Superlative food and service in a beach bar is what you get here. What distinguishes Beach Cafe at the 132 is that the quality of the food, service and wine is higher than just about any beach bars. Their specialty is fresh seafood and what I like the most are their appetizers, particularly the anchovies on a crostino/piece of bread with the jam and rucola. Tuna tartare is also amazing with its variety of intelligently, tastefully crafted amuse bouches and condiments.
The owner works here all the time, his wife is the lead waitress, and his son also handles a good deal of transactions at the bar and as an extra waiter when more speedy service is needed. They all behave and treat you in a made with love kind of way like only an Italian that is deeply proud of their splendid cuisine, and they have a lot to be proud about!
The two downsides of this place show how good it is: price and slow service. You get what you pay for and while the prices are a bit more than you would expect from a simple beach bar, you get an enormously higher quality, fancy restaurant type experience so it's worth it. You can select less expensive appetizers, eat less, or just get the inexpensive house wine from the tap to keep the price down and it's fine. Or you can go super fancy and pay more or anything in between letting your budget guide your ordering, the experience will be wonderful no matter what. As far as the wait times, as I said this is not typical beach bar fast food. Almost everything is made to order so the serving time is going to be about as long as if you'd prepare and cook it yourself. This guarantees that you will be given fresh, delicious food, just look up "slow food" to learn more about getting away from reheated cheapo junk and towards a vibrant, real food type experience.
I love Beach Cafe at 132. It sets the bar pretty high not just for beach bars but seafood in the entire town of Rimini. There are a handful of other places this good but if you want to eat at the top restaurants in this town, Beach Cafe is one of the few that will fit the bill. If you want to up your dining game experience and don't want to travel far, this place is definitely worth your time, money and repeat business. read more
