Nothing like the pictures. I came here based on the photos and reviews. Boy was I disappointed. I am not a hundred percent what differentiates a hotel between resort and motel, but this is differently not a resort. When you enter the lobby, you see a clean hotel and have high hopes but once you get to the room you realize you overpaid for a motel room. If you are going to spend the $150 a night, spend it somewhere you might get your money's worth. This is more of a $90 a night type place. read more

During my and my husband's GA/SC vacation a couple weeks ago, we were diverted to Hilton Head for a night due to weather. We really didn't get a chance to research the area so chose Beach House on a whim. The hotel was okay. It looked similar to the hotels in the area, and it's location was convenient to restaurants and shopping at Coligny Plaza across the street. Rooms were average - kind of what you expect in a beach hotel in a popular tourist area. A bit run down in parts - our bathtub's white enamel was coming off in large flecks. Things need a definite renovation, but we weren't grossed out or anything. Two restaurants on site - The Porch, which overlooked the pool area, and the Tiki Hut which was more on the beach side. We weren't super impressed with the food at Tiki Hut, but I don't know about The Porch as we had dinner somewhere else. We got an oceanview room, which was nice. The balcony was only about a foot wide, though, so you couldn't really enjoy it much. If we were going to be staying in Hilton Head longer than a day, I might've tried to do more research to see if there was anything better in the area. But if you just want a place to lay your head, see the ocean outside your window, and be able to set foot on the beach without any hassle, Beach House would probably suit you just fine. read more

I read everything before I booked this hotel. Pretty much everything that people said, good and bad, was spot on. Would I stay here again? Probably not unless there was an amazing deal. This review is just based on our experience. Youll notice it goes in line with what most others say. Also, you're staying at a family hotel. There are LOTS AND LOTS of kids. I did hear a few people complaining about it, but that's what you get at a Holiday Inn. It's not a couple's only resort. Out of fairness, they are going through a renovation, so I'm hoping my cons are gone in the next few months. Pros: - Fun atmosphere with live music every night. - Tiki bar (also where they have the live music daily) was great. Bartenders were friendly & made awesome drinks. Fast service - Stayed in the updated ocean view room. 3rd Floor. We heard people below us who thought they were getting ocean view were not happy at all. They had a view of the Tiki Bar or pool. From our room looking down, it looked like possibly the very end units on either side of "ocean view" would get that somewhat. If you were in between the very end units you were SOL. - Having the pool when the beach got packed (and it gets crowded!) was nice - Towels were available for the pool and beach. You dont need to bring your own. Beach chairs (rent them the entire stay..it's worth it even if you're not there all day long. If you dont rent chairs, they will not allow you to use them). Having an umbrella with the chairs was nice when it got too hot - Friendly staff - Comfortable beds Cons. I hate to say this..but the cons were pretty signficant. I think with some improvements, it really could be at least a 4 1/2 star...even 5 star..hotel Cons: - While check in and the staff were super friendly, I asked how bad the bugs were at night, because for some reason, they love to eat me alive. The girl at the front desk told me "Dont worry. There are no bugs". Ummmm..there were definitely bugs..so much so they gave us OFF at dinner! I was so confused why she would even say that. So..get bug spray. There are most definitely bugs that bite!!! - Way overpriced for what you actually get. I know it's HHI, and you are really paying through the nose for a tourist trap, but it just wasn't worth the amount we spent with no food or drinks included. We had thought about going all inclusive to Aruba and after adding up everything, 5 nights all inclusive at a 5 star couples only resort, would have been less than what we spend for 5 days in HHI at the hotel. Lesson learned. - The Porch Restaurant: Food was AWFUL. Well, I should say the main meals and dessert were awful. The apps are good. The drinks are good. We only had one actual meal, but it was enough to deter us from eating meals there again. Our poor server was so stressed out, he had to keep coming back to tell us things either weren't available, not ready (it wasn't crowded so I'm not sure why it took over an hour to get our food), or the kitchen was "looking for it" (see note about dessert). I'll skip the nitty gritty details on the meals, but the dessert I thought, would at least be easy. Nope. My hubby ordered a Root beer float. Apparently we serve warm (not luke warm..like it had been sitting in the sun the last hour) root beer and no ice cream because "we need to find it'. I had to laugh because I'm not sure how you lose ice cream. The poor kid literally came back to our table and said "They found your ice cream"...You could tell he was flustered and I felt really bad for him. I ordered some special banana pudding dessert - sounded amazing - How could fresh bananas, homemade pudding (per the restaurant's menu), and vanilla wafers be anything but delicious??? It can. Trust me. Especially when you get a layer of bananas, vanilla wafers, more bananas, cream poured over the top, and more vanilla wafers. I asked our server about it...his response was exactly how I was feeling "Oh geez. Yeah, that's definitely not pudding". He was right..I have no clue what it was, but I didnt eat it, and I didnt have the heart to put him through any more going back and forth to the kitchen. It was getting busy...and he was already serving way too many tables. My guess is he was also new..he didnt know whether he was coming or going. I will tell you he did get a GREAT tip...simply because he tried and he was honest. The food HAS to improve for your main dishes. - If you stay in the ocean view room, you WILL hear music, loudly, until 10 pm. They were honest and told us that when we checked in, so we weren't bothered by it. It's not a con unless you get no view and loud music. If you need your beauty sleep or go to bed early..avoid those rooms. read more

