As a mom, I appreciate this studio because the studio follows the Cechetti method and focuses on performances instead of competitions. The end of the year performances, as well as the performing group shows, are very high quality. As with all things though, the studio, the kids and the parents are not perfect. Each situation is so different. However, as you can see by Miss Kimberly's responses to the reviews, she is very professional and cares deeply about the studio and especially the kids. I feel very very fortunate to have found HAD.

He wasn't never left alone (especially with new people : strangers before but we left him there as we were told to wait outside) minutes later, we were told to come in and received a big hug. When he recognized a song, he went back to the dance floor and danced around the kids. The instructor didn't like that and at one point even said he was distracting the other kids (as he wasn't on his colored marked circle space) For a child in the spectrum, this is hard to do. They proceeded with the program NOT including him. I felt so bad for our son that i had tears in my eyes even now as Im typing this. Every child deserves to be seen heard and they WANT to be included. They just beed more TIME AND PATIENCE than neurotypical kids.

The boys are so happy here that we decided to stay on even though we moved out of Huntington Beach last year and now commute for 30-45 minutes to and from class. Clifton offers ballet, jazz, tap, hip-hop, and contemporary as well as private piano and vocal lessons and a musical theater class. What we love about this studio: Positive environment/atmosphere - The teachers here are patient, caring, and nurturing. They know how to ensure a fun experience for the kids while still maintaining discipline and order during class. World class instruction - check out their website; it speaks for itself. Real dance floors - no tile or linoleum. Parent viewing areas with plenty of seating for all 3 studios (rooms) - One entire wall of each room is floor to ceiling glass for easy viewing from the exterior of the building. The two larger rooms also have large windows for viewing from the lobby/reception area (great for when it is too cold outside). Hip-Hop classes for ages 4-6 that are age appropriate and tons of fun - hard to find in OC. A wonderful, professional June recital and holiday show. Two terrific Summer workshops - one for the older, intermediate and advanced students and one for the younger students. Both of my boys attended workshop last year. My youngest had so much fun that he chose to write about 'dance workshop' as the thing he was most looking forward to this Summer for his last writing prompt in 1st grade. My oldest came home exhausted and with a huge smile on his face every day; he is really looking forward to being challenged again this year. Convenient location - In a strip mall adjacent to a park and a Home Depot. Easy to take a younger sibling to play in the park or take a walk for some exercise while your kids are in class. There is also a kundalini yoga studio in the center plus a variety of adult fitness/dance classes available in the evenings at Clifton for moms who want to work out while their kids dance. There are also plenty of restaurants and a liquor store within easy walking distance if you need to pick up a snack or a quick dinner for after class. Prices are very reasonable and highly competitive with other studios in the area - an incredible value!

We're so grateful for everything Clifton does to help my daughter grow as a dancer and as a person. She's learned so much here and has built meaningful friendships along the way. The Grinch production is something she looks forward to all year long and it brings so much joy to the dancers and families. And the June show is always absolutely exceptional, such a beautiful showcase of everyone's hard work and talent.

Returning to dance as an adult after growing up in the competitive dance world can be extremely intimidating. The studio culture at KRD is incredibly welcoming, and I have made lifelong friends while attending classes. The instruction at KRD can only be described as caring and artistic. The instructors have a deep respect for individual expression and growth. Encouragement is constant, and every class feels intentionally structured to challenge you while still being enjoyable. I always feel supported while taking class. Kelela Rose Dance has truly become a creative home for me, and I am so appreciative of the work done by Kelela and her staff to foster a warm and welcoming environment for dancers returning to the art as adults!

So whenever they practice for the recital my daughter was made to feel very left out. The instructor told my daughter that she can do stretches or do whatever she wanted or join the dance. Fact that the instructor pointed that out made my daughter felt like she didn't belong. Paying for the recital or not, every tuition paying dancer should be part of the routine. They have my credit card in their system and charge automatically every month which in the beginning we appreciated because we didn't have to remember to pay or wait for a bill and all that hassle. However, this academy not once sent out updates or announcements of any kind. I checked my spam/junk mail as well as regular mail. They say they do send email but we never got it. Suddenly tuition increased by $30 this month. Also we just found out there is an annual registration fee although there was no additional need for any type of "re-registration." They just simply charge it every July. The reason it's not a 1 star is because after the issue arises they refunded this month tuition smoothly as we decided to pull my daughter from this academy. And while there my daughter didn't mention other issues aside from feeling excluded from the Moana dance. We got quoted with another academy close by for our daughter where tuition is a lot more reasonable and she will be starting there soon.

I have been waiting YEARS to post this. My daughter finally…read morequit after deliberating for a very long time. The last few years at this studio have been slowly eating away at her. 1) communication is minimal unless you're one of the parents who is constantly volunteering. If there is communication we still have to ask for a lot of clarification. 2) "I just didn't think you were ready" was a very common phrase used when they decided not to move girls to different levels. I worked as a gymnastics instructor for 7 years and we had a list of all of the skills needed to move from level to level. The kids always knew what they needed to work on. 3) Since the new studio opened the selection of classes/time slots seems to have dwindled. 4) It seems as if the new owner/s are trying to turn this studio into a professional dance studio... pushing out or keeping the kids who are just there for recreational dance down. The MONEY that keeps your studio afloat is coming from the MAJORITY of your students, Not from the 5-10 kids that you want to try and make a name from. A lot of the staff and parents are frustrated with the way the studio is currently being run and I don't blame them. My daughter only stayed as long as she did because she had been dancing there since she was 5. She brought up her concerns to the owner and was ignored and brushed off.
