this establishment more highly. (Really, folks, don't fret about the location: it's directly across the street from the police station.)

Don't visit in a rush. There is plenty to see. Over a century of books under one roof. I was…read moreimpressed!

It still has a small collection of books and normal B&N offerings. They also have culinary items, think knives, cutting boards, aprons, etc. They also have a small case with grab-and-go items, like sandwiches and drinks. Which is nice for tourist and student alike. The also share an area with a small cafe where you can get a to-go order of coffee. Overall: B A smaller B&N location but really it's for the student population with a few items for visiting tourists.

I am a student at NFCI and I'm going into my last semester. I go to school through a TRA trade act…read moreprogram so New York state pays for my classes and my books. Every semester New York State sends a letter to the man who runs the Barnes & Noble @NCCC and NFCI. Listing out that I can purchase with that letter anything I need for my classes. Every semester they never have my information in the system though they get the letter approximately four weeks before the semester starts. I know they don't consider me very important because I am just a student but I'm going through the same thing right now this will be my second trip down to pick up my books. I do have a life and I have other responsibilities and I can't just run down to the bookstore whenever I feel like it. I decided to put this on Yelp because if you're thinking of going here for school and you're coming in through anything but paying out of your own pocket be sure you're ahead of the game a bit or you'll be waiting forever for your books and supplies.