Why didn't I listen to the reviews... when you arrive the lobby is cute, very muggy but cute. Then the smell of cafeteria food hits you. The lady I spoke with at the front desk should not be allowed to deal with people. She was rude (to say the least ) and dismissive from the moment I walked in. I asked to see the room because I had a bad feeling after my 1st introduction with the hotel. The unpleasant annoyed lady at the front takes me to see the room. She informs me we must wear a lanyard on the property. The hallways look like motels and stink of bleach. The room looked ok until we really got in. Dated and dirty bathrooms, I wouldn't walk barefoot on the carpet and the room has an odd smell. I quickly went back down to the front desk and wanted to cancel the reservation. I spoke with another lady who was lovely but at this point I wanted to stay in a clean hotel where you are greeted with dignity. Skip this place. read more

We highly recommend the Beach House. We were a large group and staff was very accommodating, professional and personable. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The food is delicious with a great variety. It's the perfect location with the beach steps away. The tiki bar had live entertainment. The shops are within walking distance. This is such a great spot! The location is right on the beach, the rooms are nicely appointed and very clean, the staff is amazing and very accommodating. I absolutely loved the restaurant on property which was pool side offering a little of everything my favorite being the lunch boxes filled with delicious sandwiches and salads. This is a great hotel for couples and families. We came down with a group and they truly accommodated all of our needs. Beautiful place for a beach side wedding as well. read more

We really enjoyed our stay at the Beach House. Prior to booking I was skeptical about the location as it looked very small and somewhat lacking on amenities, I couldn't have been more wrong. We stayed for the week of the 4th with two kids and had a blast. Once we arrived at the resort we didn't leave until checkout. The food from the onsite restaurant was FANTASTIC and they have a chef onsite who is dedicated to making creative and delicious meals. I highly recommend "The Beach" which is a shrimp and fish entree, the portion is huge and it's so very good. The resort has a great vibe to it and you can tell there is pride of ownership in this boutique hotel. Don't let the affiliation with Holiday Inn make you think this is a low end place. Other things that we loved/enjoyed was the poolside service was excellent, games/activities for the kids during the day, poolside movies in the evening and the room was very clean. We'd certainly come back again and it'll be the place I recommend to anyone visiting the area. read more

