My daughter had a horrible sore throat and we were in Myrtle Beach at a soccer tournament. The woman at the front desk could not have been more friendly and helpful (I wish I would have noted her name). From arrival to being called back to the see the doctor was less than 10 minutes (about as long as it took to do paperwork/copay). The nurse that took the vitals was knowledgeable and very gentle with my daughter as she did the throat culture. The doctor came in as soon as the 5-minute culture results were in. He explained to us that her ailment was almost certainly viral and gave us the reasons why we was not going to prescribe her an antibiotic because it simply wouldn't help with her illness. We left with the peace of mind of knowing she was not contagious and would be fine in a few days. We were walking out within 30 minutes of arriving. We had a great experience!

While there, I was seen by Dr. Pangia who did not do an exam. So I requested to have a nurse come to my room explained to them how I felt neglected and requested a patient advocate. Next thing I know, the doctor comes back in extremely aggravated and accuses me, while on video call with my mother, of being pissed because he wouldn't give me IV pain medication. Mind you, something that was NEVER mentioned. I continuously try to explain to him what I was actually upset with only to be met with being cut off and not allowed to speak as he is raising his voice at me. I walk out of the room and yell for someone to come help as he's following me and still raising his voice at me. The charge nurse then comes in, allows me to speak freely, and gives me the contact information for the patient advocate. Considering the situation was recorded and I have evidence of the interaction, I will be obtaining an attorney for medical negligence.

When I arrived, there were quite a few people in the waiting room. Nevertheless, as soon as I told the receptionist the reason for my visit, I moved to the front of the line. Staff took my blood pressure--very low, again--and took urine and blood samples for testing. The doctor came in immediately and assisted the technician in performing an EKG. The doctor then went over my blood pressure medications and told me she thought I had been prescribed too much medication. She made some adjustments. I can certainly understand the frustration of long wait times. But keep in mind that some people, like myself, come in with life-threatening emergencies, so these people go to the front of the line and often take up a lot of time. I just moved here. I am trying to find a primary care physician. Doctors Care was a life-saver for me. Please understand that many doctors do not take patients who have only medicare or medicaid, and they don't want to be writing off expenses for patients who have no insurance and either can't or refuse to pay after treatment. I'm sure you have heard of doctors who say they are no longer taking new patients. . . . Be grateful this facility exists! There are no $400+ monthly premiums, and even when you have a primary care physician, sometimes you have to wait there, too. Once, I waited over 3 hours because another patient had a heart attack in the doctor's office!

I had no anxiety in the office whatsoever, the receptionist was very open to answering any questions I had and very patient with me. Along with the nurses assistant walking me through everything, and the nurse practitioner was very adamant about finding a solution to my problem. Which made me feel a lot of relief about the experience. This is one of the best urgent cares I've been to in my lifetime. I would recommend this experience to anyone if needed, of course.

I was taken in immediately for an EKG. They used a portable machine as well as a portable chest x ray. Took my blood and got the IV first try. All the nurses and Drs were communicating with each other with respect and seemed to be on the same page. I love all the checks and balances they have to ensure no mistakes are made. This may frustrate others but repeating yourself is how you get the best care. They have a poster on the wall so you know about how long to expect for results. Thankfully my results all came within a half hour 45 minutes and some even instant (EKG.) The bathroom was a bit messy but CLEAN. The room I was in was also clean from top to bottom. The stool was the only thing dirty but that's used to step on to get to the higher shelves. It had no baring on care. I may not have gotten the answers I was looking for but I was assured my heart was okay and I could travel back home to Connecticut the next day. I hope to never come back here but won't be mad if I do!
