So we told her, sure we just want the second pearl as is even though we didn't ask for it. Her attitude quickly became hostile and began interrogating me all because we told her I'm an artisan jeweler myself. She would ask me personal questions as if I don't know my own craftsmanship. If you're a tourist, you're better off ignoring them and just walk away. They become rude as soon as you don't want to be pressure into buying the most expensive jewelry.

It was crazy!! All of these beautiful Polynesian women, of lovely beautiful sizes, were going nuts over these dresses & tops!! Prices range from $25-$50 depending on what style it is. What can this be? What sizes do they have left? I NEED to find something. (Being from these islands and of Polynesian descent, I adore fashion that is inspired by Polynesia, Polynesian cultures, AND of course Polynesian women!) There was HUGE line with women carrying several pieces of beautiful dresses & nice blouses. The racks were pretty bare with only ONE dress style I liked in my size. I wasn't sure how they'd fit though cuz i'm in between sizes. The girl says, "Try 'em on girl!" I love that! The dressing room was just one large community room, which I actually was fine with, going to a highschool where you just don't care about that. I found the size I liked and went to pay. The lady at the ring up station was super nice!!! Like Tutu/Aunty kine nice!! She's actually the designer of this brand. I asked her if she has a store in Kona, she doesn't...yet!!! These dresses were selling FAST, I'll be surprised if they have any inventory for the fair today! The artist, Isaiah, is inspired by the ʻāina and kai (land and sea), as well as his Native Hawaiian and Japanese heritage. He really honors the raw materials he uses (wood, shells, bones) in his designs. He does lots of earrings, but also does hair sticks, hook necklaces, and more. He does craft fairs where he sells his jewelry, but he also posts his current items on his Instagram (@kekumuaoadesigns). Isaiah does commissions too for jewelry, but his Insta has pics of commissions for combs, mirrors, lei, and urns.