We stayed at this hotel because my husband wanted to check out a timeshare promotion he received. The arrangements were made for us so we didn't pick. Upon arriving it was late. We checked in and came to our room. Didn't look around too much we were tired. When we woke up we looked around. Our room is a bit dingy looking. Dated and almost a yellow look. The bathroom is dated, some weird circle thing in the shower, the bathroom door was beyond gross. The lamp shade has something awful all over it. We tried to get on the WiFi but were unable to. Upon researching the hotel this is a standard issue. After numerous attempts and contacting the front desk, still no luck. We requested an extra pillow. It wasn't received until the following day. The request took almost 24 hours! The hotel is located on the beach so that is a nice plus. It is within walking distance to shopping and lots of little cafes and restaurants. The room was OK at best. But definitely not worth the going rate. read more

I'm not sure hat qualifies this remodeled hotel as a "resort". I stayed on the first floor and there is no AC in the hallways so its very hot and stuffy. I had a pleasant experience with 3 out of 4 of the front staff, the young blonde who checked me in was apparently having a bad day and was very kirt with me. The first night I couldn't sleep in room 119 which was directly across from the noisy electrical room and it never, ever stopped. The noise was so loud it vibrated the bathroom floor so after a restless horrible night I spoke with Margaret at the front desk and she kindly apologized and offered us another room for the rest of our stay. My mother wasn't happy about relocating but at least we remained on the same floor. The location of this hotel in conjunction to the beach couldn't have been better. The layout of the pool, the tiki bar, the music, and complimentary pool towels for our use were great. I was not pleased to get an additional $30 "resort fee" under my door the morning of our departure. They charge $9.95 per day and I'm still confused about that. They had no continental breakfast and offered me nothing that any other hotel wouldn't have so I wasn't too happy about that. I think your nightly fee should include everything so you don't get an additional fee after you've paid everything up front. I would stay here again if everything else was booked but I think I may try another hotel first. read more

We enjoyed our stay here. The room was clean and the decor and furnishings were nice and updated. You are definitely playing for location here. Your are, legit, right on the beach and FREE parking, which is amazing. The pool is nice and big with bathrooms outside & close to the pool. There's also the tiki bar which plays live music every night. This was awesome to enjoy from our ocean view room! I splurged a bit for this vacation and was so happy I did. We would open our slider door and sit inside and enjoy the view & music. They do play music late, but closing the slider seemed to muffle a lot of the sound out. We didn't loose any sleep because of it. The Porch (which I reviewed as well), which is the hotel's restaurant, is great too. Definitely get the breakfast included in your hotel reservation, you save a little bit of money that way. There are beach amenities you can enjoy as well. (these are NOT run or operated by the hotel). All in all I really loved this place. Staff was nice and we only had to go to the front desk 2 times, which to me is a success! would stay here again! read more

Stayed at the Beach House Resort last week through Christmas. Very clean. Staff friendly and helpful. Very quiet. Only one negative...snacks at front desk are way over priced. Plan ahead and buy a few snacks elsewhere before you get there. Other than that we had a great time. We stay here several times a year. Rarely do we encounter a problem. I attended a wedding here and the on-site coordinator was absolutely awful. My poor friends found out the next day that their entire basket of wedding gifts has gone missing along with hundreds of dollars of custom signs and decorations. No one had answers as to where anything was. The bride and groom were not only robbed of the financial gifts but of the sentiments of so many handwritten notes from their friends and family. Maybe if they were more focused on providing quality service rather than pumping out THREE weddings in the same night, they could have been more on top of things! read more

Came here an early spring and loved it returned for a long holiday and absolutely hated this place. Room stunk like a soured washrag, carpet was wet during entire stay. Bed was so hard you woke up every hour to change positions. Hurt our hips and shoulders. We heard others complaining the same. Bed comforter was falling apart and sheets were stained bad. We will never return and will not recommend. They did wave our 20$ per day resort bogus fee. And hotels.com refunded $50 but still so not worth the money we paid. read more

Other than prime location, this Holiday Inn Resort is the worst hotel I've stayed in. Why? DAMP sheets, DAMP carpet, just overall dampness everywhere. I understand the humidity in Hilton Head but housekeeping turns off the AC in the room when they make it and when you return, everything is wet. Basically slept in a wet blanket for days. The wall itself was moldy, the coffee maker was moldy; I can't help but feel gross the whole three days we stayed there. If it wasn't for the eclipse and lack of lodging elsewhere, I would not have booked this room. If you are staying in Hilton Head, opt for a real resort with dry sheets. Seriously, my standards are not that high, clean room and clean sheets. read more

