The office of Texas wellness and pain center was filthy in the lobby. There is a skylight has mildew and has been dripping water. In the rooms the baseboards were filthy. The bed was filthy and had not been wiped down. All of the light switches were broken and had dirt ground into them. The bathroom was filthy. There was a full urine hat sitting beside the toilet. There were no other customers inside the building and yet it took them over two hours to come in and see the one patient who was there. We finally left While all of the doctors and nurses were setting up front joking at the front desk. I walked up and asked if they were running behind and they said no. We left before the doctor made it into the room we waited 2 hours. It is horrifically run and beyond filthy. None of the pictures that you are seeing is from the actual place. Disappointing Experience at Texas Pain Institute…read more My experience at Texas Pain Institute was extremely disappointing and frustrating. One of the leads, Miss Angela, was speaking to an elderly patient in a way that came across as assertive, demanding, and lacking basic compassion. For a medical facility--especially one dealing with pain management--this kind of interaction was uncomfortable to witness and completely unacceptable. The new patient paperwork was excessively long, and despite doing my best to complete it, I was told that if it wasn't finished in time, they would not reschedule me for the next day. Instead, the next available appointment was almost a month out, which is unreasonable for patients seeking timely care and already dealing with pain. The only positive experience I had with this business was a representative named Destiny. She truly stood out. Destiny went above and beyond to try to help me get rescheduled, showed genuine care, and had an amazing personality. She did everything in her power to assist me, and I absolutely appreciated her willingness to help when others clearly did not. Unfortunately, aside from Destiny's efforts, this experience left me feeling unvalued and discouraged. I expected professionalism, understanding, and empathy--especially toward elderly and new patients--but that expectation was not met.

Great physician. My research indicated some negative info about the office staff. I have not experienced any issues with Dr. Ratino's support staff. If is a busy office and the office staff are usually moving pretty fast. My longest wait time has been 20 minutes.

If you are a veteran that has a VA community care appointment with them to get cortisone shots, and…read moreyou haven't had your first appointment yet, then please request the VA to change doctors. They told me the first time I met them that I needed a blood test and an MRI in order to get a cortisone shot back in August. They NEVER mentioned physical therapy. They required me to get a blood test on the first day in their office. Instead of charging the VA for this blood test, their company sent me the bill for the blood test which the VA is supposed to pay for. They kept trying to set me up with an appointment for an MRI with their company that is not VA approved. I told them 3 times I don't want to use their company for MRIs and that I needed to use the VA and they kept calling and texting me for an appointment. They also set up an extra unnecessary 2nd "evaluation" to bill the VA to charge them for more money without giving any cortisone shots, which is what the VA is supposed to be paying them for. I saw them again on Oct. 9, 2026 and they still will not give me a cortisone shot. The Dr. wanted me to go to physical therapy for a while before he gave me a shot. I told them on day ONE that I did NOT want to go to physical therapy. They NEVER mentioned this to me back in Aug. 2026. All they told me was that I needed an MRI and a blood test back in Aug. I have no rotator cuff tears. My appointment today was a big waste of time. They did however, use most of my appointment time criticizing me for my negative Google review. My complaint was justified and valid. The old female doctor at the came up to me at the receptionist window and stared me down. She hissed, "I know you" in the most evil way as if to intimidate me. I asked her how she knew me and she said it was from my negative Google review. She does NOT know me at all and is one of the most condescending, unprofessional, and petty person there. She tried to gaslight and shame me for my honest Google review. Plus, I could hear them talk about me negatively because of my Google review as I walked past her and as I waited inside one of the rooms. Very unprofessional. I immediately called the VA to change doctors. This was a huge waste of time and all I got was a bill and a headache from these people. Rude staff. Amanda never returns calls even though she told me she would. Also, when I made an official complaint to Triwest about them, the office manager named "Eva Jo Bailey" tried to gaslight me and say that I wrote "incorrect statements about the process." They are all liars. I was told on DAY ONE that once I got my blood test and MRI and there were no injuries they would give me a cortisone shot. I have no injuries, rips or tears from my MRI and they charged the VA for an additional "Evaluation" appointment. Fifteen minutes of my appointment time was spent with the doctor criticizing me for my Google review. My appointment was less than 20 minutes.