The only benefit to some may be that it is walking distance to coligny plaza. This is not a Resort. During our stay they had only one elevator working for guest and employees, one day I was #16 in line for a very small elevator. They were also replacing the carpet in the hotel lobby due to water damage. We also got locked out of the hotel lobby at 3pm due to the doors locking from the inside. You will see in my photos the pool light floating in the pool, the pool filter poorly working, black mold on the door to the outside kitchen, mold on my English muffin at breakfast ( and they fully charged us for breakfast at the Porch) . Loads of drunk people and dogs at Tiki Hut. Went and complained to front desk, was given a small credit. Funny thing is when I went back to the room my room key was deactivated. So had to wait for the long elevator ride down to get a new key, than ride back. Called Corp Office and was told by John there was nothing more they would or could do. They still charged my card 50.00 for our breakfast with moldy food. It was no vacation staying at this hotel. One more thing... like the place wasn't bad enough, last night we get a text that the water will be turned off at 11. Again this is no Resort. read more

The hotel has an excellent location directly on the beach and steps from restaurants and shopping which is what made this stay so enjoyable. As someone from FL who has been to many resorts in Orlando, I would not call this a resort by any standard. It is a hotel on the beach with a pool and restaurant and nothing really resort like. I don't understand the resort fee especially when the pool couldn't be used because it was freezing cold even though the staff promised me it was heated. I feel they lied to me about that. The Beach House hotel looks better online then in person. It is clean and comfortable enough though. I don't think I'd stay here again for a high price when I can get something nicer for the resort price the Beach House charges. Basically you are paying for their awesome location. read more

Ok so the ONLY good thing about this place is the location! They call this place a "resort". Hahaha! Which is a huge stretch. It's a sub-par, way overpriced hotel with a great location. That's it. We checked in a Friday evening. The bar next to the pool closes at 11pm and the service is beyond slow. Like a sloth moves faster. The Tiki bar closes at 10pm, even on Friday and Saturday nights. How ridiculous is that? I mean for what you're paying to stay at this place, you'd expect to be to get drinks till at least midnight on the weekends! And don't you dare try to bring your own beer or wine, they will berate you. Let's talk about the rooms. The room numbers are painted on the walls in a huge form, like you would expect it to be in a prison. The rooms are not clean at all. The light over the sink looked like it hadn't been dusted or cleaned in months. There was hair in our shower when we got in the room. Underneath the toilet was just plain disgusting. The rooms truly need a thorough cleaning and updating. See attached pictures. They look nothing like what the pictures on the website show. No ceiling fans or microwaves. Our safe didn't work.. The hallways smell damp and musky. You need to make sure that you actually pull on your room door when you leave to make sure the door latches. You can hear the toilets from other rooms flush. But you're lucky if your toilet actually does. I've stayed at other Holiday Inns that were fabulous, this one is most definitely not. The beach is beautiful, the food, while limited was ok, the beds were comfy, and the ac worked well. I would not recommend staying here. They should be glad I cannot post pics! read more

We were upgraded to an ocean view room. Stayed two nights here & rode bikes on the beach & on bike paths from the hotel. A great time to go during off season. I can say without a doubt that in my 25 plus years of personal and business travel, I have never been more disappointed in a hotel than I am in the Holiday Inn Resort Beach house in Hilton Head, SC. In at time of deep personal grief, they treated me like I didn't matter and made me feel like garbage. This property is completely uncommitted to customer service and cares very little for IHG Rewards Club members or for that matter, the personal issues that families struggle with in an ongoing basis. I had planned on visiting Hilton Head this coming Easter (2020) as a surprise to my wife, who works extremely hard running a home health agency-many times not making a profit in her business, due to her love and care for her patients and their families. My wife came to America with very little and built this business from scratch. This trip was to give her the chance to relax and unwind. However, things took a turn in late February of 2020. We received word from my wife's home country that her immediate older sister had unexpectedly and tragically passed away. My wife had spoken to her only two days before on the phone. Needless to say my wife was in shock and in deep grief. About a week later, the date for the burial of my wife's sister was set for the week after Easter. It took me a few days to start finalizing plans, but I realized that we would need to cancel our surprise trip to Hilton Head. The first night of our trip was planned to be in Charleston, SC. It was at a Hilton property. I was able to easily cancel this reservation - no issues or problems. However, when I called IHG to cancel my reservation at the Holiday Inn Beach house. The customer care representative alerted me that the reservation was a non-cancelable reservation, so I asked if there was anything they could do since there was no way we could travel due to my sister-in-law's burial/funeral. The representative was compassionate and said that normally there were allowances, but that she would need to call the hotel. She proceeded to call the hotel, and the property told her that I would need to call back myself during business hours to talk to someone at the hotel, as they would not cancel the reservation without any penalties. It took me a few days, due to my work, schedule, but I finally had time to call, and I spoke first with a representative in the hotel's reservation department named Ally. She was very unconcerned about my situation and was a generally uncaring person. She told me that basically I was out of luck and that we would be required to pay the $600+ with no options for a refund, a re-schedule or any other flexibility. I asked if since I was a Spire Elite member, there were any exceptions or other ways that I could use the reservation, and she told me flatly - "NO!" I asked to talk to her manager. I should have been prepared for the horrible customer service I was about to receive based on the bad service I'd just received from Ally. However, Reservation Manager Christina, more than exceeded my low expectations of the Holiday Inn Resort Beach House. Christina proceeds to start the conversation with a barrage of, "There's nothing I can do" statements. I asked her politely if there was not a way for them to refund the over $600, but she clearly displayed that this hotel does not value it's customers or their families or the tough situation of dealing with a family member's death. I asked again, but two things were clear - Christina was not going to help me, and she and this hotel clearly do not care about their customers or what they are going through. This is not the expectation I have of Holiday Inn or IHG properties. I have stayed in their properties all over the world, and this is the first cold and callous group of individuals and owners of one of their properties that I have ever encountered. I used to travel 40 weeks a year, and never have I seen this kind. We will eventually be visiting Hilton Head. However, we will NOT be staying at the Holiday Inn Beach House. I implore all those who value family and want to be treated like a valued customer to not stay here, either. AVOID them and their bad customer service. There are plenty of other resorts to choose from. Choose any other than Holiday Inn Beach House. read more

Even though the square is close by for food and shopping, you really wouldn't need to leave this resort because it had all the amenities! I will definitely stay again!!! Thank you! read more

Positives: *Location convenient to nightlife and on the beach *Unique pool, volleyball nets, ping pong, kiddie pool *Polite and helpful staff *Clean and comfortable decor-appropriate average-sized room Meh: Free parking but there is a resort fee. For us it was $19.99 for one night. Negatives: * The pool area and the beach behind the hotel need trash pickup * Value for what you pay * The hotel has a modern look but is about 50 years old, and does not compare with more modern resorts. Property is too small and lacks the insular feeling of a resort as that term is used today. The entire beach on HHI is public, and there is a public right of way next door. This is part of the reason. * Tiki bar next door (controlled by Holiday Inn) attracts a large crowd which is wild and inked up. Tiki bar used to be smaller and more quaint than it is now. Now, very large and the social and focal point is the band at the bar and no longer the beach and sand. Back in the day, very romantic. No more. I can't recommend to families in season based on what I have seen. I don't want my kids around drunk adults. * We were assigned a handicapped room without being told or offered a choice. read more

The hotel room was in disrepair. Paint was peeling off of the ceiling in the restroom and kept falling down making a mess. The toilet seat was broken. The room was dirty (the small things such as corners of the room and especially the bathroom were absolutely filthy) I hated that the bar with live music was right there where we had to walk to the beach and pool! The pool was filthy and was never cleaned at all while we were there. We had 5 people in our room and in spite of our requests for more we were continually only given 2 wash cloths! read more

This is our second year staying here and it was just as good as last year. The restaurant has delicious selections. They smoke their own pork and brisket in the back and the shredded pork nachos were fabulous! Their buffet breakfast is really good too. Olivia is the hostess and jack of all trades. She does everything to keep the guests happy and The Porch & pool working smoothly. She is always ready with a genuine smile and asks if you need anything. read more

This is not really what I expected. We stay in Hilton Head a lot, typically at Disney. However, Disney was booked for Sprimg break. Maybe my expectations are a little screwed but I do expect something that is clean.We stayed in the kids room with bunk beds. The room was pretty dark and dirty. The tiles had goop, ceiling was pealing away, and there was even hair on the sheets in our bed. When we asked to have our sheets changed the housekeeper was rude. She only changed the king bed and wouldn't change the bunk beds. I wouldn't even let my kids walk around bare foot. My husband had to clean our ceiling fan since the dust would bother his allergies. I have pics of all the dust he wiped off. We were really close to the band which is pretty loud. But didn't bother us too much. I definitely won't stay again! read more

First, let me begin by stations that my review may be slightly biased- I prefer VRBO or airbnb when traveling, and have not stayed in a hotel other than a night or two for business in over 3 years. That being said, the hotel is nice, but is definitely in need of some upgrades. The ventilation in the bathroom doesn't work, and the vent is caked with dust and there is mold forming on the ceilings. It's also driving me nuts that there is no laundry facility on site, and despite the fact that our room has a very large fridge, there is no microwave in the room nor on the floor. The wifi is also slow as dial-up...I've browsed faster in third world countries. I'm also writing this review as the live band continues to play at 11:17 just below my window, accompanied by the sound of loud laughing and drunken conversation, so I'm guessing unless they stop soon, I won't be resting well tonight. Pluses- there is plenty of parking near the beach, so no need to drag your supplies a million miles and haul it back a million more. There are also plenty of seating areas around the pool and picnic tables near the resort for lunch. If you choose to be resort-bound, there's also a full-restaurant that serves breakfast (MINUS- No continental breakfast!) and dinner, as well as a tiki bar (the source of the laughing and drunk talk-now screeching tires as well) and poolside restaurant. So all in all, not great, but not horrible. With kids though, sand is everywhere! And nowhere to wash! Next time I'll stick to my airbnb! read more

Let me start by saying the place was clean and there was nothing AWFUL about our stay. There was absolutely nothing great about it either. This place has no right calling itself a resort - it's a basic hotel that happens to be on the beach, and has a pool. The rooms were ok, but the double beds were TINY (and no where near as comfy as other HI Expresses Ive been to) and the air conditioning units in the room were LOUD. It wasn't by any stretch a dump but it felt kind of like the makeup was fading fast... We are Priority club members with Holiday Inn, and every place else we've been that's meant something - even something as simple as a complimentary water at check in, I've stayed recently at a small HI Express in a little nowhere town for 1/4 the price per night of this location and was treated like royalty in comparison to the apathetic lackluster treatment we received at the Beach House. Upon arrival, we were greeted at the front desk by a young lady who seemed to have zero interest in anything but giving me as little info as possible and getting me out of her hair. As a 1st time visitor to Hilton Head registering at a "resort" I expected a little more informtation about the place. I asked for a map of the grounds and she looked at me like I had 3 heads and was told they used to have them but not anymore.OK, understandable, but maybe that's a queue to tell me where things are? Nope, handed me my keys and turned to her previous activities. When I asked what direction our room was in, she pointed in a general direction and said "thru those doors". Gee thanks. Most places I stay suggest a place to park to be close to the room, or exert a bit more effort in showing guests to their quarters. When my husband and I got to the room, we were shocked to find our door ajar, propped open by the security lock latch. There was no one inside, but it was disconcerting nonetheless. I went back to the front desk to let them know the door was open and was told by the man at the desk it was nothing to worry about, housekeeping did that all the time. Great, that makes me feel safe and secure. How do I know they will close it when they leave next time, with my stuff inside? Determined to ignore the hotel and enjoy our short stay, we pretty much stayed off grounds the entire weekend (which was a smart move, the parking lot was PACKED despite alleged "parking attendants - we saw several people parking there who were not guests), and did our own thing. In passing though, we saw staff at the pool (security? really? ) speaking less than professionally to guests, and overheard other guests checking in treated with the same special brand of apathy we got when checking in. I hate the reviews that whine about price but honestly, for what we paid, this review should be glowing! I can overlook cosmetics, rooms don't have to be brand spanking new with stellar views, but in those cases, the service usually makes up for it and it balances out. Not this time - I feel ripped off. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Too bad the rooms were rough and the staff were rude and unprofessional because the pool and beach access were very nice. We checked in and were told that we booked an extra room that we did not. We wanted it cancelled immediately, but were told (by an employee named Henrice) that we couldn't cancel it, there was nothing we could do, and we'd have to pay for it. Currently, we are getting that change cancelled by our credit card company since we did not authorize that purchase. We asked for a crib to be delivered to our room and after getting back to the hotel a few hours later no crib in sight. We call to get another one and the maid staff told me that her key didn't work the so she took the crib back down to storage. You didn't think to get a new key? You thought we'd forget about needing a crib? Poor/lazy excuse. Overall, unprofessional, rude, and untrained staff, rough rooms, nice location, and a nice pool. read more

On our way to Orlando we stopped here at Hilton Head because 1-I've never been here and 2-I wanted our girls to see the Atlantic Ocean. We are here for only one night, but we are really enjoying it. This Holiday Inn is right on the ocean. There is a beautiful outdoor pool. The Tiki Bar is near the pool with live music and there's also a restaurant connected to the pool area. We ordered drinks at the restaurant bar then sat poolside while listening to the music and watching the kids swim. The restaurant isn't cheap, but you can make it economical. The children's menu items are $8 each. The pulled pork nachos and loaded brisket fries were more than enough for two adults to share with some left over. The room is clean. Is it 5 star beautiful? No. But with AAA on a Thursday we only paid $100 and this room is great for that price. 2 double beds(queen would have been nicer), space on the floor for a cot or air mattress for our 5th person, fridge, keurig, microwave, safe, bathtub(clean but needs a reglazing), and working a/c. Overpriced for the poor accommodations and service. Not at all like the photos.The front desk staff was rude when I asked simple questions and the "garden" view room is a parking lot view. This is not a resort, more like a motel. We got a room at an actual resort for the same price and couldn't be happier we left. Also, the property is not private. The bar allows public access. Don't book a balcony room here!!!!! We paid extra for a balcony room and all week long had to listen to the crappy cover band of the night from the Tiki Hut until late into the night. Don't get me wrong, we love music but, not when it's not optional. The balconies are a joke with not enough room to fit a person standing! The carpets are sticky and nasty, our room had a table and no chairs, no plug ins for chargers and the maids only knocked once. We requested a crib for our little guy the I won't even go into how nasty it was.... At one point, my little newborn was sleeping in his crib and the smell of cigarettes and pot was drifting underneath the adjoining room door under his crib!! If you stay here, pick a room that is less money, not an ocean front view, and does not have adjoining rooms. At the last minute, the staff from Overland Park, Kansas and the other young gal assisted anyway they could from my weeks long frustrations of struggling to put my newborn down from all the noise, the weed, smoke, and dirt, and the litter that lines the nice outdoor pathways around the island by putting us in another room which was much nicer than our previous one. 1st impressions are everything. Very central location and the beaches were great. Unfortunately, we won't be back to stay at the Holiday Inn Beach House, Hilton Head Island, SC. read more

Clean, quiet rooms. Very active social scene at the beach bar during "the season." Walking distance to many shops. Good food, and generous portions, at the on-site restaurant. And incredibly helpful staff. (Kudos to Todd for driving me to the airport at 5 am when all local taxis and car services were completely booked.) read more
